Leroy Jethro Gibbs You're not Abby, Part 2 You're Late Your Husband is here, Part 2 The what now?!, Part 2 Second Chances
The what now?! - Part 2
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader
A/N: You’ll find a surprise while reading, hope you like it. Apologies for the delay, I had time off and now I’ve taken on an apprenticeship. So a little busy also got sucked into the world of The Pitt.
Part 1
Things were moving along quite well with the pregnancy, you were now seven months pregnant and feeling it. You had been put on desk duty not that you were in the line of fire since finding out about pending motherhood.
Even if you were allowed you didn’t want to fight Gibbs on his over protectiveness regarding you and the baby. And if you were truly honest with yourself, you didn’t want to put yourself in that situation either.
This baby was a miracle in your eyes, a once impossibility that suddenly became possible. You followed all the rules to the letter, plenty of rest, no raw eggs, no coffee even decaf, the list went on, but if there was something you could do to keep this baby strong and healthy you were doing it especially since your pregnancy was classed as geriatric.
After telling Gibbs, things didn’t seem to change, not straight away at least. He didn’t immediately label what you two had and ask you to move in. You both had residences of your own and many things to work out before the baby arrived, but one thing you knew for sure was you were not doing this alone. Gibbs had made it abundantly clear that he was all in. He didn’t care if he’d have to change diapers at 2am or do the night time feedings. He wanted to be part of it all, and for that you were so happy.
Surprisingly during a case Gibbs had stepped away and made the time for your anatomy scan. This was the first time you both got to see the baby. Seeing the ultrasound monitor and looking at your baby moving around was breathtaking, not even the small bump that you fashioned had made it real for you, not until that moment you both watched the screen. Gibbs must have felt the same way as his hand gentle reached for yours squeezing ever so slightly when the doctor let the heartbeat fill the room.
You’d cried so much since finding out you were having this baby. It didn’t even have to be anything significant, but you’d end up sniffling at something or other. Stupid hormones were taking you through a whirlwind the doctors weren’t kidding when they said it was to be expected.
NCIS
You had been summoned to your colleagues house, but he was more like a brother/uncle all rolled into one. He’d called for a get together seeing as you couldn’t attend the last case in New Mexico due to an OB appointment.
Unfortunately Gibbs and his team were just finishing up a case, so he couldn’t attend either but he did say that he would head over as soon as he was done. Over the last few months the two teams had got more acquainted, going as far as claiming uncle/aunt or godparent status without your input and making bets on names but it was all in good faith and you were happy they got along. It felt like you were one big family and this baby would be at the centre of it.
Coming out of your thoughts you end up looking up at the grand house, you smiled and slowly manoeuvred yourself out of the car.
“Y/N!” You hear being called from the front door. Their foot steps getting closer.
Pulling your favourite technical analyst into a hug “Hey Pen”. You knew it was her organisational skills that helped put this thing together short notice.
She soon pulled away and gave you a once over. “Oh look at you, you are absolutely glowing!” You chuckled at the comment because you felt far from glowing, in fact your feet were swollen and the glow that she spoke of was most sweat in this summer heat. It was so hot and stuffy since you’d moved further along in the pregnancy.
“Tell that to my feet. I’m so glad it’s summer and I can wear sandals, because I’m pretty sure my other shoes don’t fit anymore.” You replied jokingly.
“Let’s get you inside. We will have your feet up and yourself fed in no time.” The bubbly blonde hooked her arm in yours and lead you towards the front door.
NCIS
“SURPRISE!!” Multiple voices shouted as you walked into the living room.
You almost let out a scream but held it in enough for just a small yelp to escape. You looked at your team, no your family and shook your head in disbelief. Banners and balloons were pinned to the walls, there were presents stacked on a table by the window and no doubt this little shindig had food, provided by caterers you were certain.
It wasn’t long before a sash was placed over your head, looking down it read ‘mommy to be’. You couldn’t keep the smile off your face as you approached everyone with a hug and a kiss to the cheek.
The girls in your team had apparently banded together and organised a baby shower for you. It made your heart burst and if you slipped a tear or two they never said anything when they told you.
“I can’t believe you guys did this” you said close to tears yet again. JJ gave your wrist a squeeze, knowing she knew exactly how you felt. You gave her a grateful smile.
