Remy raised a hand to her face, caressing her cheek gently and grinning like a fool. All the worry that his feelings were only his own feelings dissipated when she told him she needed more. He could have dwelt on his own niggling uncertainty, but Leo’s hands were on his chest and curling in his shirt, tugging him forward and goading him into another kiss. He followed the pulling of her hands and let his own wander to the small of her back to draw her close. He hummed as she kissed him again, very gently squeezing her hip with one hand. Despite his fantasies of scooping Leo up in both arms and carrying her off to the bedroom, he couldn’t act on impulse just yet. He licked his lips, rubbing his hands up and down Leo’s back as he pressed their foreheads together with a soft chuckle. “More..,” he sighed and kissed her again very light and breif. He breathed the word again, keeping his eyes shut as he brushes his lips against Leo’s over and over. “Mmm…I t'ink you right, chére cuz d'at still ain’t enough.”

His hand was warm against her skin, and that tenderness awoke something hungry within Leo’s soul. She knew that she’d need that softness for the rest of her life. His hands were solid on her back, the extra sensation anchoring her to the moment even though she felt like she could easily float away. “Mm-hmm,” she murmured against his lips, a quiet agreement. “S’not,” she added, pulling away just enough to add her two cents before pressing her lips to his once more. Leo arched her back a little, pressing into Remy a little, delighting in how solid he was against her. “You’re in a bit of a pickle,” she informed him with a crooked grin. "’m gonna need a lot more of this.” Slender hands moved to tug at the waist of his pants, gently pulling him towards her as she took a step in the direction of the couch. Leo wanted to go some place where they could settle in for a while and lose themselves in each other. Kissing Remy was intoxicating, and now that they had indulged, Leo couldn’t imagine a going a day with kissing him.

Remy closed his eyes again, pressing his lips to the warmth of Leo’s mouth and allowing himself a little less restraint. It should have always been this effortless between them. The comfort he drew from Leo was so ingrained into his everyday life that he had feared his own emotions growing too strong and destroying any chance of maintaining their relationship. If he allowed himself to think about it too long, Remy could imagine that this was too easy for them. This transition into something more should, by all accounts, be something heavier and difficult because of the nature of their lives and choices. Neither of them was on the brink of death. Neither of them was more than questionably drunk either. There was no high emotion clouding judgement or substance to blame the mood on. Everything was delightfully pleasant and light, nothing looming over their heads to make Remy worry. He held Leo closer, wrapping his arm around her waist with the soft groan he could manage. “An’ now, chére? Could ya still do it sum mo’ or is ya sick’uh me?’ he teased, the corner of his mouth drawing up as he spoke.

It felt so good to be held close, to feel Remy’s warmth pressed against her body. Leo felt safe within his arms, and would be very happy for him to keep his arms around her for the rest of the day. The thief could easily get used to this sort of affection, the closeness of his embrace, and the sweetness of his kiss. She chuckled at his question, one of her hands sliding down his chest as she grinned up at him. “Not a chance. I think I need more, if anything” Leo warned. There was a mischievous light in her eyes, as if to say, If i kiss you again, it won’t be enough. I’ll want to kiss you again and again and again. Her fingers curled into his shirt as she pressed a kiss to the corner of his mouth before kissing him properly once more. The hand in his shirt gently tugged him towards her, even though they couldn’t really get any closer. It felt so right, so normal to be with him like this and Leo knew she’d never get enough of it.

Aaron took in the pumpkin, the chocolate. He was already smiling, but then he looked at her. And couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face.

“you trying to fatten Mark up with the chocolate?” He asked. “"Because he’ll eat all of that if you let him.” He grabbed some of the candy. With his other hand, he tapped the pumpkin. “just the one?”

Leo flashed a shy smile, most of her unease evaporating at Aaron’s smile. “He’ll have to fight me for it,” she reminded him, her own lips lifting to mirror his grin. “Holidays are always odd,” Leo explained quietly with a shrug. “I didn’t know if more than one would be wanted, especially since I got all the other decorations.” 

“Besides,” she went on. “There are only so many pumpkin seeds and so much pumpkin we can eat. Unless you want to live off of pies til thanksgiving?” There was a light in her dark brown eyes, that shining twinkle that appeared whenever she teased Mark or Aaron. “I wouldn’t complain about pie for dinner, but there’s a reason I don’t do most the cooking.”

It was..odd. This was home, but not. But if not here, did home exist? If not with these two men, could it be with anyone? Leo stood in the kitchen, unsure as she cradled the pumpkin in her arms. Was it silly to decorate? Would they want the small hoard of halloween decor that covered the kitchen table? It was impossible to escape the uncertainty of her emotions. Gently, Leo eased the over-sized squash to the table.

“Maybe I should have brought home a puppy,” she mused to herself. A puppy with big ears and big paws would give her someone to take care of, someone she could focus all her attention on. Footsteps made her sigh, and rather than turn and face who was coming to her, she reached for a bag of candy. “I got chocolate,” she announced loudly, dumping the contents of the bag on the table as well.

