Piers smiled at the person in front of him, “I found it in front of my door this morning with a note saying ‘from: secret admirer’. The suspense is killing me.” He hugged the teddy bear playfully. “Who do you think it could be? Or more important question, what should I name it?”

“You should name him teddy.” Grant smiled, touching the bear gently. “I know, I’m creative and great at names. No need to thank me.”

“Take a picture, why don’t you? It’ll last longer.” 

  Even if it was just an innocent stare, it burned in the back of Ari’s head every time his gut told him that there was someone peering his way. It was an old instinct that didn’t take to leaving; in bad crowds every eye was an enemy. He had been minding his business; loitering in a relatively quiet stop-n-shop in hopes that the courier would bring him the details of his next fight when his so-called ‘spidey sense’ had started tingling and lo and behold; his eyes met the ones of someone who failed to avert their insistent glare in time. Was the gaze malicious or curious? It was always hard to tell with people nowadays. God forbid if he became the next ‘alex from target’. “Can I help you, or are you just going to keep staring?”

“Can’t help it.” Grant shuckled, reaching back to put his hair up in a bun. “You’re just so handsome, I can’t deprive myself of this worlds beauty.”

Coffee was a necessary thing on mornings when Giselle had to be up early for lessons. On those mornings, she usually found herself questioning why she even offered a 5:30 AM slot. It was now about 9 AM and her lessons were done for the morning, so she made her way to go get her second coffee of the day while she worked on putting some programs together. Giselle absolutely loved living in New York because outside of the figure skating community, no one really knew who she was. Looking around after grabbing her coffee from the counter, the tiny woman looked around, unable to find an open table. “Do you mind if I sit here?” she asked as she approached someone.

“Go ahead.” Grant thought it too early to really do anything, but his friend had invited him and he couldn’t really turn him down. He tried not to scowl at the women - his tolerance for them was starting to wear rather thin on his patience though that was probably due to the annoyances in his classrooms. “I don’t care.”

       “Do you know what I think we should do?” Dmitri questioned the person beside him. After being at the ball for couple of hours he was well on the way of becoming drunk, so he had stepped outside to get a fresh air. “I think us single people should create a special day to celebrate us. The couples can have their lovey dovey Valentine’s day, meanwhile we’ll have our singles day. We’ll sleep with random strangers, we’ll never see again. We would be able to go alone to diners or bars and of course buy chocolate and flowers for ourselves.” He took a sip of his drink, the corners of his lips slightly turning upwards at the thought. “As you might have guessed, I’m really not into this holiday.”

“Hey - if you were good looking that could just be every day.” Grant had no problem teasing the other. “Every day you can fuck and never call them back, and buy yourself some chocolate. Treat yourself.”

“So- uh,” Sam was browsing through a few dress racks; with the Valentine’s Ball coming up next week and her slightly nerve-wracking plan to attend, she’d decided she would begin to look for a dress now. Or at least, starting now. She’d always been a bit indecisive when it came to her own attires, wanting to appear as prim as she possibly could. After rummaging past several options, she then pulled out two - one silver, luminiscent and overly pristine, then the other was black, more elegant albeit a bit revealing. She cringed, “which one?”

“The silver - unless that is just too cheesy.” Grant smiled. He was waiting for his classmate, holding a pink ti in his hand. “The black one would do your figure some good - you look like a prude.”

Jace knew they were supposed to be at school right now but fuck it, skipping classes had always been their biggest forte and they were already aware they wouldn’t fail anyway. They had great grades, blackmail material and good money to shut some people up from their courier bussiness. Instead they found themself sitting in a cafe, finding the place less crowded than usual. “So.” They started out of nowhere. Their eyes were glued to the television. “Who are you rooting for the Olympics?”

Grant was just smiling, eyes stuck to his laptop in front of him .”No one in particular, I don’t think.” He brushed his hand back with his stressed hand. Jace had no issue skipping, but Grant was still trying to do some kind of homework. “Yourself?”

TO SAY JACOB WAS EXHAUSTED would be the understatement of the year ; he had been dealing with rude patrons all day and he was so close to kissing the ground once his boss finally allowed him to take a break from his shift. Sure he had been working as a bartender for a really long time now but sometimes it was still difficult to keep his composure when the costumers decided emotionally harassing him and the other workers would be a brilliant idea. He sighed and walked outside the bar. He searched through his pockets but cursed when he realized he didn’t bring his pack of cigarettes. Jacob didn’t feel like going inside again so he looked around and approached the nearest person. “Hey there. Got a smoke?”

Grant was just taking a break, some fresh air and catch a breather. Felt like everyone wanted something from him and it made him want to tug on his long hair. He could’ve snapped at the stranger coming up to him and having the nerve to ask for something from him. The world just takes and takes. “Yeah. Need a lighter too?”

“Certainly not your laughter. That wouldn’t annoy someone at all,” she grumbled. “What are you having then?” Elsa asked as she knocked her knuckles against the bar top to stop from yelling at this kid again. 

“Rum and coke.” Grant smiled. He thought this was just humorous, and was enjoying pushing her button a bit more. She was just making it so fun especially with such an explosive reaction.

“I’m not,” Elsa simply stated. The woman had to bite back her seething remarks she wanted to hiss out but she was on the clock and could only get into so many arguments before getting reprimanded or fired. “I am trying to work so if you want to take yourself to the other side of the bar? Then that would be great.”

“Clearly.” Grant just continued to chuckle. “What’s got you in a twist, hm? Free place, I can sit wherever you want.” Grant never tended to get mean, but this was just so humorous to him.

“I fucking swear that you have two second to get out of my face before I throw this drink in yours?” Elsa glared, her words almost coming out at a growl.

Grant just chuckled. He was leaning against the bar sitting right beside someone trying to find someone to start a conversation. “Sorry - thought you were a really cute boy from behind.” He wasn’t interested in her, seeing her face and regretted sitting so close. He couldn’t even help but chuckle at her strong reaction.

“Yeah, me too,” he smiled, looking down a moment. CJ looked up, grabbing one of Grant’s hands in his. “Oh hush, I want to come over. Dinner and a quite night in with you sounds amazing right now. I honestly hate being alone sometimes.”

Grant let CJ take his hand, intertwining their fingers together happily. There was a bit of confusion of self, where him and CJ stood. He hadn’t thought out too much what he wanted to do with him, though he couldn’t deny there to be some feelings growing a bit. At least, CJ definitely peaked his interest. “Sounds good.” Grant fixed the bag on his back. “I was just walking cause it’s not too far - I hope that’s alright.”

“She’s, um.. My psychologist. So she’s just making sure I take care of myself,” he admitted, hoping that wouldn’t weird Grant out. “Did you have a good time?” CJ asked. “No plans for me. I was just going to make dinner. But I think I’d like coming over to yours a bit better.”

“I’m glad you have someone to help take care of you.” Grant smiled at him. It kinda sparked some idea in his the back head, how he could take advantage of CJ. “You don’t have to, if you’re not feeling it. But I can make us dinner, if you decide so. I’d be sad if you decided not too.”

What excites you and terrifies you?

Is it cheesy to say the future? I have so much in store for me, and a lot of change that will come my way hopefully.

Got a few people on my mind but I’m not rushing into any relationships. Year of me and stuff, you know?
