When it came to dancing Hanbin was more than confident he could even continue dancing in the dark if he wanted to without messing up once, however no matter how hardworking he was he knew when it was time to take a break. He really didn’t feel like ending up in the hospital due to overworking himself. It had happened to him once before in the past and he didn’t want to go through that again, having to take a few days to rest when he should be using that time to practice.

As he sat down next to the older male, breathing heavily and drinking the last bit of water that was in the bottle he had just picked up, he hadn’t really expected the other to really ask what he did and it caused him to freeze in place momentarily. Just sitting there without moving a muscle and staring at the floor a few feet in front of him. He could only nod in response, which in fact was a lie. It took him a few moments to finally speak, taking some time to catch his breath before answering. “I’m fine, hyung. I just feel like I need more improvement on my dancing is all.”

What he said wasn’t completely a lie because he did feel like he needed, more like wanted, to improve his skills however it was also partially a lie. He wasn’t really feeling alright, having quite a few things on his mind lately and having to deal with those things plus dealing with practices was stressing him out quite a bit. However no matter how convincing he tried to sound when answering Yongguk, he was still horrible when it came to lying and it often showed. When he usually spoke to people he would look them in the eyes while speaking however when he lied he would obviously avoid making eye contact but how could he actually tell the truth? How could he tell the male that he really wasn’t fine and that he was in fact stressed especially when one of the problems he was dealing with had to do with him and Junhoe not getting along?

Hanbin knew it was only a matter of time before those around him and Junhoe finally started picking up on what was going on between the two of them, however he wanted to avoid having people find out because he wasn’t sure of how the outcome of it would be. Another thing he was worried about had something to do with another person in the company however he wasn’t sure of the outcome of that either. If anyone found out about it, especially that person in particular, he was afraid of what would happen. Afraid that he would end up being kicked out of not only the group but also the company as well if either of those things were ever revealed.

He gave a smile to the male and took the water bottle that was offered to him. “Thank you, hyung.” He stated, finally making eye contact with the other. He honestly wanted to tell Yongguk what was wrong, tell him that he was in fact stressed and that he had a lot on his mind lately, however he didn’t want to drag the older male into the middle of his problems.

Hanbin was someone who often bragged about his little sister especially to his fellow members but he honestly couldn’t help it. His little sister meant the world to him, a little more than his parents did, and he loved his sister a lot. Anyone who had met his sister had fallen in love with her cuteness and it was one of the many things that he loved about her, she was just too cute to ignore. He honestly figured that the other members, or even his friends, had grown tired of hearing about the little girl and he actually felt sorry about it.

He remembered the day she had been born and remembered the first time he had held her, it was then that he knew what it was like to actually be an older brother. As she started getting older he began growing even more protective over her, which of course was expected to happen. Some people found it cute or even sweet how he was with her and others found it slightly annoying but he usually would just shrug them off because he didn’t care. He loved his little sister and that’s all that really mattered to him, well besides dancing and rapping of course.

Hanbin smiled, laughing a little at Junghoon’s words. “I’m not really sure if anyone could be ready for it, I know I wasn’t when she was first born. Even when she first started walking and talking I couldn’t help but fall for her charms.” He gave a shrug. “Who knows, you might even end up falling for her as well.”

Tilting his head slightly and letting his mind process what the older male had just said he looked at the other before giving him a smile. “Well, you’ll just have to find out on your own. I won’t tell you what she’s like this way you can worry even more on the way.” He stated as he gently nudged the other with his elbow and laughed again before he began walking with his suitcase before Junghoon could question him further, whistling a random song. His sister wasn’t really someone that the other, or even anyone else, had to worry about however he wanted to see how the older male would react.

He kept smiling mostly to himself as he thought about not only being able to see his sister again but also being able to see his parents as well. Hanbin just hoped that his mom wouldn’t be too surprised by their sudden visit since he hadn’t exactly contacted her ahead of time and told her. He also hoped that Junghoon would feel comfortable around his family, not wanting the older to feel out of place or anything once they both got to his parents’ house.

