Whoops they're posting out of order I'm sorry guys I'll be better next time and queue it up but I was so excited😔
these are the votive holders! I only got the votive holders in this design, but I'm so in love! like the tea light holder, these have a frosty/matte finish on the outside and a super shiny inside! these ones, though, have a completely transparent window! 😍
and finally! My new Boney Bunch tea light holder! this one is called "Diamonds are a Ghoul's Best Friend", and it features Boney and his female friend c; he's got a cute little coffin shaped box with a ring in it 😍 each Boney Bunch piece is HAND PAINTED guys! so yea, the paint job is a little off, but it's gonna look gorgeous lit up I'm definitely gonna make this piece one of my decoration centerpieces this year!
I got my new Yankee stuff today! everything is quite nice. I'll post some more pictures rn
this one is a tea light holder (for those of you who don't know, tea lights are the candles that come in the tiny plastic or tin cups) it's got a frosty or matte finish, and the inside is super shiny orange it's gonna look so freaking cool lit up at night!
this is the backside of that same coupon! you can use this side in store! as long as they can see the bar code and the code beneath, it's acceptable. the coupon expires the 27th, so don't delay! c:
here's a coupon for anyone who would be shopping online! this coupon is good until the 27th, so don't delay! c:
here's a picture of a fully liquefied top layer! I don't know if you guys could see, but this picture also shows the wick beginning to bud, so this wick will be needing trimming. c:
Candle Tip #3- Let that Motherfucker Burn!
hello, my dear loves! candle mama is back just in time for the start of candle season! so you've picked your candle and trimmed your wicks. good job! now it's time to let that Motherfucker burn! light your candle and go on your merry way! now, I already mentioned this in a previous post, but let me reiterate - YOU WANNA MAKE SURE YOU GET IN SOME GOOD BURN TIME! LET THE WAX POOL! "but what does that even mean, candle mama?" your wonderful self might be asking. you are gonna wanna make sure that the whole top layer of your candle is liquified before you turn it off, or your candle will tunnel! with the jar candles, that could be from 4-6 hours. with tumblers, that could be about an hour or two. you wanna keep your time constraints in mind to get the most out of your candles! I'll post a picture later for anyone who needs a visual. c:
I Have It! Now What? Candle Tip #2
OK lovers, you've made it this far and I'm proud of you! Now some little known tips to get the most from your candle! You need to get your wonderful self a set of wick trimmers. "What are wick trimmers, candle mama?" you ask. Wick trimmers are a special set of scissors made to trim your candle wicks and catch the part you cut off! "But candle mama, why do I need to trim my wicks?" A good query, my child! Your wonderful self would like to make the most of your candle, right? And enjoy the fragrance of the wax? Well, if the wick is too long, the wick will smoke, because Yankee Candle wicks are made of 100% cotton. The wick will begin to curl in on itself and the head of the wick will smoke. You cannot smell the fragrance over smoke! Trimming it will also keep your candle burning evenly! Mind you, trimming your wick too short might make it tunnel. Yankee recommends trimming the wick to about 1/8 of an inch, but eyeball it. You'll get a feel for a good length. (Also, its been my experience that the dark colored candles burn funny, so leave the wicks longer on those.)
OK But I Still Need Help!
Alright Are you hoping to use your candle for decoration? The tumblers are better suited as decor items, as well as functional. If you get the large tumbler, you'll also get fragrance from your candle right away, whereas the large jars have to burn for about a half hour before you smell it. However, the large jars are stronger in fragrance and last about 150 hours! Yea! Large tumblers last about 85. You have to have large jars lit for 4 to 6 hours, until the top layer is liquefied, so that your jar doesn't tunnel. The large tumblers only have to be lit for an hour or two to get liquefied, so you don't really have to worry about tunneling. Sooooo... Tumblers are less maintenance, better for people who aren't home a lot. Jars are better for folks who have time and enjoy the absolute best quality fragrance. Woo!
But How Do I Know This is Right For Me???
OK, lemme tell you a thing - wax matters. say your wonderful self is shopping in a Yankee candle store. Your wonderful self will find two different styles of jars and the wax will look different! HOW DO YOU CHOOSE??? well, calm your wonderful self down. your candle mama (me) is here to help. The traditional apothecary jar, the one with the glass lid, is filled with paraffin wax! The scent is heavier/stronger in candles made with pure paraffin, so if you want something to fill a large-ish room, this one will definitely do that (depending on size). The sleek jars, aka tumblers, are filled with a soy/paraffin blend! Its about a 50/50 of both waxes, so if you're looking for just soy, you'll have to find them somewhere else. These are not as strong as paraffin, but it will kinda fill a large-ish room, also depending on the size.
Candle Tip #1- Pick A Winner
Picture this- your wonderful self ends in a store and your wonderful self finds that the perfect thing to class up your hovel is one of the establishment’s fine, fine candle products! how hard could it be for your wonderful self to pick out a candle?
not hard at all!
Yankee candles are found in lots of different stores, but these tips could apply to any candles, fyi
anyway
the first thing your wonderful self does is walk yourself up to dem candles shelves! Whew!
pick up any pleasant candle BY THE BASE AND NOT THE LID YOU CHILD, then take off said lid and (OK this is gonna sound weird, but) sniff the lid! usually the lids have a stronger, lasting smell, and you’ll be able to pick up more fragrance notes from the lid than from sniffing the wax.
Repeat this process until you find one you like!
Or until you can’t smell anything anymore! If that’s the case, your wonderful self should go sniff some coffee beans, to clear your fragrance palette!
Hooray!
hey candle fans! My name is Nikki and I love candles. Yankee candles. I know that the last thing anyone needs is some bitch coming up and telling them, “everything you’re doing with your candles is wrong and you should feel bad!” but I'm sorry for your loss :c even if it was awhile ago, this memoriam is beautiful and touching is what I’m here to do! I’m pretty well versed in Yankee candle products, so if you need any help picking out new fragrances or would like tips on how to get the most out of your expensive-ass candles, I’m happy to oblige! (Or you could go to a store. That’s cool too.)
