When a guy in NYC tries to impress me by saying he works in finance
just gonna leave this here so when James Norton becomes a huge star I can safely say I saw him first.
I dunno how long I’ve been absent from this space but I’ve been out there in the world trying to be present and shit, which is really difficult.
I’ve learned: to swim, to ride a bike, and that although the work i’ve been doing on myself may sometimes seem useless, these days I am mostly the same, honest version of myself in every situation, and that is a goddamn miracle.
Also, alanis is so vulnerable here, which is probably why I used to hate this video.
this is so funny & pure
I’m such a happy Chewbacca!!
my mom
shout out to JOY in 2016.

Enough
y'all up on lontalius or nah...?
It’s so irritating. When people say “particular” they lack the intelligence to understand “difference”.Or to appreciate it.Or have the guts to admit they hate it.
I also spent a lot of time with Xavier Dolan’s first 4 films over my accidental hiatus (I haven’t seen mommy because it’s still not available for rent and I don’t have 14 bucks to buy any movie that isn’t Lost in Translation).
I’m surprised that I enjoyed them as much as I did because given how heavily stylized they can sometimes be, I expected to feel lost or alienated by them. However, it seems the older I get the more I appreciate or crave ‘style over substance’. I still love dialogue-heavy scenes but I think because I spend so much time these days at a loss, at sea, or dealing with disappointment I just don’t have the patience for exposition anymore. Instead I welcome scenes in which gallons of water crush a character or someone screams unnaturally in response to a greeting.
I love how angry everyone in his films are allowed to be. It’s incredibly satisfying, as an adult in the real world trying to maintain some semblance of stability, to see someone just totally fucking LOSE IT, in a public place and then flee the scene.
This may be my only resolution for 2016.
Not dead
Still here. But since I've been gone I've broken my MacBook, visited a few new places, realized that I have room in my heart for both a niece AND a nephew, cried less in private, lost ten pounds, cried even more in public, rearranged my bedroom twice, lost my job, developed a taste for IPA's, acquired a new favourite book, acquired a Fitbit, lost said Fitbit, acquired my first pair of gold earrings, lost one of said gold earrings, watched field of dreams, gained ten pounds, learned to make banana bread, spent thanksgiving alone, decided there were certain things I didn't wanna do anymore and stopped doing them. It's been a solid, accidental hiatus.
Panhandle.
Ya’ll just keep seasoning up because our 30s are going to be lit.
You know skinny jeans are gonna go out of style eventually but we’re gonna keep wearing them. They’re gonna become mum jeans. Parent style. People are gonna be like “oh my god dad your jeans are so tight it’s so embarrassing please put something else on” and you’re gonna be like “oh yes because those flappy impractical things are so much better” and you will feel superior but really you will be Uncool. You will be Uncool and you won’t see it, just like your parents. This is your fate.
I hate this post with everything that I am because I know it’s true
