Structure within a structure: untitled
with this structure my intent was to showcase the feminine mind while mimicking that of a windchime or chandelier. the fun thing about this project is that when you push around the strings and metal sheets it makes a fantastic noise and it really shows the daintyness of fingernails and beauty standards as a whole. it is supposed to talk about the development and expectations of a woman. i used press on nails, string, metal sheets and rods welded together and hot glue!

Fragile Femininity
Sculpture made out of plaster, baby oil, coffee, and a broom.
This piece was intended to display the duality yet contrast between femininity and masculinity as a whole. I wanted to show gendered activities as well as the strength of a message that objects can show, even without us noticing. I molded tools and fingers using clay and filled them with plaster, then painted them black and white to further emphasize the differences between man and woman. The purpose of baby oil and coffee is to show the emphasis of the cleaning element, a woman will have to clean these things in stages of her life, whether it be motherhood or childhood it is something we interact with. The fact that I used a broom is intentional, a broom will never be able to clean up the oil, and it will never be able to keep up with a man.
