I lived at the local SPCA since I was about two months old. A good samaritan found me and six other kittens in an alley by their house. There were 3 large kittens (1 of them was me) that were about 2 months old and the other 4 were about a month old. They believe that my kitty mom and the younger one’s mom were either sisters or at least related in some ways, just for the fact that we were in the same nesting area. The good samaritan took care of us hoping that one of the kitty moms would come back for us but never did. Once he realized that none of our moms would come back he called the local Animal Care & Care. The staff told him to take us to the shelter to ensure our safely and health. He already knew that we were all sick. None of us was doing well at our young age and we were pretty ill looking. Lucky for us we made to the local shelter where they had the vet, who gave us a health checkup. The bad news was that we all had far too many infections. All of us had too many infections to count. Some of the illnesses included lung infection, heart worms, respiratory infection, urinary tract infection and many, many more to name. Some of the staff thought we wouldn’t make it because of our illnesses. It took all of us almost three months, some a little longer to get better. Lucky for all of us that we made it and became healthy enough to get adopted out. During my stay at the shelter I became bonded with my kitty pal, Nova who was a month younger than me. The staff believe that we are cousins. No matter what we did, we did it together. It was nice having another kitty around when I was sick, it made me fight to get well. It didn’t take too long for both of us to get healthy enough to be adopted out. I’ve gotten better by the time the staff place us in our own room, Nova still need medicine for her respiratory infection. The SPCA place our photo on their website and 3 days later mom went on there and saw us. It didn’t take her long to come down to the shelter. It was the same day. Mom spent about 45 minutes with us in the shelter, playing and holding us. Mom feel in love with us the minute she saw us. The staff at the local SPCA did a get job in socializing us. We already loved to be petted. After she spent time with us, she went to the staff to sign the papers for the adoption. Once it was completed they gave mom a starter kit; small bag of dry food, 6 cans of wet food, collars for each of us, and revolution. Mom was so happy to have active kittens again in the house. The only reason she chosen younger kitties was the fact that she had dogs and older cats. None of the older cats at the adoption center did well with dogs. That’s what the adoption staff told her. Plus, mom already fell in love with us before she met us in person. The funny thing was that we didn’t even have a problem going in to the cat carriers that mom brought with her. We sat in it, quiet as a mouse. We walked home and got to see the city. It was loud which didn’t scare us as much as mom thought it would. We just sat watching all the moving cars, bus and people. It was nice to get a forever home with family to love us. We were on the skinny side when we finally gotten to our forever home. Mom placed us in the bedroom so we would be comfortable. It didn’t take us long to explore our new room. We were everywhere with nothing stopping us, well almost nothing. The only thing that scare us the most was the children and the dogs. They were super excited to see some new animals in the house that they keep trying to come into the room just to see us. Our pawrents had to give the children a few minutes every few hours to spend some time getting to know us. We gotten use to mom first, then dad and our oldest child. She always greets us when she wakes up and says goodnight when she goes to bed. We still haven’t gotten use to the three youngest of our children. They’re still learning how to play, pet and care for us properly. Our pawrents always supervise the younger children when they would like to be around us for their safety and ours. We spent about two weeks in the room before we gotten more comfortable exploring the other places of the house. I’m a big eater and mom always feeds us twice a day with dry food. It didn’t take me long to get into the routine of getting feed. When I hear the cat food bag, I will run into the kitchen and watch mom as I meow. She doesn’t feed us in the kitchen like she does the dogs or other pets. We have a special place in the living room on a special table for us kittens. I will then follow behind her and jump on the table until she places the food down, meowing until I could eat my food. I do love it when one of my pawrents gives us wet food which is about once week or every two weeks. Mom is training to sit and wait until she finishes placing the bowls on the table. We’re still working on that. One of the best thing is that my pawrents would give us little treats, sandwich meat, cooked chicken, cooked pork and other types of cooked meat. I’m always expecting treats and have gain some good weight since we came to our forever home. I’m the more relax one compared to Nova. I love to sleep in or around the cat tree. One favorite sleeping stop is on top of mom’s desk next to her computer. I love to be petted but won’t come to anyone. I will meow for attention but my family would have to come to me and most of the time they will. I guess you can call me the lazy cat. I sleep most of the day (most days) and will be up late at night playing with Nova or one of my big cat toys. My favorite game is chasing Nova all over the house. Sometimes she doesn’t like playing with me because I get too excited and hurt her sometimes. Mom watches me very closely when I become ruff with Nova to make sure none of us get hurt bad. When I’m up in the mornings, I like to look out the window and get my sunbath (if it’s sunny). I could spend hours like that just sitting in the window. Sometimes, the dogs will chase me away.
