MELLOW FANCAFÉ POST BY JUNE UPDATED: JULY 30, 2017 (05:45 PM)

Hello Marshmellows, it’s been a little while since I last wrote to you guys. We have been working hard on this comeback and have been trying our best to show our good sides. Unfortunately I had to yet again disappoint all of you by falling sick. Exams and comeback dates overlapped and thus I had to struggle a lot between studying and keeping up with schedules, it caused me to fall sick. I promised to show a good side of myself but sadly I have to also think of myself. I have been studying hard (you guys should too! ㅋㅋㅋ) as I want to pass for my exams! Me and 2K Records as well as my members decided it would be best for me to rest a little and not participate in all schedules. Originally we planned to uncheck all schedules for this comeback but I have been working hard so I didn’t want to lose out on everything. So we changed it up a bit and decided I would be participating in some performances here and there and the fanmeetings that aren’t overlapping with my exams! I hope you guys will understand my decisions and I hope we can still meet during this time. Thank you all for supporting and loving us and we’ll see you soon alright?! Much love, June.

2K RECORDS ANNOUNCES JUNE WILL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN ‘ONE, TWO, THREE’ PROMOTIONS

Following Mellow’s long awaited comeback, it seems that things still aren’t fully back to normal as now the label announced that Main Vocalist and Maknae ‘June’ will not be participating in the comeback schedules, despite her earlier appearance on the screen during the filming of ‘Hello Counselor.’ The label released a statement regarding her whereabouts as they announced she will be taking a rest instead.

‘Due to health issues, Mellow’s June will not be participating in the schedules for this comeback. She has been suffering from serious fatigue and mental exhaustion. We have discussed this with her privately and came to the conclusion that her health comes first and she will be taking some time off to rest. The remaining members of the group will continue as a four member group, we hope you can support them throughout this as they have all been working hard for this comeback! Thank you for your understanding.’

Fans were left worried as this is a sudden announcement, some netizen claiming she is being forced to not participate whilst others agree this is the best and have voiced seeing her look tired before. June herself has not yet released any statements.

Mellow (원숙한) – One, Two, Three (White) MV

Returning after a half year hiatus, Mellow has released a music video for the title track ‘One, Two, Three’ of their latest album ‘Colors’. Supporting an upbeat song with a 90′s vibes, the video is a slightly more sexy tinted one in comparison to their last comeback, proving that the five girls are able to tackle all sorts of different concepts. The girls show off their strong vocals and stage presence as they remind the public once again that they are not allowing themselves to be beaten down!

Making a huge return with their 3rd mini album ‘Colors’, Mellow introduces a new concept that includes all members and their individual colors. Assigned a color since their debut, each girl holds a color that represents their personality more and for this album they dove deeper into the meaning behind those colors. Attaching a feeling to each color, the members handpicked songs that fit the feeling and message of the color to create a more personal album bringing out more of each member in all the songs, accompanied with their title track ‘White’ also known as ‘One, Two, Three’ which holds a more mature and sexy vibe than many are used to when it comes to Mellow. This particular album is meant to be not only a special album that holds a lot of meaning and is very personal to the members itself but it’s also meant to be a statement and a reassurance that Mellow isn’t going to step down easily!

MELLOW HOLDS FIRST FAN MEETING FOLLOWING THEIR MEMBER CHANGES

It’s been a while since Mellow has made the headlines as a whole, though the members have been working hard individually, the members finally get together and hold an official fan meeting following their comeback rumours. Though 2K Entertainment has yet to deny on confirm whether Mellow is indeed coming back, the girls deciding to show their face, has been giving many Marshmellows hope for the future!

Unfortunately the group failed to show up all together, with Sophie reportedly flying to the USA following her dating scandal and member Gyuri still not showing any signs of being in Mellow or not, the remaining three members June, Juniper and Yuuka took the spotlight by performing some of their songs and interacting with fans. The meeting supposedly lasted for an hour, leading up to two, in which the girls performed al their title songs as well as performed some acoustic covers of fellow groups such as Utopia and Pandora. The girls also performed a dance cover of OK:GO’s last comeback ‘Yapapa’ which they previously were seen doing on their youtube channel.

A successful fan meeting came to an end with Mellow answering some of their fans’ questions and giving out smoothies for their fans to enjoy on their way back. The girls gave yet again hope by voicing they’ve been working hard to show a new side of themselves, leaving many to believe their comeback will be held this year even!

UTOPIA’s sub-unit SHANGRI LA, held an art exhibit in their debut showcase + 2K artists attended the said double event!