“Rossi volunteered his place, the food is on him. Morgan and Hotch offered the muscle to get this stuff back to your place.” She said pointing to the presents off to your left. “And wonderful Garcia here organised most of it. The rest of us just arrived when told” Prentiss chuckled after she explained everything.
“Lookin’ good mama” you heard over your shoulder, turning around you instantly wrapped your arms around the handsome Derek Morgan. “Where’s my favourite Morgan?” You ask teasingly pulling back slightly. “Oh that’s cold, but I’ll let it go…just this once” he laughed gently while giving you a wink and then nods his head to the kitchen area. Following his gaze you can see little Hank in the arms of Spencer.
NCIS
After making your way around to everyone and catching up, and at the behest of your team you had played a couple of games and opened the gifts they had bought for both you and baby. You decided to take a well deserved rest. Your feet were hurting and the baby seemed to have made it a mission to do some star jumps to the point of being uncomfortable. You were chilling out with a cold drink when someone stepped in front of you.
“How you doing Kiddo?”
You chuckled at the nickname, you were far from being a kid but you never called him out. Smiling at one of the BAU founders, you smiled “I’m wiped, this baby growing business is hard” putting a hand to your protruding belly for emphasis.
“Well if you’ve got some energy left, we’ve got one last thing to give you” the elder Italian held his hand out for you to help you up.
“Nooo…you guys have gifted enough. I don’t know where I’m going to store it all, let alone where I’m going to put the baby.” You laughed at the thought.
“It’s fine, plus this one isn’t from us” he stated as he guided you towards the garden with his arm wrapped around your waist. You noticed that everyone else had gathered there too, then you realised he had said the gift wasn’t from them, looking back at Dave you wanted to ask but a few familiar faces caught your eye.
You locked eyes with the man who helped create life with you. Standing with his team with a huge smile on his face and you couldn’t help smile back. You were so happy he was able to come even if he missed most of the shower. He stepped closer towards you and pulled you in close while kissing your temple and like you had become accustomed to he place his hand on your bump.
You didn’t know how long you stood like that, but it was soon interrupted by his senior field agent Dinozzo. Breaking out of your bubble, Gibbs stepped back.
“This was a great present, thanks guys” at that everyone laughed quietly.
Gibbs was the one to interrupt though “Our arrival wasn’t the gift Y/N. You would have received this even if we hadn’t closed the case.”
“Oh…then what….” Everyone broke apart and your sentence halted as you spotted a delicate and detailed crib sitting in the middle of the garden. It was beautiful, had patterns carved into the woodwork that you just knew was made by the man standing next to you. If he could build a boat in his basement, he could definitely make a crib for your baby. There was no stopping the tears this time and you didn’t even try to hold them back.
You quickly grabbed his face and didn’t hold back as you kissed him. You parted briefly and soon after you were distracted by Ducky asking how you were getting on and then it was McGee saying he’d bought you an all singing all dancing baby monitor, which in fact would work well with Garcias system…something electronic and clever, you weren’t quite sure to be honest. But as long it meant your little one was safe you didn’t care and the tech wizards offered to set it all up, so you just said yes.
Everyone had bought something, diapers and clothes, baby swing, teddies, toys. You were struggling to think where the baby would go once all these items were placed in the nursery. But you were extremely grateful to have all these people care.
Eventually you ended up back next to Gibbs while he conversed with Rossi, you were sure they were exchanging stories about Marine life, you didn’t pry. Once he felt you close his arm immediately enclosed around your waist bringing you closer, he had been showing more and more PDA recently and you were no closer to defining what you were as a couple. However, at this moment as you looked around at your peers, it didn’t matter. Your lives would be forever entwined and that was perfectly okay with you.
Second Chances
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader
Warning: Death
A/N: Okay I will admit I’m not sure what made me write this. It was two separate fics and I ended up combining them. Fingers crossed it’s okay. This one is quite long fair warning.
“Shots fired, we have an Agent down”
The bullpen was quiet. DiNozzo hadn’t cracked a movie reference since they’d returned. McGee was quietly sitting as his desk and Gibbs…well Gibbs was slightly different.
Maybe it was the worry of losing another of his agents. Hearing the gunshots and watching the blood pool around your body would be forever ingrained in his mind.
He’d lost Kate and now you. Only this time it was much worse as he didn’t have to chase a terrorist to avenge your death, he’d killed the suspect on his way to you. The worst part of it all was that he loved you and now he wouldn’t ever get the chance to tell you how he felt.
