it actually really annoys me when people use the term emo for anyone who is slightly alternative. like, emo has SO MUCH history and most importantly IT DOESN'T HAVE TO DO WITH LOOKS.

like no DON'T call yourself emo when you can't even tell what music is emo and what is not

emo isn't just a word to use for someone who has black hair and covers their eyes with a fringe or wears a little eyeliner.

emo is a whole subculture (a MUSIC BASED one) and I'm tired of it being so watered down by everyone
