How To Get A Job Fast As Hell
 @owenabbottâÂ
Apply to a  job, wait (1) day, then call.  Give them your first and last name. Tell them you submitted an application and that youâre very motivated to find [Enter field name] work. Let the conversation lead you wherever it takes. Be very polite. Sayâ thank you for your time, Iâll be looking forward to hearing back from you.â Rinse, repeat. This is to force them to be looking out for your application.Â
When you get to the interview, shake their hand firmly,  tell them your first and last name. Â
Describe your experiences  as â two years transcription and data entryâ if you have a desk job interview and â [however many years]  costumer service, retail and stockâ for your retail jobs. Â
Donât use job â buzz wordsâ I stg they hear them all day. Say  things like, â Iâm detail oriented and am very good at taking instruction.â  â I would like to work for a company with integrity and I feel that [ company name] would be a good fitâ
When they ask you if you have âreliable transportationâ say  YES. donât tell them what kind of transportation, just say yes. (if you donât do this, you wont get the job , Iâm telling you right now).Â
Research the company. Know what they do, why they do it, how OLD the company is. WHERE it was founded, and what kind of position youâre intending to apply for.
When they ask you â give us a situation where you had to blah blah blahâ Make one the fuck up. Make yourself sound good as hell, and like you put your companyâs needs slightly above the customerâs needs, but make the customer happy.Â
If they ask you about being outgoing, Say you âlike to focus on your work so you can concentrate on doing things rightâ (which buys you out of having to act friendly all the time)
Questions for after the interview:
1. Â Does this position offer upward mobility?
2. Do you enjoy working for the company? (if youâre not interviewing for a temp agency who will send you anywhere)
Then, shake their hand,  Ask them to repeat their name (REMEMBER THIS) say thank you for your time, wish them a nice day and leave. write their name down outside if you have to, just remember the fuck out of it.Â
AFTER your interview, send a card directed to the name of the person who interviewed you (Iâll give you them) that says âThank you for the interview, I appreciate the opportunity. have a great dayâ This shows  that you have an understanding of professionalism, and will have them thinking of you kindly (or at least remembering you) when theyâre shuffling through the choices.Â
DO NOT tell them you just moved to the city over the phone. Â In person, tell them you just moved to the city. Make it sound like the only reason you need a job is because you moved. Not because youâre desperate.Â

Americans Respond To âWhatâs The Most Absurd Medical Bill You Have Ever Received?â (x)
Hereâs what the image says:
Part 1: Screen Cap of a tweet
This morning I was called to HR. I knew it was coming LOL.
When I read the submitted complaint I about lost it hahahahaha
HR gave me the clear, here it is. This psycho came in with a coupon for a deal we stopped months ago. She yelled so loud that people had gathered toâŚ
Part 2: Screen cap of the emailed complaint
Visited [Redacted]. I asked for a deal that i had a coupon for. The rude little girl told me that she would not honor my coupon. I spend a lot of money at Chuck E Cheeseâs and a guest should never be told no. I asked to speak to the manager immediately. A disheveled blonde man with a coffee mug came up to me and asked what the problem was. I had assumed he knew his role well enough to honor the coupon as any manager should. I told him and said âI know you will honor this.â He said âNo, I donât think I will.â When I told him I spend a lot of money here and it was my kids birthday he said âListen Karen this is a Chuck E Cheese, I cant throw a rock without hitting 3 people whose birthday it is.â This disgusted me. My name is Norma. He was totally ignorant, rude, and condescending. I demanded to speak to the highest management staff member of this store. He had the nerve to spin in a circle and ask me âHow can I help you?â I demanded the corporate phone number. He was obviously trying to entertain the young girl cashier who was giggling the entire time. Completely unprofessional and rude. Worst customer service I have ever seen in a restaurant in my entire life. He gave me a card with the district corporate number on it and I told him I would not be returning to this store and I would tell my friends not to come here either. He told me to have âa Chuck E dayâ wich was very obviously spiteful. I was furious and appalled. He is a smug jerk. After, I went to my car to cool off and called the number on the card. The corporate employee answered and said âHello again Karen how have you been?â IT WAS THE SAME JACK*** INSIDE THE STORE. MY NAME IS NORMA.
This man needs to be fired. I am writing a letter to corporate. I will never step foot in another Chuck E Cheese again for the rest of my life and will be telling my friends and family to do the same.
(I edited it slightly due to some grammar oddities so it was more readable)
millennials: you canât get a job by just walking in and handing in your resume anymore
people over 40:
How much longer until the utopic Solarpunk future where Capitalism is dead and we all live in ecologically sustainable high-tech forest cities? Asking for a friend.
Until we make those ecologically sustainable high-tech forest cities ourselves. Itâs going to take a lot of us to do it though, so best to spread the word (and gather native tree seeds).
And, like, get started now. Then our âweirdo housesâ will be the only thing functioning when everything falls apart!
The only reason why we donât live in a solarpunk world right now is because no one has bothered to make it yet.Â
Weâll have to make it ourselves, and weâll have to help each other make it. Thatâs why it is solarpunk.Â
Some resources to consider creating or joining or doing:
Repair cafes - create or join your local repair cafe! Repair stuff, learn how to repair stuff, teach others how to repair stuff.
Map of Makerspaces - make some things! learn how to make some things! teach others how to make some things!
Community Garden Map (note that this is US-only, and not a complete list) - join a local community garden
Support your local farmers / local economy (US only link)
Support or create a local Food Not Bombs chapter
Support or create a local Food Not Lawns chapter

