Red is for passion, blood, and everything forbidden.
did the cover of chapter 149 with the Wplace color scheme, had to manually translate all the pixel of the cover into asesprite (original image had morphed and squished some so it was a bit of guess work and re-draw aswell)
didn’t see you there…
huh
Fat Zanka
The only way someone can use the Watchman series is if they're 'empty' in some aspect of their existence. Rudo, Zodyl and Amo each have trauma that won't go away, that their reliance on their jinki helped them cope through. Zodyl connects with Rudo here because he could tell by his eyes that they were 'similar' and were scorned by the world in a similar regard. Zodyl, who is usually emotionless, seems to empathise with Rudo, possibly seeing his younger self in him. Each uses their jinki to cope with the world around them in different ways based on their trauma. Rudo, with his gloves hiding his scars and the way his body has been judged since birth. Amo and her boots and the way she can feel control of those around her through scent, something she never had before. And Zodyl covering his entire self behind his coat.
I love Gachiakuta so much, I love the characters, the styles, the story, the lore, the music, the art, even the community!!

I WANT TO LEARN WITH RUDO, GO ON THIS CRAZY ADVENTURE WITH HIM AND BE SHOCKED WITH HIM NOT FEELING LIKE I ALREADY KNOW WHATS GOING ON WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN TO SEE IT YET!!!
Post what you want, I'm not telling you to stop, I want you to express your love for this anime, please do!! I love the fanart, the fanfictions, the memes, I love it all. But for the love of God, please either start your post off with a TW: SPOILERS ALERT!!! And then put a read more line or just add it in the tags so it doesn't pop up on my page. I'm begging!!
Sorry for all the tags, I just want people to see this so they can be aware. We're all sharing a community, so we gotta keep it organized and not go crazy

Gachiakuta Theory maybe idk I'm not very smart
Zanka jinki hasn't unlocked it's full potential because Zanka isn't honest with himself or others.
A Jinki/ vital instrument is created when a person and their possession become linked to one another through soul and personal connections, called Anima.
Enjin, further explains that the more Anima a person has towards the Jinki, the more powerful it could be.
And he explains this by saying if a person has that item for a very long time then it's more likely to be stronger due to their relationship.
The best example of this being Rudo, he activated his almost immediately after being thrown out if the sphere, and it's obviously because of what his Jinki is, but also because he's had them for such along time that he's grew a personal connection to that time.
We also learn in the anime, that Amo had not had her boots for as long as anyone else in the series Jinkis', so her powers only really worked in enclosed space and it took a long time to activate which is why she did alot of yapping before her fight
As we know from Zanka's backstory, he has had his staff for very long time. Practically his entire life.
And yet when he uses it, it only transforms into a slightly more durable version of its original form.
It has no other extra qualities like any other Jinki we have seen so far. It is just a physically stronger version of his original staff, with cooler details.
And lowkey he is suffer for it.
He has to use specialised and powerful physical techniques that he's been perfecting over time to even make his jinki "useful", because without active input from him it cannot do anything.
He is effectively been fighting off trash beats and Jabber with a reinforced metal pipe with two horns on the end.
So why is his Jinki highkey sucky?
Well I think it is because he isn't honest with himself, and/or other and therefore cannot true connect with his Jinki in the ways that he should.
His whole thing is being okay with mediocracy, but we all can see he is not okay with mediocracy.
Anytime something bad happens, he immediately lies to that person and himself and states that it's fine and he's okay.
He did this in his backstory, in the anime and in the manga.
He consistently lies to himself and others even when other people know that he's lying.
And I think because he's not being completely honest with himself, he can't activate the true potential of his jinki.
We know that characters like Enjin and Riyo, haven't really vocalized where they've come from or been necessarily "honest".
But regardless of this fact they are honest to themselves. They don't necessarily hide their frustrations or anger or any emotions.
In the manga (and soon anime), Riyo becomes so frustrated with the Raiders that she decides to just shoot them instead of deal with the situation in a way that other would come to expect (even the viewers). And that is her being honest to herself.
She cannot be bothered with them. Doesn't really know how to deal with it. So she just shoots them.
And while doing so she recounts to herself that she specifically was told not to do that but he's going to do it anyway and feels bit bad about it.
We see that even if she's not that honest with others, she's at least honest to herself.
Furthermore, Rudo's jinki can also be used as a reinforcement for this point as, he is very honest about what he wants and tells everyone. He doesn't attempt to hide his feelings for a very long, and has already accepted these parts of himself..
In addition to this, Amo also becomes more honest with herself, and because of this she's able to use her jinki on a wider scale. She has developed a sense of what she wants for herself in the present and a little into the future. And because of this she is more connected to her jinki and it comes more powerful.
Even though these Jinki's are a part of the watchman series, and therefore are already powerful, there potential could not be unlocked until their Giver/users had best connected with them.
However when it comes to Zanka, he is not even close to being this honest with himself.
He gaslights himself into believing that he's okay with being mediocre, and he tells it to himself like he needs to remind himself.
However, ever time he loses he becomes more and more frustrated and begins to realize that he is not mediocre, he is just bad. And the only thing he's got going for him is his a battle IQ and his techniques.
But since he has not been very honest with himself, he's been able to become a giver but has been unable to unlock his Jinki's fullest potential.
He has put the key in the door, he just hasn't turned the key or open the door
And I theorise that once he becomes more honest with himself and what he wants for the future , that he will basically get an upgrade.
And here's the stretch bit. I think Jabber has already figured this out and this is why he thinks Zanka is 'so strong' and is a good fight.
Jabber he realised and recognised, the even without unlocking the full potential of his Jinki, he's still effective using it to an impressive degree.
In their first ever fight, he best Jabber out of battle IQ, luck and situation awareness.
In their other fights, he doesn't win but he holds up well for a guy with a sexy staff and a dream.
Jabber has already recognised his potential, and keeps wanting to fight him to see if he's unlocked his true strength.
This is what Jabber means when he says that he'll get stronger. Because, he's gonna unlock it eventually. Probably.
But this is just my stupid theory lol
not sure if ya noticed but when fighting the scorpions on the desert, his staff grows the nails around the curved end to kill one of those, happens again in the follo backstory with the wendigo trashbeast, his staff grows its spikes to decapitate it.
in the anime u can see more clearly how they shoot blue fire before stretching! episode 10, minute 15
but yeh i do find that theory very agreeable, i think urana def is planning to have him eventually get an upgrade (like,,, it just has to happen right??? plssssss urana senseiiiii plssss sobsob,,, )
obvs cant rrrreally use that when fighting jabber,, or other people-with the whole cleaners don't kill rule-so its probably gonna be somethin else~ again, that concept of him not being honest to himself hence makin him unknowingly limit his vital instrument does feel like it fits nicely,, so it would be a nice thing to keep in mind