Once the two of them walked out the doors of the airport, finding a taxi, loading their suitcases into the trunk and giving the driver the address where they were heading, Hanbin couldn’t really sit still in the seat. He was growing even more anxious the closer they got. It hadn’t really been long since the last time he had seen his family however he still missed them, almost like he hadn’t seen them in years, and he couldn’t wait to have a good home cooked meal made by his mom, something he missed quite a bit.

[ /she gasps, feigning surprise and placing a hand over her heart. she’s heard it before, actually, but of course, it’s all fun and games. she doesn’t imagine anyone, including herself, could picture kang seulgi actually abusing anyone. the image is just too funny; kang seulgi could barely even muster up the courage to say no to strangers, let alone abuse anyone ] really? what about helping each other out and practicing together; building character! [ /she insists, huffing softly ] I’d sing for you for free… [ /pouting, she listens carefully to his words, her ears popping up at his next joke, a roll of her eyes punctuating his sentence ] maybe I will, and maybe while I’m out, I’ll get you some glasses, because I am 100% the scariest person in galaxy. it’s always the little, quiet ones you have to be careful of, hanbinnie… [ /she warns softly, wagging her finger at the taller ] Most sweetest guy I’ll ever meet? [ /deciding to flip the situation over, she bravely adds ] that sounds awfully lot like a plea, hanbinnie. do you like me? [ /she giggles to herself, eyes wide and eyelashes batting together. she’s putting in a decent effort into some natural aegyo she’s not sure even works, but if it does, it’ll be worth the look on his face, she hopes ]

[ /he scoffs a little and rolls his eyes playfully. ] I still say that it’s abuse. [ /he thought about what she said and gave a slight shrug. ] I don’t see why we couldn’t. The question is, would you be able to keep up with me? Y’know, I’m a pretty amazing dancer after all. [ /he spoke in a joking tone as he nudged her gently with his arm. chuckling he ruffles her hair a little, mostly to just mess with her. ] Well, I feel so loved knowing that you would sing to me for free but I still will have to charge you either way. [ /he laughs at her words and shakes his head ] There’s absolutely nothing scary about you. Also, don’t call me that. It’s just Hanbin, noona~ [ /his eyes widen at her words and he can’t help but burst out into laughter. he cringes a little ] You aren’t my type noona, sorry. Also, please refrain from doing anything like that again in the future. It creeps me out. [ /he didn’t exactly hate aegyo however since him and Seulgi were so close to one another, seeing her do something like that was just weird for him. ]

“I hope so,” she muses breathlessly, eyes sparkling at the sight of the stage, the crowd, everything around her. “you’ll come see me? Ah, think of all the scandals I’m going to get into with you VOLTAGE boys.” She laughs, nudging the taller on the arm with her shoulder, a bright smile on her features. Truthfully, she doesn’t think they’ll be all that worrying. Her reputation, she hopes, will be one akin to f(x)’s Amber, in which she’s accepted as just easily making friends with boys and nothing more. That, and well, they’re all on the same label, right? It’s only likely they’d be good friends. 

“Your mum must be so jealous you’re here,” she giggles, thinking of Mrs Kim at home, wishing she was in Seulgi’s seat next to her son. “Does she get all over excited and jump up and down like a lot fangirls?” She speaks from experience, of course, but Hanbin doesn’t need to know that. She knew, when she got older and had her own kids, it would probably have been the same had she not auditioned for Galaxy. Now she imagines having a family would be difficult; always in the public eye, but Tablo had done it just fine, and his daughter was adorable, so maybe she’d be alright.

Hanbin smiled at her and nodded. “Of course I will. I’ll be sitting front row cheering loudly for you.” He stated while nudging her gently. He gave a slight shrug. “Hey, at least you would be getting into scandals with some great guys.” He jokingly stated with a chuckle. He may have been joking at the moment however when it came to things like scandals he never really understood why people, like fans and even the media, made such a big deal about things like that. He always thought that, even if dating rumors turned out to be true in the entertainment industry, it shouldn’t matter because idols were all human. Even if a male and female idol were close, occasionally, there would be dating rumors even if the two were just friends. It was understandable that being an idol meant that they would no longer have private lives, however at the same time he didn’t see why some people made such a big deal out of things involving idols and who they hung out with or who they dated.

