             this probably won’t be neatly formatted ( yet ) as i wanna ramble per-say. but yeah. this is in regards to t//ouya’s relationship to s//houto. which i’ll be discussing in the read-more ! triggers listed below.

as noted, touya was deemed to have great potential, but wasn’t “perfect” in endeavor’s eyes. only almost. meaning before that, he had devoted all his attention and energy towards touya’s training. while it was excruciating and taxing, it was still attention which he had craved from his father figure. however, once his other siblings were born the focus put on him became less and less. time spent not training was usually with his other siblings ( whether it be playing together, etc. ) and while he loved spending time with fuyumi and natsuo, and grandmother. this made him feel neglected. and he was. his quirk-training became less frequent, maybe once a week at that, cause of his persistence to do better. but he was told countless his times his body wasn’t capable of handling the extreme heat his fire-quirk produced ( as like natsuo, his body was more well-suited to the cold than heat. ) overusing his quirk lead to his skin to experience burning sensations, along with actual sizzling. his training stopped for reasons of his quirk not being good enough and also for his well-being, which his mother insisted on and then, after shouto’s quirk developed, it stopped completely. that made touya upset, to say the least. why wasn’t he good enough anymore? thrown to the side like he never mattered in the first place, like he never had potential at all. because of all the training shouto did, he never spent much time with his youngest brother, but he felt several conflicting feelings towards him. he always overheard enji talk of all the “promise” he had. promise he once had. he was the perfect one, the gifted one, everything he was built up to be and it all came crashing down just like that. he didn’t feel any type of ill-feelings towards his other siblings / or his mother. but with shouto and enji? he definitely experiences the most resentment for many reasons. 

now, i say their relationship is severely complicated cause of what i infer from this one panel.

doesn’t he almost look happy that shouto failed to rescue bakugou? i’d say he looks pretty satisfied, even kinda gloats by saying “ oh. how sad.” cause the “gifted and perfect one” in his eyes, finally failed at something. this could all be subject to change but i think i’m onto something here? maybe?

             at the mere sight of this man’s face nostalgia hits hard, sets deep within brittle bones ; a part of the past desperately tried to remain erased, but it’ll always be apart of you. nightly strolls were meant to clear your head, not bring back more ( though not always ) unwanted memories. he swallows down the lump in his throat now, anxiety starting to surface, albeit his face shows a whole new different demeanor than what he truly feels. an old force of habit.  “ you know. it’s pretty idiotic walking around at night this day and age. don’t ya think? ” in the era of a damned fool who hadn’t been to scratch the surface of the true meaning of heroism. what irony. his tone is slightly smug, the stitched ends of lips curling into an faint smile, before it fades all together. “ what’s your business here? ” and for his sake, secretly dabi hopes he doesn’t wander any closer.

           there was once a time where you once thought that way too. gentle in your temperament, a thought once unfathomable , taking another life, as you only live one after all ; hearing it again though, a chuckles flutters past stitched lips, sarcastic in nature, almost if mocking the other without a single care. ❛really now? but seriously … how long is that gonna last for ya, hawks?  ❜ dabi was genuinely curious. heroes didn’t get the choice. neither did villains sometimes. sadly not all lives could spared or taken the time to be carefully thought about, that’s just how it is. why — with just a mere snap of his finger, honing flames cruel and an soulless blue, he could take many in an instant ; and he has before, without an ounce of hesitation. he’s broken free of those pesky “gentle” shackles long ago.
