MISHFIT - CONTEMPORARY URBAN ARTIST

Mishfit occupies the hinterland between street art and fine art painting. An active part of UK street art for over 15 years, she has since painted internationally from the streets of Melbourne to Europe’s biggest street art festival, Upfest. From her studio in Brighton, she now creates colour-drenched artwork, combining spray paint and oil paint, to create an energetic style that captures the raw process of creativity. Clashing traditional painting methods with a fresh contemporary urban art edge.

Drawing on a broad spectrum of inspiration, from old master paintings to sci-fi and 80s futurism, Mish has developed a visual language of dreamlike luminous cloudscapes as a metaphor for human emotion. Sometimes interwoven with obscured figurative elements, she creates poignant, relatable paintings that explore our shared experiences and celebrate the commonalities that make us human.

Her last 2 collections have been a way to process the impact the pandemic had on society. Her 2021 “Lost Embrace” collection sought to reclaim the moments of human contact that didn't get to happen during lockdown. Her most recent collection 2022 “Bubblegum Apocalypse” is an irreverent look at how we have coped (or not) with the absurdities and madness of the past few years.

B A Z A A R S : Nov 1 – 7 B A Z A A R S : A Breakaway Brighton-based Robin Feix is a French visual artist and illustrator. “My aim is to try and create what we longed to achieve as children. For me it’s about losing control to find another way forward, more poetic, naive and direct.” B A Z A A R S is a release, an escape, a childhood dream in every sense of the term. Robin Feix is also a musician, bass player of the band Louise Attaque.
