I’ve never seen myself as a lyricist at all. I don’t want to tell people what I think. The lyrics are just like, something to think about while you listen to the music rather than ‘check me out, this is what I think, I’m heartbroken’ I try to keep it simple and just paint pictures that coincide with what I’m doing with the music, and sometimes it’s emotionally resonant and sometimes people go “What are you doing?” I’m an artist, man, sometimes I fuck up.  - Daniel Johns