He shook his head and chuckled lightly. “She doesn’t even know that I’m here. If she did then she would of most likely dropped everything she was doing just to fly here and see them herself.” He rolled his eyes at the thought. “She actually does, which is really embarrassing sometimes. She has every album they’ve ever released up until now, she has all kinds of merch that she’s bought over the years.” He let out a soft sigh. “She’s just out of control and can’t be stopped when it comes to them.” He remembered when he first came to Seoul and even remembered what she had told him before he left. Telling him that if he were to ever meet Shinhwa in person then he would have to take a picture with them, get all of their autographs and send the picture to her. However he had never really met them in person so even up until now he still hadn’t been able to do what she asked him to do. He loved his mother however her obsession over the group often got out of hand.

➢A Helping Hand ➻ HanbinxAmber

Hanbin had been busy practicing most of the day and hadn’t really left the practice room at all except for a few times to eat and to use the bathroom when needed to. It was like this for him most days because he would get lost in practicing that he rarely left, occasionally forgetting to eat when he was a little too focused on practices. Even though he was known as a great dancer among the group he still often felt like he was lacking in some ways in which he would force himself to practice even harder due to not really feeling all too confident in how he did every now and then. Today was one of those days. It was the middle of the day and his fellow members had all gone to eat however he had stayed behind because he was feeling unsure about a few moves in the choreography in which he told the others that he would just stay and work on the dance a little more.

He was in the middle of practicing, his shirt drenched in sweat and breathing heavily, when someone entered the practice room. He figured it was one of the other members of VOLTAGE however when he looked through the mirror he saw it wasn’t one of his fellow members but rather a female. Stopping in the middle of dancing he walked over to the small radio and shut the music off, grabbing a water bottle and taking a quick few drinks before flashing a friendly smile towards the female. “Can I help you with something?” He questioned, slightly curious as to why a female would even be visiting the practice room. It was actually rare for females to visit the practice rooms where the male’s usually practiced at so he was kind of taken aback by seeing the female there and was unsure of what to do.

✈Vacation ➻ HanbinxJ-Hoon

Hanbin hadn’t been able to sleep the previous night because he had been too excited so he ended up staying up all night packing things he would need for this small trip that he was going on with his fellow VOLTAGE member Junghoon. Since the two had been exhausted lately due to the long practices Hanbin had asked for permission to take a short vacation and invited the older male along. They were heading to Jeju to where Hanbin’s family lived which was the main reason why he was excited and couldn’t sleep. He hadn’t seen his parents, or even his little sister, in a while and he couldn’t wait to see them again. Even on the plane he couldn’t help but stay awake despite how tired he was from having no sleep, he was just way too excited.

Another reason for his excitement was because Junghoon was also going along and Hanbin couldn’t wait to let the older male meet his family, especially his little sister who Hanbin absolutely adored. It also meant that the two could spend some time together and relax. Hanbin did feel bad for not having invited the other members as well however they had all been busy wit their own stuff so it would just bee him and Junghoon. He was excited to finally get the chance to relax after so long, even though it had only technically been a little over a year, maybe even two, that he had seen his family.

Hanbin hadn’t exactly told his parents that him and Junghoon would be visiting for a few days because he had wanted to surprise them so it was not surprising when they had landed and gotten off the plane that there was no one there to greet them. He smiled as he looked around the airport and stretched his arms over his head, feeling even more awake now that they had landed. Hanbin looked over at Junghoon and wrapped an arm around the other’s shoulders, the smile growing even bigger. He was unable to hide the excitement that he was feeling at that moment. “Hyung, are you ready to meet the most adorable little girl ever?” He asked the other, basically, and shamelessly, bragging about his own little sister. He couldn’t help it though, his little sister was someone he loved more than anything in the world, well besides his parents as well.

