A Long Overdue (and more detailed) Update To The Loud House Wiki Situation: Part 1

As some of you may remember, I made a series of posts detailing The Loud House Wiki, which regarded their incompetence and inappropriate behavior (which includes keeping a groomer as a content moderator on the Wiki despite banning him from the Discord. Yes, absolutely.

I had posted about it on DeviantArt to raise awareness, and a user on the wiki found it and reposted it to wiki discussions:

I would end up responding to the post, and someone else would find out about it, that being the YouTuber Common Human Error, who would post it to the wiki channel on the Discord.

(If you are wondering, yes I did get into touch with CHE and filled them in on the situation) Shortly afterwards, the post (and the link CHE posted in the wiki channel) would be deleted by staff, and Luan (one of the wiki’s administrators) would message me wanting to speak with me:

I would add him on Discord to see what he had to say.

To say Luan was difficult is an understatement; he would frequently deflect to side issues instead of focusing on the most serious allegations, and was incredibly defensive.

For example, among the first things he honed in on was the fact that screenshots from as far back as 2017 were included. The reason I included them was that inappropriate behavior persisted on the server, as evident from screenshots as recent as 2023.

And regarding the inappropriate stickers used on the main server and hangout server, he rationalized their existence by saying they were “inside jokes”. Inside joke or not, those stickers were still highly inappropriate to be using on a server with minors in it.

And regarding the most serious allegation (John grooming me when I was 13 by showing me censored NSFW). While admitting that he’s still in contact with John, he insisted that John didn’t show NSFW, and bases his arguments on assumptions of what staff would’ve done.

He seemed far more concerned about defending staff rather than actually investigating the issue.

When I asked to speak with more staff to hear their perspectives, he avoids directly answering the question. Instead, he tries to keep the convo centered on himself.

When I asked once again to speak with other staff, he lied about staff not being online, and insisted I should just talk with him. It wasn’t until I presented him with a screenshot Enayy sent me that showed other staff were indeed online that he added me to a group chat.

Luan would invite me to a GC that included Chiv, Path, RyDawg, and EvilChameleon. We’ll discuss how each of them responded individually. First, we’ll talk about EvilChameleon. Surprisingly, he was quite cooperative, and did agree that a lot of stuff called out in the thread was inappropriate.

In general, Path did agree a lot with EC, and seemed primarily concerned with clarifying his involvement within the situation. He also revealed that he & RyDawg didn’t ask for mod in John’s server, and was just randomly given the role.

Update To The Loud House Wiki Situation: Part 2: Part 1: https://www.tumblr.com/alycaonpictus/821593883076100096/a-long-overdue-and-more-detailed-update-to-the?source=share Chiv did try rationalizing a few behaviors, and did come off as defensive at times (though not to the same degree as Luan, as he was more cooperative). He seemed largely concerned with clearing his own name, and whether he personally should be considered responsible.

If you’re wondering what Luan was doing, he was still as uncooperative and unhelpful as ever, defensively denying John’s wrongdoings and deflecting to minor issues.

Referring to a meme I posted making fun of Loud House proshippers:

Now, we’ll move on to RyDawg. He acknowledged that his memory of the situation was poor, and was willing to accept my explanation instead of strongly denying it.

Regarding Leni’s servers and the inappropriate emojis, they did say they removed them. AFAIK the Lori Sexy sticker was indeed removed, but I can’t confirm or deny anything else.

The end of the gc transitioned into staff primarily being concerned about if I was good with them or not.

You’d think that this would be the end of it, right?

Unfortunately not.

Luan and the other staff never reached out to any of the bureaucrats (admins can’t revoke a content moderator’s role), and John still remains a content moderator to this very day, with contributions as recent as June.

I confronted Luan about this, and he proceeded to defend John and downplay his actions (despite eventually acknowledging that John was behaving inappropriately), which included manipulating Flow’s statement about John asking about her bra.

Clearly, I wasn’t getting anywhere with Luan, so I went over to AnimationFan15 (one of the wiki’s bureaucrats, who had the power to demote and ban him).

This message would be deleted, probably by Luan.

I would try messaging him a second time, and it would also be deleted. Enayy would message him on Discord, but ultimately never got a response.

I did also try sending a message to Veen (the other bureaucrat who has issues of his own, but that’s not important right now), and if you guessed this message was also deleted, you’d be absolutely right.

Having no other choice, I went over to Luan to speak with him. But this time, he didn’t respond, and chose to give me the silent treatment.

It wasn’t until I put a link to the Twitter thread in an edit summary (which Luan wouldn’t be able to delete) that he finally responded. In this final message, he vigorously defends John, making him out to be a victim and claiming me and my friends are trying to make him look bad.

After this, he would block me from the wiki and unfriend me on Discord.

At the end of the day, I’m highly disappointed in how unprofessionally the wiki’s staff handled this ordeal. With how defensive Luan was of John, I have good reason to believe that he’s deliberately protecting him and is scared of reputational damage to the community. His story contradicted the testimonies of other staff, communication was incredibly inconsistent, and questions about staff decisions were often met with defenses of individual character.

If you can help raise awareness of this situation, that would be nothing short of fantastic. While I don't want any harm or harassment to be sent towards anyone mentioned in this post, I do want people to know what kind of people they are.