He’d been down to autopsy but only made it as far as the doors. He didn’t have the strength to go inside and see you yet. To be another cold body on the slab.
He remembered your smile, your laugh and if he closed his eyes for just a moment, he could actually believe you were still in the room. You’d be fighting with Tony about the best movie or some computer speak that McGee understood but went over his head and lastly Ziva and you would be just talking about random things, you were like a sibling to the mossad officer.
“We need medical assistance now!”

Jethro walked back to you, determined and in a bad mood. He was grateful that you had already packed and could leave immediately.
The sooner you were out of the hospital, the better. Then you'd only have to act in front of each other and not in front of the entire hospital staff.
"Ready?" Gibbs grumbled at you as he entered your room and took your bag. "Yes," was your quiet and completely irritated reply. "What's WRONG with him all of a sudden?" you thought as you stood rooted to the spot and watched him turn around and immediately leave the room.
You were still dizzy from the blow to the head, but you hurried to follow him.
"We wish you both all the best and good luck!!" the nurses called after you as the elevator doors closed.
Without a word, Jethro packed your suitcase into the trunk while you climbed in on the passenger side. And the ride was correspondingly quiet—wherever it might lead.
After a while, you realized this wasn't the direction of your apartment. "Where are you going?" you asked him quietly. "Home," was his curt reply.
Those two words had to be enough for you, because he wasn't willing to say anything more. Instead, he concentrated on the traffic and thought about how to explain your current situation to you.
You were legally married to each other, and he wanted nothing more than that, but he had to fight it. Because his wishes weren't yours, and he had to accept that.
"What have I ever done to deserve this torture?" ran through his mind. He wanted to pull you into his arms and kiss you senseless until you couldn't help but stay with him.
But that wasn't an option. Your wishes were more important to him than his. So he resigned himself to his fate — even if it broke his heart into a thousand pieces.
He was so engrossed in his thoughts that he didn't notice you becoming increasingly restless. "What's going on? Where is he taking me? He seems so different, so distant," you thought worriedly. Because, for the life of you, you couldn't explain his changed behavior.
But you already arrived at Gibbs' house. He glanced at you and explained briefly: "You're staying with me for now."
Then he got out, grabbed your suitcase, and went into the house, firmly assuming you were following him.
Hesitantly, you went after him, noticing that his front door wasn't locked. Very odd. But knowing your boss, he certainly had his reasons for it.
The house's furnishings were functional. They were practically a spitting image of the owner. He walked through the rooms, explained what each room was or where it led, and then went up the stairs.
The first room on the left was the bathroom, the room next to it was the guest room and there were also two doors on the other side of the hall. Opposite the guest room was a second guest room, and next to it... "This is my room. If you need anything at night, you'll probably find me in the living room or the basement," Gibbs explained succinctly.
"Why isn't he sleeping in his own bed?" you wondered. But his dismissive expression and grumpy demeanor suggested you shouldn't ask.
He opened the door to the guest room diagonally across from his room. "You'll be staying here during your recovery and until we’ve resolved the current situation," he said, placing your suitcase on the bed for you to unpack.
You had a thousand questions, but couldn't think of any. To clear your mind, you unpacked while he went down to his basement.
A while later, you found him right there. Wearing his old work clothes, he was sanding the wood of the boat with concentration and almost loving care. The quiet, steady sound had a calming and clarifying effect. Maybe you should learn to build boats too? Maybe he would even teach you how?
But first, you needed to know what had upset him so much. So you gathered your courage and spoke quietly to him: "I'm done unpacking, but..."
When Jethro heard your voice, he stopped mid-movement. Then he asked just as quietly: "But WHAT?"
He already had an idea about what you wanted to know. But he wanted to hear it from you.
Wringing your hands, you wondered if you should really ask him, but you needed clarity: "What's wrong? Why are you suddenly in such a bad mood?" It didn't make sense to you.
He turned to you, stared at you with a steady gaze, and told you, "Because we are actually legally married."
Wow, that took some time to sink in. You hadn't expected that, but you didn't think it was that bad.
Actually, you thought it was quite good.
A hopeful smile crept across your face as he threw the sanding block into the corner and hissed in a biting tone, "Congratulations on your marriage, MRS. GIBBS."

The what now?!
