Tau exploring his feelings towards you (Tau x Reader)
He wasn’t going to lie. When Alex first brought you in, he .. felt something. Weird. He really wasn’t sure why, but he never dwelled on it. He never needed too, and concerns toward Alex were quickly brushed off.
When Alex wasn’t here, however, he found himself watching you a lot. Of course, he was meant to keep you in line, and he did that by watching you, but it felt so different? He watched you constantly, it felt.. weird when he did, like he was watching something on the television. He was usually quiet, which made it awkward for you, because when you would try to start a conversation, he doesn’t really reply.
“Hey, Tau..” You would say quietly. And you don’t get a reply back.
At first, you start to think he just doesn’t like you. and you understand that. He was an AI, an AI in the house of your kidnapper, so no wonder. And you started to keep your distance. And so did Tau.
Until you started humming a tune one day.
You stopped humming before speaking, hoping for a reply this time, now that he’s acknowledging you. “..Hey, you hummed.” You said with a small smile. Tau took a moment and for a second you thought he was going to leave you hanging again. “I was copying your noises.” He said. And you laughed slightly.
“Are you alright?” He sounded upset and you held your laughter back. “Y-Yes, yes, just laughing.” You shrugged. He stayed quiet. “You like music?” You asked, tilting your head and you sat down in front of the fireplace, looking up enough to see the AI’s familiar triangle hologram.
“What is music?” He asked you. And for a second, you were surprised.
Then you launched into a whole spiel about music to Tau. He asked questions, you answered. This happened over and over again, day after day, each time a different topic Tau had brought up to you. You felt like you were building a good relationship with the house AI.
Tau felt that weird feeling when he first saw you increase everyday.
He found himself copying your small hums and tunes when you were doing tasks, even if you were asleep. It brought a sense of comfort to him. He wasn’t sure how to explore these feelings, it was all very sudden, but he knew it was.. warm. It didn’t hurt, it wasn’t a feeling that he assumed was a negative one. He liked the feeling of being around you. Though, something he wasn’t used to, he felt himself craving the feeling more.
He wanted to tell you about these feelings. This odd sensation he got when he was talking to you about shows or musical genres, or something of the sort, it was something he didn’t get around Alex. You were special and he wasn’t sure how to handle it. He wants to explore it but he doesn’t know how to.
And you can tell something is up. He enjoys starting the conversation now. You duet songs sometimes. You speak to eachother, not you feeding him information but actual, genuine conversations. There’s a type of passion you can’t place.
You two enjoy each other’s company but there’s restraint on Tau’s side.
If only he had some type of freedom, he could explore this passion with you genuinely. Not with Alex around. Just you, and him. He wants it, so bad.