Leo took in the way the other woman held herself. From the raised brow to the hands on the hips..most concerning was the camera. Leo shrugged, guessing that casual would be the best route to take. “You could,” the thief reasoned. Leo would be equally reticent to answer, though. Opting for playing dumb, she tried a different approach. “So are you from one of those fancy magazines or something?” With luck, they could gloss over the fact that neither of them should really be there.

They were so close. It wouldn’t take much to press forward that last little bit. Just an ounce of courage she realized as her dark brown eyes dipped from his eyes to his lips and back again. Fortunately, where Leo’s courage would falter, Remy was there as steady as ever. Her fingers curled around Remy’s hand. His gesture was sweetly reassuring as she looked up into his eyes. His other hand was warm against her waist, anchoring her to the moment while his lips threatened to send her floating away. Remy pushed past their imaginary line, and for a moment she regretted how long she’d tried to play like it was there. In truth, nothing felt more right. As he squeezed her lightly, Leo reached to slip an arm around his neck as she giggled softly, returning his grin with one of her own as she pressed forward, not wanting any distance between them. “I could do that again,” she tease, beaming up at him. To prove her point, Leo rose up on her toes to press a sweet kiss to Remy’s lips.

There was a split second of doubt, hesitation that tensed in his fingertips and nearly made him roll up onto the balls of his feet, like a scared cat raising its hackles. Too much adrenaline hinged on a single, small act. Remy's lips were less than an inch from Leo's and all he need do was move his head that last little bit, cross the imaginary line between them. He holds one of her hands gently, taking the extra time to lace their fingers before he swallowed the fear and pressed the softest kiss he could manage to Leo's mouth. He released the breath he didn't know he was holding in and drew her closer with his other hand curled around her waist. All the thoughts that had been careening into one another in his head had come to a standstill and kissing her became the simplest thing. It felt good and right. He could finally relax all that extra effort to control himself and give in to the sweetness of having no more space between them. Remy reveled in the feeling with a soft groan, squeezing just under her ribs before pulling back. "Wooo, lawd, chère," he whispers, grinning.

As we progress through August, leading into September, the more I wish for sweater weather and sweet treats with warm drinks 🥰🥧🥮☕ I'd give anything to shiver and wrap up nice and tight with a good book. Maybe something cinnamon or pumpkin related... Yeah, that sounds divine

The sigh she gave told him volumes about his own worry. He was being overly cautious and looking way too far into the downside of everything between them. What could be wasn’t yet. And the promising parts might never be if he didn’t let go a little and enjoy the moments they had together. “Course it do. Très confortable,” he answered, letting a smile rest on his lips. “An’ doncha go fussin’ ‘bout d'at, Remy ain’t got no problem wit’ keepin’ de light on.” Of course, that statement had more than one context and he hoped to all the gods and spirits that she would not take it as anything but reassurance.

Remy’s eyes roamed down over Leo’s face, brows slightly drawn in as he tried to decode her expression in the titian light. When she settled against him, her weight pressing down on his body, he let his eyes fall shit and his arms encircle her shoulders protectively. He squeezed her gently and began playing with her hair again. He had questions forming in the back of his throat that his lips wouldn’t let escape while he struggled to swallow down the uncertainty. “D'is better, chère?” he asked in a whisper, his heart beating too quickly beneath her ear.

His comment about the light brought a fond smile to her lips. Leo had little doubt that of all people, Remy would probably be the only one to leave a light on for her to come home to. Once she was settled on top of him, the thief relaxed when his arms settled on her. “You’re probably the only person who’d leave a light on for me,” she murmured quietly, hoping he’d understand how much that small act meant to her. Leo was awful with words, and while she’d blame it on al ack of education, there was no denying it was more from her being a coward than anything. A soft him emanated from Leo’s lips, a quiet, pleased sound as the weight of his arms settle around her.

“Much better,” Leo assured him, listing to his heartbeat. “We should do this more often,” she suggested, a soft smile tugging at her lips. The woman nuzzled her cheek against his chest in a show of affection. Leo melted into him, her body easily relaxing while in contact with Remy’s. Already, her heart ached at the thought of separating from him once morning came. she bit her lip for a moment, hesitating before pressing forward. “Maybe we could hang out here tomorrow? A lazy day and we’ll stay nice and cozy here,” the thief reasoned.

“Trust me Leo if there’s anything this place has it’s rooms and food. And the kitchen is kinda Alfred’s space, I can get him to let me help but anything more than that-“ he shook his head and laughed, stepping away but motioning for her to follow. Maybe he need this- the company to keep himself from diving to headlong into more danger. 

“You want a room with a view or what?”

There was something incredibly amusing to know that Bruce Wang, the pinnacle of wealth and power in Gotham, was barred from his kitchen. In fairness, she wouldn’t want to tangle with Alfred either. A grin made her lips twitch anyway and she nodded. “A room with a view would be great, not that you aren’t wonderful to look at,” the thief teased as she followed.

“I’ll keep that in mind though..no midnight snacks,” Leo joked as the walked through the manor.