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader Warning: Mention of injury
A/N: Things have been a bit busier at work recently. But here is a new fic that popped into my head. Not sure where it came from, I plan for a small multi chapter though.
The day had started out like any other, gathering evidence and reading people’s behaviour to find the bad guy, this time your team was closing in on a terrorist.
The suspect had threatened to blow up a well populated area, knowing the severity of the situation you did your best to clear out the building. The injuries were minimal but you and a couple of others were hit by stray shrapnel.
You hadn’t realised it at first as nothing hurt, it was only when you started feeling faint that you took notice that your stomach hurt. Glancing down the piece metal protruding from your abdomen alerted yourself and the others that you needed medical attention. The blood was spreading and then things went dark.
You’re not Abby - Part 2
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader Warning: None
Here you were again settling into a lab that wasn’t your own. Although the room was familiar nothing was yours and everything was in the wrong place, but you were only covering for a week this time. Abby was going to some conference on the other side of the country, which meant Vance called you in again.
Someone must have warned Abby that you were covering her again as you distinctly notice the lack of post-it notes this time around. You quickly gave Major Mass Spec the evil eye, that machine was the bane of your existence last time you were here. Nothing short of threatening made that thing work, it was an impressive feat to have a machine be so loyal and be such a royal pain in the ass to everyone else.
The manual was no where in sight, although you didn’t expect to see it again. Not when you’d shredded half the instructions in it. You’d blame it on the gremlins if anyone asked, they didn’t really expect you to follow instructions taken from the classic 80s film and if they did it was more for yourself than the computer. You barely drank anything other than coffee, you didn’t eat after midnight and if you could you’d spend your time locked inside.
One thing that did make you happy was seeing those deep blue eyes that worked in the same building. It definitely helped that he was great to look at, man of few words and had a killer smile to rub in how perfect he was.
“Your Husband is here” - Part 2
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader
Warning: None
Maybe this little prank had gone a little far but you had been good friends for years. Through working with Tobias Fornell you met Gibbs and became witness to their weird bromance?. You slowly got to know the man, so long in fact that you’d even met all of his ex-wives. Although Diane was an exception as she was married to Tobias when you’d met and who was coincidently also Gibbs ex-wife.
You’d shown Gibbs a few fishing spots that you’d gone to with your own father when Tobias had asked and obviously you came across each other in your line of work. Working for the FBI and with Fornell often your paths crossed. He had become a close friend over the years and it did amuse you how much people didn’t know about the man.
Now here you were standing in the middle of his office trying to convince him that he had to attend a Gala. For one it was pay back and two you really did need a date and three it was his fault that you didn’t have a date due to his announcement that you were his new wife, fifth time being the charm as the saying goes.
But herein lies the problem. He wouldn’t agree.
“Nope” Gibbs replies while shaking his head, you kept staring at him hoping that it would make him change his mind but he was adamant.
“No..” he continued with the unwanted answer but you persisted. Finally exasperatedly you whisper to him “You got us into this mess, so be the dutiful husband you claim to be and escort me to the Gala. Apparently it’s wrong to ask men out for a date when I’m married.” At the last part you raised an eyebrow at him.

He felt like he was going crazy and abandoning you. Someone had tried to kill you less than an hour ago, and he couldn't shake that off so easily.
Gibbs was worried about you, but he was rational enough to know that a stern look wouldn't intimidate the woman. So he tried to reach her soft, understanding side, looking at her pleadingly and pitifully.
"Surely no woman can resist that faithful puppy-dog look from your impressive eyes..." she stated in a gentle voice with a soft laugh.
"I can see that you have very strong feelings for the patient. Are you her husband?" she asked.
Jethro glanced briefly at his shoes and then back at her. "From the looks of it...yes," he answered cautiously.
She frowned briefly, but then nodded: "She's certainly very lucky."
Gibbs gave her a pained smile and thought to himself: "If only she knew..." "I'd love to have such a loving, caring husband...do you have a brother?" she asked with a wink.
"No, he doesn't. But he'll be free again soon," Jenny's voice suddenly sounded behind them.
Gibbs turned around and saw Jenny standing before them with a self-satisfied, yet threatening smile.
"But don't get your hopes up, because then he'll be mine," she continued, addressing the nurse.
She couldn't believe what she had just heard. It was obvious to her that Jethro only had eyes for his wife.
He, however, was furious.
