I just wanted to make some edits and draw them kissing. With tongue.
Tim is really quiet because he doesn't wanna bother himself with problems, but he is not less judgemental of Xeno’s current madness and Stanley's objectively obsessive loyalty. And Stanley is no idiot, he can feel himself being judged by Tim.
He is insidious in a way, he fucks with Stanley's head like it's an Olympic sport when Stanley decided to go crazy or indulge Xeno in his world domination plans way too much.
Their relationship is a bit volatile.
For Stanley, Timothy is:
Don't worry, I'll make you worry.
That's how Tim's taste like for Stanley. He can get under Stanley's skin, like a puzzle that is probably incomplete and cannot be solved by his sniper's patience or soldier strength.
"You think that I'm gonna fuch with your head, well, you're absolutely right. "
Stanley's world-view of love was pretty simple. It was clear, if unspoken, with Xeno. He knew exactly where he stood. A protector, the admirer of the brightest star. He was useful and involved in his life, even if he wanted more. (He doesn’t communicate well either, he is, unfortunately, a man.)
However, Tim didn't need him, he was capricious and unimpressionable. He gave silent treatment, made humbling observations that cut Stanley's core, and was the one thing that Stanley couldn't predict.
"Dam sure I'll never let you know where you stan.d"
Yet, this was the allure. In this Au- oc world- Stanley and Xeno never got to talk about their feelings or anything, so they were kinda pinning, kinda not. Leaving them both emotionally exhausted and confused.
With Xeno, Stanley was forever looking up, gazing at a distant star that wanted so much more than he could give. In his own eyes, he wasn't enough for Xeno, Stan was useful, of course, but how can be useful enough for a man that wanted everything? Physical strength is not gonna take him to the moon.
There's lot of StanXeno and stuff in my worldbuilding because- well Stanley is so bound to Xeno that taking that from him is erasing a really important part of him.
In contrast.
With Timothy, Stanley was grounded, often exasperated, but seen. Tim was attainable, wasn't as passionate about science as Xeno was, and could ignore the only love rival Stanley's never conquered. He felt a bit more real and less of a bewitching creature that Stan admired. Timothy's lazy fingers in his dog tags, his concern about his health, the willingness in putting up with him even when Tim is known to not care about people or getting into deep relationships. It was a kind of devotion that didn't require worship. In Stanley's chaotic world this was; practical, sane, and intimate.
Timothy didn't need him the way he was always needed. That required someone more ambitious. He left him feeling like a "shell of a man", stripping Stanley of his military, capable exterior to find the man underneath. A man that maybe Stanley didn't know so well (if he did, he would've confessed to Xeno when he was 13), but Tim decided to keep him.
