Some of the most chilling propaganda from The Great War. The constant use in some of these posters, of "boys" and making it seem like a big lad's adventure is such a stark contrast to the icy cold accusatory tones in others.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
Thinking of you as always, Henry!
Suicide in the Trenches
I knew a simple soldier boy Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you’ll never know The hell where youth and laughter go.
Siegfried Sassoon
Happy Halloween lovelies!!!