"Please excuse us. I need to speak to the lady for a moment and apparently clarify something," he said firmly, grabbing Jenny's upper arm and dragging her a few meters out of earshot.
Confident of victory, she smiled at him, but his cold gaze should have frozen her to ice.
"Don't you dare interfere in our relationship. It's none of your business," he threatened.
But Shepard was unfazed and snorted contemptuously. "Oh, Jethro, stop it. Don't act like you care about her and this marriage."
With that, she had put her finger into a wide-open, fresh wound that hurt like hell. Trying to keep his cool, he narrowed his eyes and replied quietly, "Yes, this marriage wasn't planned. But it's entirely OUR business."
She laughed maliciously, "Of course it's YOUR business. But tell me: how long do you think it will last this time? A month, or maybe even two?"
Her tone was sharp, and Jethro began to become seriously worried about you. He knew what she was capable of, and his protectiveness toward you grew exponentially.
Simultaneously, his hatred for her grew, and he gradually began to feel that this wouldn't end well.
At that moment, your attending physician approached him: "Mr. Gibbs? May I speak with you for a moment?"
Jethro looked at the man sharply, but could not tell whether he brought positive or negative news.
"Oh God, please let it be good news," he mentally pleaded from the depths of his heart, his fear for you rising.
"Yes, of course. I'll come," he answered the doctor.
But first, he had something to get off his chest. So he turned back to Jenny, looked her straight in the eye, and said with contempt, "I can't believe I ever found anything special about you."
With that, he turned around, left her standing there, and walked to the doctor. She gasped in shock and finally stormed out of the hospital.
"The final word on this matter hasn't been spoken yet, I'll make sure of that. You're mine and you still love me. You just don't want to admit it. But I'll prove it to you," Shepard thought angrily and began to plot how to drive a wedge between you.
Meanwhile, the doctor on duty informed the boss of your findings: "Mr. Gibbs, first things first: she's doing well considering the circumstances."
Gibbs exhaled with relief: "Thank goodness!"
Matthews nodded: "Yes, she got lucky. She has a bump from a blow to the head and will have a headache for a few days. Otherwise, her throat is slightly bruised and she has bruises from choking, but that too will completely disappear in the next few days. In short: she'll make a full recovery."
"That's good news, thank you."
"No problem. We'll keep her here overnight just to be safe. Are there any relatives we should inform?" Matthews asked.
Now things were getting difficult. What should Gibbs tell him? You had no relatives, he knew that. But he couldn't yet verify whether your marriage was actually legally binding.
No matter. He decided to go with the facts for now and therefore answered correctly:
"No, she has no relatives other than me."
The doctor looked at him, confused: "I assume you're her boss?"
Gibbs nodded in confirmation: "Yes."
Then he added: "And her husband."

Two desks, one future - Chapter 1
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Gibbs x reader
Warnings: none
This morning, the entire NCIS staff had to gather in the large meeting room because the director had an announcement to make.
You all had no idea what to expect and were correspondingly curious. Your mood was also very tense.
Everyone wondered what the reason for this action was. But it had to be something bigger, because even Gibbs was participating.
But you and your colleagues couldn't get any further with your speculations before Director Vance appeared on the podium and the room became quiet.
He looked around and then began his speech in a routine manner:
"Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Since you're all probably wondering why we're gathered here, I won't keep you guessing any longer."
He paused for a moment and it was so silent that you could have heard a pin drop.
Then he took a deep breath and continued:
"Our premises will be undergoing renovations over the next two weeks. This means we'll have to be closer together during that time."
Murmurs could be heard throughout the room, steadily growing louder.
"Gentlemen!" Vance called to you, urging you to be quiet. His gaze hardened to nip any resistance in the bud.
Then he continued: "To avoid arguments, I've taken the trouble to draw up a seating plan. EVERYONE has to adhere to it. And when I say EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE."
As he finished his last sentence, the director looked directly in your direction. "Me? What have I done?" you asked yourself nervously.
But then a deep growl sounded diagonally behind you, clearly expressing the displeasure of the owner of the voice.
Of course. Gibbs. You could pick out his voice among thousands, because it gave you goosebumps every time. There was something about his voice that got under your skin and touched your very core.
And the man himself was also a sight to behold. Tall, slim, well-built, salt and pepper hair, bright steel-blue eyes you could drown in, and a charisma that was absolutely impressive and stunning…and that tolerated no contradiction.