On May 25, 2K Entertaimnent’s Utopia sub unit: Shangri la held a showcase and an art exhibit all at the same time to promote their debut mini album “Fresco”.

As with the unit’s first release, the tracks on “Fresco” were produced and composed by Utopia’s Eden, who didn’t participated on being a vocal unit member. It’s been three years since Utopia debuted, yet they just started promoting in units this year.

The overall theme and concept of the said unit debut is art. Mixing art and music together to create the Unit’s image. With this, Shangri La didn’t just held a normal album showcase, but also opened an art exhibit, which displayed various artworks related to the album by various artists in Seoul. The art exhibit opened around 4:00 pm, while the showcase started around 7:00 pm as soon as the exhibit closed.

Blush’s Kimiko (@kimoriz) also performed as the opening act for the showcase. The Blush member and soloist gave and electrifying performance of three of her songs from her solo debut album: Paradise, Superwoman and Find me, in which she received a standing ovation from the audience.

All of this happened in Bluesquare Samsung Card Hall in Seoul where 2K artists attended to see this revolutionary event unfold, and to celebrate art and music as one.

MELLOW’S JUNE HOLDS SURPRISE SOLO FAN MEETING FOR HER ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Following the release of the MV for ‘Rain’ alongside her group’s leader Sophie, June had yet another surprise for her fans. With the 11th of May marked as her one year anniversary since she’s debuted as a soloist, June held a surprise fan meeting to celebrate the special day alongside her fans, allowing as much as 350 fans to show up and attend the events for free.

In the early morning, 2K Entertainment’s official website uploaded a statement regarding her surprise event, inviting the first 350 people to show up to attend the event for free, with an additional 30 people who were invited through Mellow’s fancafé. On the website they stated the location and the time of the fan meeting, explaining that only the first 350 were free to attend but following the meeting were able to meet for a picture and a signature to give those unable to attend something worth their trip. The fan meeting’s duration being a total of 2 hours excluding the additional meet and greet time which would depend on the amount of people to show up.

Throughout the fan meeting, June performed a few songs of which her latest solo track ‘Cherry’ and three other tracks from her ‘Stages of Love’ and ‘Breathe’ albums. Following up with an acoustic version of Hyde’s ‘No rush’ and an acoustic version of the recently released ‘Rain’ of which she announced she prepared the said songs in order to show off her newly improved guitar playing skills. As the showcase continued, she held a special segment called ‘Dr. June’ in which she asked for various fans to voice their recent worries or troubles in order to give advice to them or to encourage them with whatever they were struggling with. She ended the segment by performing her debut track ‘Pretty Boy’ as a way of bringing out the nostalgia for a perfect way to end the event. The after event (that being the meet and greet) lasted an additional 2 hours, as she met every single fan waiting outside and those that had attended the meeting, counting up to a total of 500+ people.

Fans expressed their gratitude and respect for the idol’s well thought out event, as well as her dedication to meet every single fan that turned up to attend the event. Many fans released footage of the event online and for a short period of time #1yearwithjune became the number 10 trending topic of South Korea on twitter making the showcase and the day as a whole a successful one for fans and June herself.

Sophie & June - Rain ( Single MV )

After teasing for a little while, the youngest and oldest members of Mellow finally released their Music Video for their single ‘Rain’. The two show off their ability to tackle various concepts as they display a more mature and sexy vibe in the latest release. With a funky and mature vibe given to the song, the lyrics speak about the aftermath of a breakup caused by the other party of the relationship. The song is not only a way for both members to show different sides of themselves, but meant to be a special surprise for specifically June’s fans to commemorate her 1 year anniversary.

‘RAIN’ SPECIAL MESSAGE – JUNE

Hello Marshmellows! Surprise surprise! It’s been a little while since I last stood on stage with my own members, aside from Hyde of course. I’m sure you all miss Mellow a lot and so do I, this may not be a release as a full group but we’ve been working hard to surprise you guys with something a little different than usual. Sophie and I both surpassed our birthdays a little while back, and we both hit pretty important numbers and therefor wanted to show you guys a different us, a more sexy us! The day of the release will actually be a special one, as it marks my one year anniversary since I debuted as a solo artist. That’s a pretty big deal right? For that day I have many more special things coming up, but first we will focus on this release! It’ll be a special one, we will work hard and show you that Mellow isn’t just capable of doing only one concept, but we can show you many different sides of us and I’m sure there will be even more different sides coming in the future! I can’t wait to stand on stage again, and to meet you guys but don’t worry.
