...but what else could i be besides a WEAPON? ever since the government betrayed them and tried to kill the former cp9 agents this question had been on his mind. because a weapon was all he was made to be. lucci never even thought about CHOOSING to be anything else, why would he? there really was no need for that, but here he was, and for the first time in his life he found himself to be FREE.
no orders, no objections, no targets to eliminate - nothing. he could actually do whatever he wanted right now. it felt strange, but maybe iceburg was right. mybe he could be something else, something MORE than a tool. the ex-assassin let out a hum.
❝ thank you for the unprompted LIFE LESSON, iceburg. ❞ sarcasm was evident in his tone, yet it was far less than iceburg was used to. green eyes narrowed as his voice carried on, deeper in tone.
❝ as much as i appreciate your advice, i think you'd best save your pity for someone else. who says change is always for the BETTER? you haven't seen the worst of it all yet, just why are you so adamant to see the good in everyone? ❞

arms fold over his chest as iceburg's lips turn down in a slight frown, more akin to a pout, really, than anything else. his dark lips then purse as the former cp9 agent goes on, shaking his head before he responds out loud.
"your sarcasm doesn't fool me, lucci. you can try to hide behind it, but it won't work. i know you know i'm right."
he steps towards the other man, head tilting up as he gets closer and is forced to look up at him, his frown staying even as he's nearly chest to chest with lucci, crowding his space in an attempt of intimidation. not that he wants to make lucci scared, but rather, he wants lucci to know that he's serious, and he's not going to be intimidated in turn.
"the world can be a brutal place, i know that. that's why i want to see the good in people- because no matter how bad the world gets, it doesn't have to be that way. i choose to see what good there is so we don't lose it."
he tilts his head slightly now, the frown once more turning to more of a pout, arms falling for a moment before he reaches up to brush a stray strand of hair from lucci's face.
"you'll find the world easier to live in if you do the same. i can't imagine the horrors you've been through, but if anything, you should see the good out there to spite the people who hurt you. exist in spite of them, be happy so prove them wrong."
weapons don't weep, but people aren't weapons. not to iceburg.
