Question - how do I add the NHL27 graphic on top? We need a Captain Canada version.
IIHF MALE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
OMG, when Ivar Stenberg wears bucket, he does look like the son of Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith.
Might be on the minority here, but why don’t we have more fics portrait Rick as a good parent?
I’m surprised by the majority of the villain arc haha.
I think Rick is just a guy with high standards and too passionate when focusing on something. But usually those people drive results and become successful.
The fact that Mack did not break down from the pressure (pressure that could be insane to the outside world - like that running uphill story, in fact he said Thanks Dada afterwards) means that Rick understands what makes his son tick and he worked out a way to motivate him rather than burn him out. To me this is love in being thoughtful as well as good parenting in maintaining a trusting relationship. How many parents really spend time to be thoughtful about the upbringing of their kids versus the easy route of just taking care things?
Also the time when he air out Mack being “inconsolable” - my takeaway from it is 1) wow, thanks for showing the human and vulnerable side of Mack to public; 2) he’s comfortable of his son being “vulnerable” and comfortable of the public knowing that. To me that’s very healthy that Mack does not have to put up a strong face with his family.
Of course, Robyn aka “he doesn’t scare me” is always there to wake him up when he’s too zoomed in.
There are no perfect parents existing on earth, but Rick and Robyn may just be what Mack needs for what he wants to achieve in life.
My one big observation and reflection from the Worlds - Willmack made their connections looks so easy!
Genuinely, I thought Smith to Celebrini, Celebrini to Smith was normal, I thought the announcers were exaggerating with the “ABSOLUTE MAGIC”, until I watched Canada at Worlds when no one seems to be able to connect with Mack at times!
Oh Mack for sure fall for the crazy hockey connection, the one person who can keep up with him and have the same vision to finally allow him to make some diabolical plays! No wonder he’s deep into this ping pong hockey now!

Mack’s heat check / confidence test
As I go through all my clips, I remember he does this trick every warm up.
This is for anyone who is interested in sports science / psychology. Athletes often do some extremely tricky or ridiculous moves pre-game or in warm ups as a “heat check or confidence test”. If they managed, it gave them the confidence that they are on a hot streak today, on fire. This is a positive psychological confirmation, and things get “easier” for them in the actual game. If not, then because these moves are diabolical anyway, it doesn’t hurt, “I’m just my normal self today”.
Interestingly, Steph Curry is very famous for his pregame routine with very long/trick shots too. He ends his ritual with a long tunnel shot. It’s documented that he takes 40-footers near the end of his pregame routine and even throwing ~80-foot shots in practice.
So all I want to say is, I think this is Mack’s own version of “heat check”.
P.S. Among all five games I watched, he managed to catch the puck once in warm up for the game against Slovakia. He scored 1 goal 1 assist that game.
Thanks for reading!
May.30th CAN vs FIN
You see how exhausted he was here, and then what? He got maybe 40 seconds of break before he had to go again…
O Captain…
May.30th CAN vs FIN
This is the third period.
They work so hard out of him, he became a mouth breather!
Also I didn’t see him breathing this hard on the bench (like the shoulders are also involved) in previous games…
May.30th CAN vs FIN
Poor Mack, he tried everything, smelling salt again, already changed his blades twice, now change the stick as well…

“He is 19, right?”
“Young”
“Who is 19?”
“Celebrini”
“And he is the Captain?”

May.30th CAN vs FIN
Warm up 4️⃣
A bit more puck handling…
It’s very hard to follow his movement even though by the semi I kind of familiar with his routine…

Warm up 2️⃣
Does he gather the pucks for Sharks warm up as well? Or is this a Captain duty on Team Canada?🤔
