any tips on lifting from pacsun?
Iโm fairly new to lifting, what do you think would be the best stuff to start out with? Iโve only grabbed a couple of art markers and some cheap makeup so far and I love you page!
โ๐๐จ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ง๐๐ง๐๐ ๐พ๐ฆ๐๐๐
1. Safe concealment methods
๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: First, walk into a store with you phone in hand. proceed to reach under a shelf and โsleeveโ the item, holding it in your palm with your sleeve covering it and pick up the same item. Look at it, and put it back. The item is now concealed in your sleeve. put your phone in that hand. look at your phone, reach into your purse or pocket to drop your phone inside and then let the item also fall out into your purse or pocket. Itโs yours now!
๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: Take multiple items of clothing from the sales floor and drape them over one arm. There should be a bulky pile over your arm by the time youโre ready to go into the dressing room. the items youโre going to take while inside the dressing room should be underneath the lot of that pile so they arenโt visible to the employee that will be potentially counting them. look at what you have on top. When you are asked how many you have, mention the exact items and number of the clothes that are visible. Go inside, detag and conceal on body or in your bag. Itโs yours now!
๐ฑ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: Once youโre ready to start using blind spots to conceal, it can be terrifying to do so. Make sure you know where the cameras are in the store, but donโt look directly at them. If you can see a camera, the camera can see you. even though it may not even be pointing towards you, itโs never a good idea to take that risk. You can create your own blind spots by kneeling down to โlook at product, and then concealing in your bag or on your person. Some isles may not have cameras at all, but make sure that there are no employees or shoppers watching. If there are people in the same isle and they have their back turned or arenโt paying attention, itโs safe to conceal then, too. as you get better you will learn when these queues are.
2. Stores that are easy to start off with DISCLAIMER! each location is different!
๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐๐'๐: Many blind spots. Particularly in the toy isles. Innatentive, older employees for the most part.
๐น๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ต๐๐๐๐๐: Slightly more difficult than ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐โ๐. You will need to create your own blind spots here. There are more cameras but personelle and layout are extremely similar.
๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐'๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: Seems scarier than it is. Employees are mostly attentive but dressingrooms are usually not counted. this is where you will gain experience dealing with LP. Big buckets of lipglosses and other small items, perfect for using the sleeve method.
๐ฐ๐๐๐๐: Small stores with usually inattentive employees. they will sometimes count items in dressingrooms so go when itโs busy and they donโt have time to.
๐ท๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐: There are usually no cameras in this store and only 1-3 employees. wait until no one is looking or use the sleeve method. Clothes are usually counted here.
๐ณ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: staff usually doesnโt give a shit about anything and there are rarely cameras in every isle.
๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: Big stores with no cameras. Go wild. staff is usually already helping someone and not paying attention to you. Your biggest obstacle is other customers who might snitch.
๐ฟ๐๐๐๐: same as petsmart.
๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐: Only tags are stick on plastic bar rfids. Most isles do not have cameras, including makeup isles (in my store, anyway). A good place to lift necessities like shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste/toothbrush, laundry supplies, deodorant etc.
3. Stores to avoid as a new lifter
๐๐๐๐๐๐: You may want to try lifting here but iโve been caught at this store. there is always someone watching cameras and lp is very attentive. I reccomend using the sleeve method as your only form of concealment here on floor even though itโs extremely tempting. as for clothing, Itโs rarely counted when busy and usually never monitored heavily.
๐ฝ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ผ๐๐๐๐๐: Experienced lifters have trouble with this store. Donโt even try it until you are 100% confident in yourself and even then, be careful.
๐ฟ๐๐๐๐๐: similar to hot topic but employees are much more attentive and almost always count clothes. there is no merchandise other than clothing and sometimes a setup similar to american eagle with glasses /scrunchies/hats. usually everything is tagged.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: There is a giant mirror along the wall that allows employees to look into each isle from anywhere in the store. The sleeve method is the only safe method I would reccomend using here as a new lifter.
4. What to know
๐ณ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐: Dress casually, mimic the atmosphere of the store that youโre going to. A staple โrich but comfortableโ look is blue skinny jeans and a white top.
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ข๐๐๐: Dont act weird when an employee talks to you. Most of the time they arenโt customer servicing you because they suspect you of lifting, itโs just their job. once you start acting weird, then they will notice something is off.
"๐๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐ข๐๐": Dont look around for cameras or shift your eyes to look up for cameras infront of employees or very obviously. Itโs one of the top signs LP is taught to look for and the number one reason people get caught.
๐ต๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐: donโt ever lift from a store where the well-being of the owners and their building relies on their income.
So Iโve noticed basically all of the old lifting masterposts have broken links, so I wanted to make a newer, updated one :)
PLEASE if you go to view a link and it ends up being broken, donโt be afraid to message me and let me know. All posts creds go to post creators/source. Some sections are kind of dry, but Iโll be updating this. If I donโt update please yell at me in my inbox lmao.

