Don't worry, as part of NASA's Grand Challenges Initiative Further are actually on the case,
But FYI a newly discovered asteroid (named 2013 TV135) has a slight chance of smashing into Earth on August 26, 2032.
NASA's Don Yeomans notes that "this is a relatively new discovery. With more observations, I fully expect we will be able to significantly reduce, or rule out entirely, any impact probability for the foreseeable future
Find out how you can help here (seriously).
Fantastic article in Mashable on LAUNCH - even includes Jeff sitting casually on stage in main pic as he MC's the day @ NASA JPL

"Early investment in the lives of disadvantaged children will help reduce inequality, in both the short and the long run"
In the future world do you still need colleges?
We had a great meet at Microsoft last week at the Education Summit 2013 hosted by the Silicon Valley Leadership Group with some fascinating discussions centered around learning in the 21st century.
Some great conversations emerged as we posed the question of what learning spaces will look like in the future given the fact that education is no longer location based and is becoming more and more an experience that can happen anytime, anywhere.
The article linked here explains what a future that includes "credentialing" may look like and is a great primer for our work with the Kellogg Foundation and the Mozilla Foundation on our Digital Badging for Professionals within Early Childhood Education.
[...] as of last year, NASA had identified 1,800 technologies it did spin off, including breakthroughs that enabled or improved low-power heart pumps, Lasik vision correction surgery and video image stabilization......

Saving the world? yeah, we do that too...NASA sets Grand Challenge to the public: find earth-destroying asteroids
Today is a landmark day in the US!.
It's also Pride Week and we're very proud of our work with the Global Equity Fund (yes that is our logo).
A lot of our work culminated last week with a keynote delivered by John Kerry at the Gays and Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies (GLIFAA) Pride event at the State Department on June 19th. During his speech, the Secretary acknowledged and thanked the governments and organizations that have partnered with the Secretary’s Global Equality Fund - which means he thanked Further - you're welcome Secretary Kerry!
See the great blog post here on the State Departments website for additional information.
FURTHER is getting funky fresh! Come join our Office Party tomorrow night, celebrating the new office and brand. Swing by and check it out, have a beer, cocktail, BBQ and play some games and meet the team. See you there!