It didn't surprise you that women fell at his feet in droves and ran after him. Many of his colleagues envied him for that. But he...he ignored most women.
He preferred to work alone on his boat in the basement of his house. And only a few women managed to capture his attention enough for him to take a second look and maybe even go out with them.
A behavior that raised some questions, but no one dared to ask them. But his entire demeanor and the way he carried himself proved that he was well aware of his appearance and, above all, his effect on women.
Then another voice abruptly pulled you out of your thoughts...Vance.
"I'm asking the team leaders to come here and pick up the seating charts. After that, you will be assigned your workstations for the next two weeks. This reassignment is effective IMMEDIATELY."
He looked around one last time, smoothed his jacket, and said goodbye: "Thank you for your attention."
He then distributed the charts and returned to his office, while the individual teams gathered around their respective team leaders.
Your boss informed each of your colleagues one by one about their temporary seating and roommates, until you were the last one left.
The last one...not a good feeling. Anxiety and concern spread through you. "Who will be sharing my room? I hope it's someone nice and sociable, someone I can maybe chat with for a few sentences and have a laugh," you hoped.
But somehow Sally didn't look particularly positive, but rather pitying. Why?
She took a deep breath, gently placed a hand on your shoulder, and said, "Y/N. You'll be staying on the second floor in room 223 for the next two weeks."
It was a nice and large room; it could have been worse. You smiled at her confidently. "The room is great, thank you!"
She sighed. "Let's see if you're still happy in a minute. Because the room is a small compensation for your roommate."
"Compensation?" you asked her, now unsure. Who could be so unbearable that others had to be compensated for their enforced company?
"Yes, compensation," she continued. "Because he's not at all thrilled about the whole thing and will probably make you feel it."
"And who is it?" you finally wanted to know curiously.
Sally gently and amicably brushed a stray strand of hair from your face. She had to encourage herself, because she didn't like sharing what she had to tell you.
Sally gently and kindly brushed a loose strand of hair from your face. She had to encourage herself, because she didn’t like to share what she had to tell you.
But she had no influence on Vance who refused to listen.
Finally, she looked you straight in the eyes and said simply, "It's Gibbs."

“Your Husband is here”
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader
Warnings: None
”Hey Y/N, your husband is here” said one of your Agents.
“Oh yeah what does my hypothetical husband look like” you asked while continuing to look down at your report.
“Salt and pepper hair, Blue eyes, quite tall, has a mean stare.”
”Huh?” you responded confusedly. They were very specific in their description and when you looked up Gibbs was there with a very proud look on his face, smirking away.
“Gibbs….what did you do..?” You asked slowly.
“Is that how you greet your husband, come on! We’re newlyweds and I came to visit my wife at work” Gibbs smirk got even bigger as he saw your face. You glanced over his shoulder to see your Agent still watching the two of you. He definitely did this on purpose, he was getting back at you for stealing his case.
He wasn’t getting away with this that easily. So you decided to play along. “Oh babe, that’s so sweet.” You put your hand to his cheek and gently pinched it, then filled the silence with “I must have newlywed brain. It just slipped my mind, it must be the missing wedding ring” you emphasise this by waving your ringless hand in front of him for everyone else to see as well.
He squinted his eyes at your mischievous grin, almost making him regret this, almost.
You're Late
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader Warnings: None
You had only asked for one thing and that was to have one night this month uninterrupted with Gibbs. You never asked anything of the man as you knew if he wasn’t married to you, he was married to his job.
But today of all days he had yet to close the case and it was starting to eat into your planned Date Night. Put on some nice clothes, maybe have a little alcohol and then back to the house to have some fun. Only this wasn’t going as planned you were not dressed up, you’d had nothing to drink and you were not having fun seeing as your date had yet to break the suspect.
So here you were, facing the suspect yourself. You’d stormed to the office building and interrupted a silent interview. Silent being that the suspect was yet to speak and Gibbs was waiting him out.
Facing your husband you ask “Do you know what time it is?” You raised your eyebrow as the man in front of you was going to placate you somehow, but you didn’t give him chance.
“I asked for one thing and you promised”
“Can we take this outside” Gibbs replied back more gentle than you expected. But the moment was ruined when you heard the suspect start to mock your husband.
“Do you mind?…you’re ruining date night!” you raised your voice at the suspect. You turned your body and raised an eyebrow while crossing your arms. You were so done with the situation
Looking him over you quickly got a read on him. He would think twice about messing with you and your date nights.
