āā¦The more Iāve been reading, lately, the more Iāve been realizing how difficult it is to be a writer in this day and age. Yes, thereās journalism and screenwriting and novels and the whole shebang, but Iād say that sometimes weāre so bombarded by excess that itās hard to remember what itās like to justĀ write.Ā
ā¦So, yes, as you were wonderingāI do think that the internet has affected our ability to experience emotion in its entirety. I hate to be cynical, but itās simply the reality of it.āĀ
Hasnāt it always been difficult to be a writer? In different ways, of course. Similarly itās easier to be a musician because itās easier to have access to instruments and all that jazz, yet itās harder to be one because thereās already a broad range of artists and songs. Every once in a while you read or hear, for that matter, that just hits you and you feel the emotions behind it. However, I donāt think itās necessarily the internetās fault, more like people care more about being famous than art these days. Then again the internet is kind of responsible for that. Everything is interwoven, itās hard to make one thing responsible.
