Princess Tutu and Corresponding Ballets Companion
So you can check out my original master-post here …http://rachelbethhines.tumblr.com/post/139014798571/princess-tutu-and-corresponding-ballets-master
But there were a few ballets that were skipped over for one reason or another. So here’s the ones that related to the show but didn’t make the final cut.
Pictures at an Exhibition
The music from Mussorgsky’s suite is all over the show, but the ballet is a fairly new one that hasn’t been officially recorded/released. I was lucky enough to see it performed in New York for my birthday. I tried to purchase a copy but they weren’t selling the performance. I have compiled some clips for you to enjoy though.
Afternoon of a Faun
This ballet is preformed by Femio during the episode Crime and Punishment.
La Fille mal gardée
The oldest surviving ballet. Premiered in 1789 and is still in production today.
Dance of the Hours
Romeo and Juliet
There are multiple versions of this ballet. Same music different choreography. I simply posted the most well known version, but my personal favorite version is by Jean-Christophe Maillot, found here …