Hanbin wasn’t exactly worried about doing this exact dance with Joy, in fact he was glad that it was her rather than someone he didn’t really know, however he was worried that sooner or later she would end up finding out that he still loved her. He was worried that she would laugh at him and tell him that he hung onto these feelings all this time for nothing and that he was an idiot for doing so. It would of course be a lot easier to just tell her that he still had feelings for her rather than hiding it like how he was doing however he was afraid of what she would respond once he did. It was the main reason why he hadn’t allowed himself to confess his lingering feelings sooner when he had first realized that she was also a trainee at Galaxy. To him, this was the best way.

Even as he sat there staring at the screen in front of him he wasn’t exactly paying attention but rather was lost in his own thoughts. Thinking about how he would get through this whole thing without letting his own feelings be revealed to her. It wasn’t until he had heard her speak that he finally snapped out of his own thoughts and looked up at her, only then realizing how close the two were. It took him a little bit to actually finally speak, getting up as he did and making his way over to the middle of the room. “True, but we can just hold off on doing the last part until later. For now we can just cofus on the dance.” He said this, referring to the kiss that they had to do. He didn’t know why the dance instructor had chosen this exact song or even why the older male had told them to add in the kiss however a part of him was actually glad that the man had partnered them up and even chose the song. It gave Hanbin the chance to get close to Joy and spend time with her however it was also a bad thing due to the fact that he had to constantly remind himself to keep his feelings hidden throughout this whole thing.

After he had reached the middle of the room he looked towards her. “Shall we start practicing? Or do you need to watch the video a few more times first?” He asked this out of consideration towards her because he wasn’t really sure if she knew the dance or not. He however had actually even got to one of the live broadcasts before and watched the performance live so he pretty much knew most of the dance from memory, a pro to being a dancer himself. He could easily memorize dance moves without a problem.

Hanbin seems to laugh at her and though she can’t be sure if he’s laughing more at her in amusement or otherwise, she’s encouraged to believe it’s the former and chooses to frown playfully in return. By the time she gets to it, however, the moment’s passed, and she’s not convinced he even notices. He’s pretty pumped now, from what Seulgi can tell, even if she’s a little blinded by her own excitement. She really is fascinated by the venue; the atmosphere; being at a concert. Just being here, not even thinking about the future, is pumping adrenaline around her body. She wants to jump around already, and the music hadn’t even started. Holding it in, she simply fidgets in her seat to get comfortable. “I hope it’s the same for me.” She mumbles nervously. It sounded like a big feat — to be one of her favourite moments. That was a large reputation to live up to, but she hoped he’d be right; that tonight would be one of the best experiences of her life.  “I’m not a big fan either,” she admits with a shrug, “I’m more excited about the experience, I think, than the group. I know a couple songs, so I’ll be singing along to those, but otherwise, I’ll probably just be joining in with whatever’s going on around me.” She’d never really listened to Shinhwa; which surprises most. Seulgi probably strikes everyone as being a girl who would know the super-group, but truthfully, she’d never really liked a single genre. She listens to a bit of everything; a new love for hip-hop growing recently under Hyeri and Bang’s influence, and no doubt Hanbin’s too if he gets the chance. But either way, she’s intrigued by tonight. Maybe she’ll come out of the arena a massive fan, or a casual fan, or neutral as she is now, but one thing she did know for sure was that she was so excited she could burst.

Hanbin flashed her a smile when she spoke, patting her gently on her shoulder. “I’m sure that when the day comes where you’re finally able to stand on stage it will be the same. Who knows? You might even have a lot more fans in the crowd than this in the future.” He gave her a reassuring smile. “I’ll be one of those fans sitting front row cheering for you, maybe even holding a sign with your name on it.” He chuckled lightly at his own words however it was in fact true, every single bit of it. If given the chance he would definitely be one of the many people in the crowd in the future whenever she finally made her debut.

