I am disgusted by the behavior of a large part of Alexia's so-called loyal fans! All of you “loyal fans” swore allegiance to her almost to the grave, and now you are wasting energy!!! And why? Because she went to England, not to the damn American or Mexican league! As you imagined, but it didn’t work out! Stop dictating Alexia’s life! She is neither stupid (as you are trying to make her out to be), nor is she waiting for your permission to go wherever she wants! She gave everything to Barca! A team that, at a difficult moment for her, was ready to kick her out! She wants to move forward! Without tension, without stress, without constant explanations! And she did, she has the right to do so! She has the right to free herself and be what she is, the Best in the World! And she will continue to prove it, no matter where she is! She chose England because she chose her family and friends over the American and Mexican fat checks that were promised to her! She chose an impersonal club! Not Arsenal, not Chelsea, not Manchester City! Just a faceless club at the bottom of the rankings! Alexia Putellas has been more than a player — she has been an icon. For 14 years, she was Barcelona, and Barcelona was her. She gave us beautiful moments that will live forever, and she made so many of us fall in love with this club, with this crest, and with this game. She became the epitome of Spanish football.

I may not like the club she’s rumored to join, but I will follow her story wherever it goes. I will support her, because legends deserve that loyalty in return. And somehow, I’ll have to learn to live with the reality that she will no longer wear the blaugrana jersey.

None of us truly know what happens behind the scenes, but I don’t believe this decision is only about money. As a woman in football, financial security matters, and maybe she also sees something in that club that others don’t yet see — potential, ambition, a future she wants to help build.

But selfishly, I will miss her.

I will miss seeing Alexia in blaugrana on matchdays. I will miss the tracksuit walks into the stadium, the way she kissed the crest, the way she bowed her head to the culers after another magical night at the Johan or Camp Nou. I will miss the feeling of knowing our captain was there.

What a beautiful, heartbreaking end to an era.

i've gotten a few asks about this, but apparently people don’t understand what it means to care about your football club, so let me explain 😂

for culers who grew up with this team, barça is completely tied to catalan identity and being a symbol of barcelona itself. there's a reason the slogan is: "visca el barça i visca catalunya" 💛❤️💛

i don’t expect new football fans or non-culers to understand what that sentiment means or expect you to feel what it means to be passionate about a football club. but to culers, being a member of this team is more than just a “job.” it's more than just "football."

which is why it hurts even more when homegrown players who claim they are at “the club of their life” leave when they don’t have to. some players understand that and other don’t. but what’s clear is that if you don’t understand why barça fans are upset when players leave like this, then you really don’t understand this club at all. and there’s nothing else i can say. 🤷‍♀️

What a mess this game was! We have zero defence! Alexia should’ve played as a defender too! Where was Ona!!! Or she’s already packed her sacks to England? She didn’t want to play against Lucy. She didn’t even try to stop her! Alexia was super tired since the beginning of the game! Patri and Pina slept and without her they couldn’t make something…brave! And why Olga was there🤔Mariona is playing in England and that’s understandable although this time was useless! Sonia, do something brainy or we won’t qualify for next World Cup 😒