“Does your wife know that you’re having an affair with your subordinate?” You chuckled as the man gulped just slightly and clenched his hands. You were getting somewhere. “No, no I don’t think she does. But I’ll tell you a secret, she already knows. She’s leaving you, and when she does she’s taking everything with her. Everything. And your bit on the side got you to be her patsy in the end, just like she planned.”
At the word patsy, the suspect looked back at you confused. You waited for him to figure it out.
“No, no it was Katie…she…”
You stopped listening after that. You leaned towards your husband and whispered “1 hour” and you quietly left the room knowing that a confession was coming.

Nick Torres was standing in the observation room when he saw the interruption. He couldn’t believe his eyes as he watched his boss just sit there and watch someone interrupt his interrogation and then speak to the suspect no less!
The Gibbs he knew wouldn’t stand for that and he’d punished them for less. The head slap the first time was a decent reminder.
“What just happened?! No one breaks Rule 22! Gibbs had me on coffee duty for a week just for walking in and we caught the guy.” Torres exclaimed
He could only turn to McGee and get his colleagues input.
“Come on McGee, she must be absolutely crazy or pyscho to do that. Actually it was impressive but she’s one crazy woman”
He didn’t get to say anything else when he felt a powerful whack against the back of his head. He immediately and instantly said “Gibbs, I didn’t mean…”
“Yeah…what did you mean?”
“Just that she’s one scary woman…” Torres started to say but at the stare he was getting from Gibbs he quickly continued on getting the idea that he didn’t like the insult against his wife. “I mean she figured out the suspect that’s got to be some kind of skill. It’s kind of scary you know”
“I know, it’s why I married her” Gibbs replied back. The silver haired man handed the file to McGee and then walked back out of the observation room, he loved you endlessly but he didn’t want to push his luck now. Torres was right you was scary, that’s precisely why he was heading home to keep his promise.

Gibbs had left the paperwork for McGee and Torres to complete. He could always hand in the file to Vance in the morning. He was on a time crunch to get home and keep the promise he made his wife.
He chuckled when he thought back to when you entered the interrogation room, immediately prepared to shout at the offender for interrupting but quickly stopped when he realized it was you. It was definitely unexpected and he wanted to explain privately but you didn't let him and in the end you got the job done. He was rather impressed the guy cracked so quick.
Entering the house he noticed music coming from upstairs and headed that way. He was pretty sure that you were getting ready and his suspicions were confirmed when he saw you all dressed up and ready to go.
"You're late" you say to him teasingly
The silver head fox looked at his watch and smirked "2 minutes and that was because your little show in interrogation caused Torres to realise how scary you are. In fact I think the word psycho was used to describe you." he chuckled as you didn't look insulted but rather proud of yourself. Seeing that face made him realise something and he decided to express it openly "I love you, you crazy woman. Don’t change."
The moment was finished with a kiss and then you were heading out.
You're not Abby
Pairing: Gibbs x Reader Warnings: None
“You’re not Abby” came a voice from behind you.
“No I’m not. I think the 50 page manual she left with instructions on how NOT to wreck her lab and the 100s of post it notes would agree with you.” You glanced at the man talking to you while holding up said manual and briefly glaring at a yellow post-it labelled Major Mass Spec.
You were called in as a temporary Lab Technician by the director of NCIS. And so far you had encountered the lab covered in post it notes with either a name or warning, mostly warnings. When you finally got over the shock you noticed a folder labelled MANUAL and it was a step by step guide on how to use her lab, but also included ways you’d creatively die if her machines didn’t work when she returned. Overall you were a little annoyed that you were treated like a child when you’d worked in forensics for decades.
“Sorry, I’m Y/N L/N. I’ll get right on the evidence once I apparently…” you look down at the manual “turn on the computer but do not expose to bright light, no getting him wet and no feeding him after midnight…” taking a breath you continue “now I’m confused as the lab is full of light, pretty sure if I spill anything on it, it won’t work anyway and last I knew computers don’t eat, unless these instructions were for a pet gremlin named Gizmo, I have no idea what she’s left these instructions for.” You look up at the man with salt and pepper hair and see slight amusement on his face.
Then without a word he left the lab. You didn’t even get a name, but you didn’t need it anyway. His reputation was enough and also the warning from Leon Vance gave you was an indicator.
