TRUTH OR DARE | Gabriel & Jasmine
jasminexthompsonâ:
As Jasmine finished her drink, wrinkling her nose slightly every time she took a sip, she could feel Tazâs gaze on her which he hadnât taken off her ever since he handed her that drink. âReady to talk about it now, princess? Or are we going to keep ignoring your little crush on that gorgeous football player who looks like one of those Greek statues?â Taz asked with a tilt of his head and Jasmine would have been caught off guard by his blatant disregard for her wishes if she hadnât been used to it by now. And the worst thing about it was that usually him pushing her past her comfort zone left her feeling better about herself and the situation that kept bothering her not too long ago. So she couldnât even really complain âŠÂ âThere is nothing to talk about âŠâ she sighed and averted her gaze, a slight frown gracing her features before she added, âHe doesnât like me like that.â No, he probably wasnât even thinking of her anymore now that he was alone with Courtney. âOh, dear, the good news is that he is a clueless and awkward as you. If you ask me you two would be a match made in heaven.â he returned, clearly amused by her apparent oblivion as well as Gabrielâs. If it just wasnât so tragic to watch at times. It was clear to most people around them that they had a crush on each other, just they didnât seem to realize that the feelings were mutual. And apparently no one planned on telling them either.
In the other room Courtney was raising an eyebrow at his quick response. Too quick, if someone asked her. She noticed the way he got nervous and kept her eyes on him in a way to make him understand that she wouldnât give in so easily. âSo, maybe I should ask Jasmine about the girl you like then, huh?â Courtney wondered, smiling mischievously before taking a look at her watch. âOr you just spill the tea, considering we still got more than five minutes left in here. Unless you wanna make out after all?â the blonde added with a grin, quite enjoying the sight of him as he turned into a ball of nerves, trying to dodge any and all questions sheâd possibly throw his way. The decision was his as to how this would go. Gossip or making out â to Courtney both options were equally exciting.
Pretty much any one of his teammates would have been thrilled to be in Gabrielâs situation. Seven minutes in heaven with a girl like Courtney? Who seemed to be more than willing to get hot and heavy? Unfortunately for Gabriel, he would rather be anywhere else. The only reason heâd come to this party was so that heâd be able to spend some time with Jasmine that wasnât just the two of them studying, and so far it wasnât going very well. Not only was he not spending time with Jasmine, he was stuck with a girl that refused to let the subject of who he liked go, and there was no way he could tell Courtney. What if she told Jasmine? It would be a disaster, or at least Gabriel had convinced himself of that fact. In his mind, he couldnât possibly understand how someone like Jasmine would ever fall for someone like him.Â
âNo.â Once again, too quick. Gabriel couldnât stop himself from grimacing again, dragging a hand over his face. Courtney could not ask Jasmine about the girl he liked, because the only girl he spent time with was her. Sheâd know right away. God, why couldnât time move faster? He was getting flustered, and her offering to make out wasnât helping at all. âI just donât think itâs worth mentioning to Jasmine or talking about right now, yâknow?â Gabriel was still fidgeting, and he knew he had to change the topic and distract Courtney just long enough to get out of there. âIn fact, why donât I help you out? Iâm sure thereâs a guy at this school thatâs caught your eye, maybe even on the football team?â Gabriel wasnât very good at giving advice, but he was desperate and willing to try anything at that point. Well, almost anything. As much as he would like to not talk about Jasmine, he wasnât willing to make out with Courtney to achieve it. That would just be wrong.Â