“All I know about them is that they’re our seniors and that my mom is rather a huge fan of them.” He said as he rolled his eyes at the thought. It wasn’t that he thought his mother being a fan of the group was ridiculous however he had seen how she had been while he grew up and she would see them on TV. The memory made him chuckle again, shaking his head. He loved his mother a lot, he really did, however when it came to Shinhwa the woman could go on and on for hours talking about each of the members, almost like a crazy fan who knew every single detail about idols.

[ /she chuckles immediately, an amused tone to her voice, but also a small one of satisfaction. seeing the boy squirming was a delight and she can only laugh louder at his cute whining ] I’m not abusive! I’m lovingly forceful. [ /she tilts her head to the side cutely, blinking before bursting into giggles ] a fee? friend discount? respect your elders! [ /of course, she’s barely older than him, but her point still stands. really, she doesn’t mean it. he’s very respectful towards her (mostly), so she couldn’t really ask for more ] that tone! that sarcastic tone! you should be scared. [ /she threatens, puffing out her chest to appear tough. it’s a poor attempt, and she’s the furthest from scary at galaxy, probably, but it’s all for fun and seulgi’s having just that ] you’re so rude to your noona. so rude. [ /shaking her head, she sighs dramatically ] you are so a kid. you’re such a child! having me around makes you lucky, excuse you. [ /she grins playfully, reaching out to nudge the younger with a bright chuckle ] what a pain… [ /there’s no malice behind it, instead a smile. he’s a pain, sure, but he’s a welcome pain ]

[/ he rolled his eyes playfully with a smile on his face. ] “Sure, you’re not. You call it being ‘lovingly forceful’ but everyone else calls it being abusive. [/ he laughed a little at her words as he shrugged. ] “Well, just because we are friends doesn’t mean that I’m going to just dance for you and not expect money out of it.” [/ he laughed yet again and shook his head. ] “Noona, there’s nothing scary about you. Also I wasn’t be sarcastic, you’re just hearing things. Maybe you should go get your ears checked out or something.” [/ he jokingly said as he turned towards her, a warm smile on his face as he looked at her. He was of course just messing with her like how they did a lot when they were around each other. He would never actually say any of the things he was saying now and actually mean them, she was a close friend in which he cared about after all. ] “Hey, I’m not being rude. If you haven’t forgotten, I’m the most sweetest guy you’ll ever meet. Besides you bring this all upon yourself whenever you go and call me a kid.” [/ he laughed when she had nudged him. ] “I may be a pain but you still love me either way.”

Hanbin thought about it for a moment. “The cutest couple? It would probably have to be… Well I’m not really sure actually.” He laughed a little and gave shrug.

Hanbin knew that he should probably be the bigger person and try to fix things between him and Junhoe because they were both in the same group however he just couldn’t bring himself to actually do that. There had been times where he would think about the outcome of their little feud, knowing that if word were to get out and both the media and their fans were to find out that the two of them actually couldn’t stand each other things would become bad, but Junhoe always seemed to enjoy messing with him which just made him dislike the younger even more.

Even when Junhoe had asked him to help him with the dance Hanbin wanted to just tell him no and leave. He didn’t want to stay another minute in the same room with the other but since there were others in the same room with them he had no choice but to smile and agree to help him. Hanbin gave a nod before replying back to him. “Sure.” He simply said before looking over at the other members and watching as they finished packing up their personal belongings and began leaving the practice room.

When the others were finally gone Hanbin let out a sigh and returned his gaze towards Junhoe, showing that he was actually annoyed at the moment. “Let’s just hurry up and get this over with.” He simply said, clearly showing that he didn’t even want to be doing this at the moment however if Junhoe did in fact need help and wasn’t just doing this to piss him off Hanbin knew it was only right to help him because despite not liking the younger male they were still in the same group after all and it wouldn’t really be good if even just one person screwed up the dance because then they would all end up getting yelled at by the dance instructor later on. It was better to just suck it up and help Junhoe to avoid getting yelled at later on rather than not help the other and have to end up hearing a long lecture.
