BIOGRAPHY
Gabriel was adopted by Jennifer and Daryl Brown at a very young age. They didn't exactly keep things a mystery for him, they let him know when they figured he was able to understand properly but never went into detail about what happened to them.
Gabe grew up in Nashville, not too far from his birth place Hidehill, however they never visited as he was growing up so he always had this interest in his home town and learning about it. It wasn't until his adult years that he seriously considered moving here.
Of course he'd heard the stories of the tragedies that took place in Hidehill, he had seen the news reports but it never put him off wanting to move to where his birth parents were from and reconnecting with his birth parents hometown or where he was born. Every place has its history whether it be good or bad.
At 26 years old he'd saved up enough to buy a cheap trailer in Hidehill and had enough money to live comfortably until he managed to find himself a job.
In school he was definitely a class clown and even into his adulthood he continues with the exact same personality. He enjoys making people laugh, he is definitely an asshole too and just lives life on his terms. He is a party animal, has been told he is a fuck boy one too many times but hey ho.
Her arms crossed over her chest as a defense against him and to cover herself up even more than she already was due to the insecurity of what he was bringing up once again. She would never admit to ever feeling negative about herself in some aspects, but June was only human. Mostly. "I will not be body shamed by anyone." She said sternly, as if she was scolding a child. "You need to learn to be respectful towards women, especially towards women that you claim to love." Her eyes dropping for a slight moment only to snap quickly back to him. "Is that all you have to say, Gabriel?"
He held back the small groan that was forming at the back of his throat once he realised she was going to be needing more than his terrible apology he just gave. "Look, June. I should have known better, okay?" He held out the flowers towards her in hopes that she would accept them. "I wasn't body shaming you, I see how it comes across that way though. June, I love your body is that not obvious? I especially love your boobs, they don't need to be bigger."
"thanks." the woman was unsure if the thanks on her end was genuine. "didn't wake up today thinking i'd get a pity pizza but first time for everything, right?" she'd said her thoughts out loud and instantly regretted it. sighing, emmeline looked up to the other. "sorry, that was uncalled for." now that was genuine. "it's just... it's..." she only ended up shrugging - she was tired, snappy and fearful of the entire situation.
"Pizza is good no matter the circumstance." He smiled at Emmeline. "But free pizza? Suddenly it just tastes way better don't you think?" He shook his head and dismissed her apology quickly. "Don't worry about it, you didn't hurt my feelings anyway. You and your family have a lot going on right now anyway. If you weren't snapping at a few people I think we would be a little confused."
❛❛ when has it ever not worked ? ❜❜ her specialty was to make his mistakes sound like they were forgivable. some would call it gaslighting, but that's a detail. pacing around thinking of the next line in his apology, she could only groan at his suggestion. ❛❛ ew. not to say sorry. this is for corny valentine's day cards. roses are red, violets are blue, when i see the moon, i always think of you june. ❜❜ a wave of her hand dismissed the whole idea as fast as it came up, but then she froze for a second at his next words. no wonder he needed her, jesus christ. ❛❛ it's like you don't want to get back in her bed. no, keep the first part, and say that she was right about whatever it is she was upset about. and don't forget to say you should've known better, and you'll think before you speak now. ❜❜ that'll never happen, but june doesn't need to know that. ❛❛ and only when you're making out with her, you say how much you missed her lips and her body. ❜❜
"Okay but I thought it was so obvious that I was joking about her boobs." He rolled his eyes and shook his head, leaning back against the sofa and making himself comfortable. "Like, the conversation was about *boobs and then I simply stated boobs could always be bigger. I may have said hers... but you know, I wasn't saying her boobs were small. I just said that boobs can always be bigger." His fingers tapped at his phone screen as he typed out more following her suggestions. "I should have known better. Yup. She will like that one."
The sound of banging abruptly wakes Freddie up from his nap, disorientated and grumbling, he pulled himself up and stumbled to the door in his boxers. “ I’m coming, I’m coming. ” he says, attempting to wipe the sleep from his eyes as he swings open the trailer door. “ yo. ”
Without questioning or an invite Gabe made his way into Freddie's trailer bursting out into the thoughts in his head. "Listen, I don't know if it's like a Mossy thing or just a my trailer thing but why the fuck has my toilet blocked for the fourth time this week? The drains are just not draining either like the fuck? What am I paying for in this place?"
Any other night, he’d be fine with people playing devil’s advocate ⸻ but his patience was thinning. Was it the phone call with his father? Perhaps the desire to protect the dancers and other staff came from good intentions, but for the moment he enjoyed holding a rather dark reputation. It’s why Frankie turns to the person attempting to get inside for the fifth time that night and still refused to budge from the doorway. Not quite seeing their face clearly, he continues. “ It ain’t looking like it’s your lucky night. “ He lies, “ We’re at capacity. “
Gabe rolled his eyes at the sound of his voice. "Look, buddy. Can't a guy just go inside and enjoy some pretty girls shaking ass? My girlfriend broke up with me and my friend is dead." He knew that rules were rules for a reason but today he just really did not want to listen to any kind of reason. "I'm sure there's like a bunch of old creepy dudes in there that you can kick out, the girls would much prefer me in there I'm sure of it."
Every time this fight happened between her and Gabe, June found herself in the same place every single time. Scrubbing her home clean enough that you could eat off the floors. She never would admit that she was an anxious cleaner, but the loud groan she let out when she got interrupted by the knock on her front door made it obvious that she wasn't a happy cleaner. "What, Gabriel?" Her eyes narrowing just at the sight of him after the front door had swung open.
Gabe stared at her for a moment as she opened the door. "Um.." he trailed off, eyes looking down at the phone in hand as he read a few of the lines quickly. "June, I am really sorry that I told you that your boobs could always be bigger." He looked up at her face again to gage a reaction, eyes drifting down slightly towards her chest before back at her face. "I was kidding.. and like.." he looked at his scripted apology once more, "I should have totally understood that was a sensitive topic."
"You think it will work?" Gabe frowned slightly reading it over, he wasn't fully convinced. "I thought rhyming June with Moon was funny and she might like it. You don't think so?" It was about that time that he should apologise to June for whatever fucked up shit he had probably done, he wasn't exactly the greatest with words so Billie always got roped in to be the help. "June, I miss you and I am so sorry. I miss making out with you and touching your boobs." He suggested adding to the scrippt.
With flowers in one hand and his phone in the other Gabriel stood at the door of June's home for a moment. "I am really really sorry." He muttered to himself as he practiced his lines over quietly, eyes fixated on the text from Billie who had helped him script his apology. "I like love you." He recited once more before letting out a deep sigh, eyes rolling slightly before slipping his phone in his pocket and knocking at her door.
With a cigarette to his lip he knocked hard against the door to Freddie's trailer. "Freddie" he called out. "Open up I know you're home, you leave literally every light on all the time so it's pretty obvious."
"Uh, it's on the house." Gabe forced a thin lipped smile onto his face as he slid the pizza box towards Emmeline. "Really sorry about your niece. Shit must be hard for you right now, especially with it being front page of the newspaper and everything."
