remy was skulking around the forest outside camp half blood. was he explicitly told to never go into them alone because they were infested with monsters? yes. did he specifically choose the woods to hang out in because he figured he'd be alone? also yes.

it turned out he assumed wrong. footsteps could be heard behind him.

"shit." remy ducked behind one of the trees, hoping he hadn't been seen or heard, fearing he was both.

whether someone was a year rounder or a summer camper, they received the same warnings about going into the forest surrounding camp alone. ryker - having been at camp since he was ten - was confident he could recite those same warnings by heart. however, he also could use a few minutes to himself right now. his older half siblings had gone to visit their respective mortal families, promising they would be back soon. and ryker definitely missed them dearly, yet he didn't want to risk his own bad mood bringing the vibes down around camp.

sure, everyone had rough days. ryker was just extremely hesitant to show that he was having one. he knew other people could pick up the slack of joking and pranking, maintaining morale as well as the generally 'fun' atmosphere, but the last thing he wanted to do was cause worry. especially because there were campers who had it far worse than he did. who deserved those warm, caring energies more than some lonely khione kid.

then he heard someone curse followed by rustling. carefully, ryker moved closer towards the source of the sounds as he called out, "hey, sorry if i spooked you. guess i was a little more lost in thought than i originally believed."

being made of mist, created to always know where those of the divine world were, jakke was always aware of those around him. of their auras, their emotions, their temperaments ("their vibes," as his younger brother would say; benes needed less screentime, in jakke's opinion).

point being—it was not often jakke was caught off-guard.

a sibling stepped foot into his store. but not one he would have expected—three sets of small feet, followed closely by two heavier sets. the one who crossed his threshold was also of the gods. one of his creator's children.

how odd. most of the hecateans he was close with had been slaughtered, killed by their fellow demigods passed three years ago.

"why are you here?" he had moved on. been moving on for the past three years. (trying to, at least. it's hard to move on when every time he closed his eyes he saw those he failed, those he slew.) closer stores existed if they had needed supplies; he wasn't one to entertain social calls.

the trip to london was meant to be simple. a fun little vacation to visit with his friends who had returned to the private investigation business they started here years ago. asher had accompanied two of his other friends, a daughter of apollo and a daughter of aphrodite, on their flight to assist them with getting settled in. and so they all could have two more hands to hold onto during the flight.

then while he was walking around on a lunch run for the five of them, he felt the familiar 'buzzings' of magic for lack of a better descriptor. akin to when his magic combined with his father's, but different. this felt like greek magic, not norse. and asher's naturally inquisitive personality had seemingly increased tenfold now that his friend group expanded to include four private investigators who were all intelligent in their own ways.

they decided to take a chance and felt themself moving forward, ready to investigate. they carefully opened the door then stepped inside, immediately feeling at ease. asher practically grew up in lucian's magic shop back in new york, plus their eyes were wide with wonder as their gaze flicked around the shop.

a voice swiftly yanked asher back to reality. "i am so sorry," he started to apologize, the words leaving in a breathless manner. "i felt something familiar and my curiosity got the better of me. i can absolutely leave right now if you want?"

it's queenie, back at it again! introducing asher zachary hallow, child of hecate and legacy of loki!

born and raised in new york city, new york! their father lucian is an arcane broker who deals in rare magical artifacts, forbidden knowledge, and supernatural favors. oh, and he's a son of loki!

lucian has a trickster reputation of his own. there are no shortage of former clients who often sing his praises and return either to browse or seek his aid when necessary, there are also would be clients who wouldn't mind fighting him if given the opportunity - only to find the shop missing when they come back. these individuals tend to be people who intended to cause harm with the relics or knowledge lucian provided and swiftly found themselves dealt a hefty dose of karma.

lucian always did the best he could to shield asher from harm, whether it be from the mortal or divine worlds. part of the reason he started the shop was to keep potentially dangerous things or bits of information out of the wrong hands to ensure a safer world for his child as well as young demigods and mortals alike.

he also taught asher how to navigate the complexities of both worlds, sharing valuable lessons about strategy, survival, and self-reliance he learned while growing up. the guidance was sometimes delivered in unconventional ways yet it always came from a place of genuine care.

another series of lessons was in the realm of how to balance trickery with morality. while lucian embraces his trickery in his professional life, he is always careful to emphasize the importance of making thoughtful choices to asher. lucian encouraged asher to use his gifts responsibly, blending a sense of morality with the understanding that sometimes, bending the rules is necessary for the greater good. he was the kind of father who taught asher that cunning and compassion were not mutually exclusive.

when asher was around four or five years old, they performed magic for the first time. it was a small spell, just summoning one of his favorite stuffed animals for comfort during a storm. lucian noticed and not long after, started privately tutoring asher in how to use magic. as the years went on, asher continued to attend mortal schools while privately learning from his father as well as a few trusted family friends.

when asher was in middle school, another family friend came to visit. lucian had crossed paths with chiron multiple times over the years and the centaur remembered his friend mentioning a fling with the goddess hecate. the same fling that had produced asher. (depending on the timeline and verse) hecate didn't have a cabin yet, but chiron arrived to offer both father and child places at camp half blood. asher as a camper, lucian as a teacher who would help demigods learn how to manipulate the mist and to pass his knowledge on to any of asher's half siblings or other demigods who had been blessed by hecate.

the night before the hallows arrived at camp half blood, asher shape-shifted for the first time. lucian had secretly wondered which of loki's abilities would manifest in his child and got his answer when he woke up in the morning to discover a black cat.

and from there, the rest is history! more will come later depending on timeline and verse, that sort of thing.

and personality wise, asher is best described as someone who is clever which manifests in one of three ways: resourceful and quick to find creative solutions to problems, being wise beyond their years, or in the form of sharp wit. of course, asher will readily admit that they still have plenty of learning to do. they are also known to be fiercely loyal and compassionate to those he loves, he is often guarded and secretive, with a restless spirit that draws him to the unknown. his independence and curiosity drive him to seek out adventure, but his impulsive nature can sometimes lead him into dangerous territory and the same self sufficiency can leave him reluctant to ask for help. though he tends to mask his emotions with sarcasm and wit and often guards his heart, asher's true kindness and empathy shine through for those who earn his trust. and finally, asher does possess quite the mischievous streak as well as a playful side, often teaming up with the hermes cabin and other pranksters to pull light-hearted jokes on others.

a quick psa about changes to come!

to better fit with timelines and things, i will be changing things around about some of my muses! the list is as follows:

zander's surname! there will still be a verse where he is the adopted son of alex and magnus which will be appropriately tagged when the time comes! as of right now, my new idea for his surname is mitchell.

in the same vein, lucas' surname and bits of his backstory are also changing! there will still be a verse where he is the adopted son of will and nico! lucas' new surname will more than likely be kennedy. another new detail will be an addition to his godly heritage: lucas is now also a legacy of hermes.

elijah's got a quite few changes coming to his pjo verse backstory. he will now be a legacy of aphrodite (which manifests in shapeshifting / being able to change his appearance) and will be a son of thanatos.

i will more than likely make future posts regarding any further updates then copy-paste them here, but as of right now these are the major ones!

another wild queenie muse idea: harrison osterfield as a demigod? who will he be the demigod son of? not sure, but i'll be brainstorming and suggestions are welcome!