Volunteer via 350.org to help the environment / the planet / the place we live and depend on
Excellent-and-still-growing wiki from redditâs awesome r/zerowaste community - great resource to learn how to live more lightly on the earth

Learn how to Patch a Hole, Mend a Seam, and Fix a Hem
Learn how to repair a hole in the sole of a shoe
Learn some basics on passive solar design - clever use of the sun can create extremely energy efficient homes and buildings. You can use these principles to save on energy bills, even if youâre renting.
Free USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning, 2015 revision - cut down on personal food waste! Learn how to safely preserve food. Very useful if you suddenly harvest / purchase for crazy cheap in season / dumpster dive a ton of perishable food.
Donate to One Acre Fund, which provides training and capital to farmers (making them more productive and pulling them out of poverty) in various east African countries
Donate to Bridges to Prosperity, which provides technical expertise, money, and volunteers, to help local people build and maintain their own footbridges in extremely isolated rural areasÂ
joining r/solarpunk, and sharing links/ideas/art/music with the community. Also, upvoting stuff for greater visibility. Thereâs over 900 members!
Adding a few!
Replant scraps from your produce
Graft fruit-bearing branches onto ornamental trees in your area
Turn plastic waste into pretty much any plastic thing you need, in your garage, with machines built out of cheap and accessible parts
Make your own paper out of recycled paper or cardboard
Build a composter or a wormery
Harvest rainwater
Mod your toilet to flush gray water (used sink/shower water, or even that rainwater youâre harvesting)
Build a solar collector on the cheap
Build a wind turbine on the cheap
Build a hydroelectric water wheel on the cheap
Get internet access without going through cable companies using cheap, low-tech equipment
Make your own beer, cheese, soap, wine⌠really anything you can make rather than buy is a success!
And HELP YOUR NEIGHBORS! Donât just build/grow/mod/repair your own stuff, help them do it too! Share it! Depend on each other! Work together and grow closer with your community!
saw a post saying âdont beg men to love youâ and thats absolutely true but i have an addition i dont want to add to the post and Derail. but dont beg ANYONE to love you. im serious. not just romantically. not parents, friends, family, and especially not significant others. if you find yourself having to beg for scraps of love its time to pack it up and move on.Â
I see stuff like this every once in a while and it reminds me the kids are still alright
this feels appropriate
Iâll keep rebloghing posts like these until we stop shaming poor consumers for not going vegan or whatever and start pressuring COMPANIES with MONEY to start operating more sustainably
ngl I really do worry about this generation of children because they were raised in a time where they had 0 privacy since literal birth and some of them are being sold for views by their parents and it just worries the shit out of me lmaoÂ
Like, I tend to avoid family vlogger youtubers or whatever but the ones I have seen the children always looked stressed and tired and the parents donât seem to care as they shove a camera in their face. Like, imagine being in your 20s and going into a job interview knowing if anyone googled your name they would find a youtube video from 2005 with a title like, âLISA POTTY TRAINING PART 1/300âłÂ
not voting isnât refusing to play the game. Youâre in this country, youâre subject to the game whether you like it or not. The only way not to play is to leave, and the vast majority of us donât have that option.
Not voting is playing the game but saying âpassâ every time your turn comes up and then wondering why you lost.
Making young people not vote is actually a tactic used in politics to keep the satus quo. The young vote is always the one for change, so dissuading them from voting at all is actually a political tactic used by the people in charge to keep themselves there. Voting is rebellion.
