Just as video killed the radio star, do video games mean the end of classic board games like Monopoly, Candy Land, and Scrabble, as well as the development of new ones? We don’t think so!

We’re giving away FREE T-SHIRTS!!!
We just got a shipment of misprinted t-shirts and are raffling some of them off while we await the replacement items. The fronts are perfect and beautiful but the backs are missing most of the white ink in the Steampunk Goggles logo. Luckily the t-shirt company agreed to replace them for free.
So for this contest, we’re giving away 1 each in men’s sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL.
To win, just "Like" the Galliant Games Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/galliantgames and then post your shirt size as a comment on this post and “Like” the post.
We’ll pick one lucky winner for each of the sizes (5 in all) at random and we’ll post a video of the results on Youtube.
In the US: we’ll cover the shipping costs.
Outside the US: you would need to just send us $10 USD through Paypal to help cover the shipping costs if you win.
If you’re an existing backer of our last Kickstarter project and can wait until we ship out our decks then it would be a huge help, but it’s not necessary.
Deadline to win: 12 Midnight EST (GMT -5) on Friday 5/9/14.

Board Games Originated as Elite Pastime
THE GIST
- Board games likely originated in Egypt and the Fertile Crescent before spreading to other regions.
- India and China also had very early board games, but the exact dates of their creation remain unknown.
- The earliest board games appear to have been reserved for the elite and spread throughout Europe during the Roman conquest.
Competitive board games -- played on the ground, on the floor, or on boards -- emerged as pastimes for the elite, with the Roman Empire spreading their popularity throughout Europe, according to a new study.

7 More Videogame Worlds It Would Seriously Suck To Live In
Sonic the Hedgehog
The world of Sonic is generally pretty terrible - everything is divided into insanely-dangerous, completely incongruous ‘zones’ - from lava-filled ruins to a world of enormous casinos to a place that’s just nothing but pollution. And odds are you’re going to be a tiny forest critter who’s subjected to one of two fates: either being locked in a capsule, waiting desperately for anyone to come by and press a button to release you (hopefully they come fast enough) or getting a sweet robot-body and inevitably having it destroyed by an out-of-control enormous hedgehog whose body is essentially covered in blades. You’re nothing but a pawn caught between groups of beings trying to collect super-gems that will give them Dragonball Z knockoff powers.
And while humans DID become part of the Sonic mythos later on (not including Dr. Robotnik, who was bizarrely the only human present for the first couple games in the series), life isn’t gonna be much better for you. In fact, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be kissing anthropomorphic hedgehogs before you know it.

Bryan Berg is a professional card stacker and currently holds the Guinness records for the Tallest House of Freestanding Playing Cards and The World’s Largest House of Freestanding Playing Cards.
Introduced to the art of card stacking by his grandfather when he was 8 years old, Bryan has spent the last 30 years perfecting his craft and repeatedly breaking his own awesome records. His card structures a built with standard decks of playing cards and do not rely on any folding, tape, glue or other trickery in order to hold together.
"I have many techniques that I use to build my structures from standard commercially available decks of cards," he explained. "I’m never just randomly placing cards, I’m always following a set technique for a certain visual or structural goal. All of the cards are placed at right angles in such a way as to brace each other from falling over or bending under a load."
"Most of the time my structures do not collapse, says Bryan. "Because of the structural geometry and all the weight of the cards, they are very strong and stable."
Visit Bryan Berg’s website to check out many more of his amazing playing card structures.