Some Tips and Random Stores Masterpost
CV$ tips
So fun fact I work at cv$ and boy lemme tell ya. You do things right and you could take half the store. So here are some tips I can tell you from working there a year and a halfย
*** please note that of course this varies by location and states in regards to lp and laws about chasing and who can lay hands on you. And every store has a different amount of cameras and a different layout. It would be in your best interest to go to a store in a โ"niceโโ neighborhood
LP๐จ๐จ
- as far as lp goes, thereโs almost never anybody in the store from lp or corporate unless of course itโs predictably busy. My particular store is near a stadium so when they were going to the championships, we had lp and police stationed inside the store to stop ppl from walking out with beer.ย
- if there is lp, they will be plain clothes
-cameras are not monitored unless youโre being sus, but even then itโs more likely that the manager will follow you around
- we have a no chase policy but Iโve literally seen some manager ignore this and go after them in the parking lot. They also technically cannot touch you but Iโve seen this rule broken before. But Iโve also seen a guy get stopped for beeping at the door and my manager literally see two champagne bottles in his backpack, but bc he didnโt see him conceal them, he had to let him go lol.
-in my state, itโs actually legal for managers to physically stop theft from happening, but itโs against company policy. Again, this doesnโt stop some of them.
-if you wanna return something without a recipe, we scan ids. If you paid with debit, we give cash back. Ppl return expensive medicine and vitamins all the time with receipts from the garbage and merch from another store that they lifted, and we just have to give them the return. You can get a lot of money this way, just donโt do it to frequently.
SHIFTS/best times๐๐
- i work in a 24 hour store, so the shifts for a store like that would be something like 2 manager in the morning, along with 3 saโs, around 7am- 3:30/4pm. Then on week days, unless itโs expected to be busy for holidays or games, another manager comes in at 3:30/4-11/12 with 2 saโs, one leaving about 7:30-9pm. Then itโs just one sa and one manager until the night crew comes. On weekends ย Thereโs always two manager so and 2 saโsย before 9pm.ย
-the night crews are usually facing, putting up tags or shipment. This varies by store but I would not recommend going at these times bc they are bored and pay extra close attention to ppl. Itโs so so sus to go at these times for anything other than wine or beer.
- on shipment days, which where Iโm at is 2 times a week, is fridays and tuesdays. The truck could come anywhere between 11am to 7pm. On these days, there is obvi more staff on the floor, but the night crew handles the majority of the unloading. Still Be careful bc the truck could come early and the managers will put it up in that case. There are also more sas these days. Iโd say find out the days near you by asking something likeย โ"youโre out of this when will you get moreโ
- basically if you notice only one or two saโs, And donโt see a manager around, youโre probably good to go find a blind spot.ย
BLIND SPOTS/TAGS๐ป๐ป๐ค
- avoid pharmacy, cosmetics, liquor, allergy and electronics. Obvi this varies by store but the best places Iโve noticed to conceal is grocery, unless itโs by the door like the one in my store, cards, hair brushes, and seasonal. Just do not let anyone see you and youโll be good. Remember that cameras are probably not monitored, but act like they are.
-rdif tags are on some cosmetics, nails, all alcohol(along with those cylindrical tops you need a magnet to get off), expensive types of vitamins and medicines, and batteries. But sometimes the towers are old and shitty like in my current store so if you conceal it under a few lays in a bag or on your person you might not even set them off. The liquor tops will always go off tho.
- if you beep, just keep walking. I know everyone says this but for real. Donโt stop. If we donโt see you conceal it, thereโs nothing we can do.
-dress normally, be kind and be quick.
-ย DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT BRING A LARGE BAG OR BACKPACK INTO THE STORE UNLESS ITS FOLDED UP IN YOUR CART/BASKET. This is an automatic red flag for us to keep an eye on you. Youโre better off concealin on your body or in the restrooms. If the store has a minute clinic, then they also have a restroom. Theย โtake two and put on backโ method is probably the best way to go about things.
โจโจFINALLYโจโจ
- cameras are intimidating, but almost never monitored
- if you beep, keep walking
- As long as nobody sees you, and you donโt conceal on camera ( which I know sounds like genaric advice but avoiding saโs is not hard at all bc we have to stay up at the front anyway) you can literally get away with so much.
-we do have pictures in the back of people involved in organized retail crime, but thats it. They pretty much stay there forever.
All in all, just be safe, use common sense and youโll be sittinโ pretty. Of all the people weโve caught in our store lifting, the one mistake they all made was concealing in front of someone. Not even on camera. If someone sees you, itโs over, just dump and go. Say you forgot the your card or something, ppl do that all the time. Again I work a 24/7 store so I canโt speak for stores that close or more suburban stores.
Good luck babes๐๐๐ย
