There are a million websites dedicated to archiving images that objectify women- reduce them to living fuck-dolls- devalue them as humans- make it appear as though sex is an act of conquering a woman, penetrating her, owning her, essentially erasing her. Am I not allowed to be sexual? Am I not allowed to be openly sexual? Am I not allowed to express what I find sexually appealing? Is it too much to imagine that I might enjoy sex? That I might want it? Is it too threatening to imagine that not only do I have a vagina, but that I might want to put it to use someday? Or is it easier for people to think that I, as a female, am only unwillingly sexual when a male chooses to dominate/coerce me into sex? Sexual violence isn’t just a physical action. The assumption that my sexuality can only come alive under the touch of a male is also a form of violence because it takes the power and control of my sexual identity away from me. . . . um.... what happened to this? so many pictures have been removed... Im hesitant to think that there were so many complaints... still like what you're doing but im curious as to what changed... theres even a picture I put up of a few friends that got removed and they knew about it and were cool with it...

Yes, we only remove images by request. Any missing images were not knowingly removed by either moderator, though I am sorry that they have disappeared. We have been very busy these past few months with moving across the country, finding work and beginning new projects. Pretty much neither moderator has been working on PILFS for the past few months so it might be some glitches on Tumblr's part. Sorry again though!

What became of The Internet Feminisms book project? I submitted an essay and received a copy, but never heard anything else about it. Did there end up being a real live forum in NYC (I'd love to go if that's still going to happen.) Did the book ever get brought to book fair tables or distributed anywhere else but to the contributors themselves? Etc. Thank you muchly!

Hey thanks for your interest! We did have the forum in summer 2012, though we haven't been able to get footage back to put online. We haven't looked further into distribution since we only had the funds to print and mail enough for our contributors. We have hopes to continue with the project at a future date but we have been taking some time off as we both recently graduated from school and have had to focus on work. When we get the ball rolling again on the project I would be more than happy to give you a heads up though :)
