What do the Gurus think of them anywho? Mean having to deal with Arthur all the time is one thing they know what he's like but it's quite another suddenly have Vivi or Lewis showing up more so when SOMEONE is more likely to come in and shout his name as loudly as possible before going to haul his ass out for dinner :x
(I’m gonna post this because it can be applied to not just Mob!AU, but OT3 and regular storyline as well).
So I think the shop has been around for… (let’s see, Arthur’s 22, so…) 15 years? And the majority of the people have been there for the entire time. Percy’s been there since the beginning, he was 18 when Lance hired him. And Tommy’s been there for a while too. Gordon was hired on maybe 5-8 years ago, when business started picking up. Vinny and Naomi were hired on around the same time about… 2 years ago, now. Cassandra and Kylie are new, been there less than a year.
Arthur came to live with Lance when he was… 15. But he’d been hanging around the shop constantly since he was 10, so Percy knows him really well, let Arthur follow him around and explained things when Lance was otherwise preoccupied. Tommy let him help, too, once he was hired.
Technically, Arthur couldn’t be employed by Lance until he turned 16, and even then it was part-time. When he turned 18, Lance added him full-time.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that Arthur’s been around since almost the beginning, so everyone there knows him really well. They’re used to his mannerisms and habits and his friends.
Vivi and Lewis have been hanging out there for years (I still headcanon the shop/Lance’s house their “base”), so everyone there knows them too. They’re not surprised when Lew or Vivi show up randomly and hang out, even if Arthur’s not there. Vivi and Kylie get along really well, and Lewis hits it off with Naomi straight away and bond over fashion and purple. Mystery actually takes to following Gordon around, despite the man not saying a word about it.
They’re used to hearing Lewis shouting for Arthur when he comes over, and quickly moving their workbenches out of the way as Vivi comes barreling through searching for Arthur.
Lance takes all this within stride. He’s not on the floor a lot nowadays. He was when the shop was new, but since it’s grown so big, he’s had to take a step back and handle the more office aspects of running a business. He mostly let’s Arthur and Percy handle the floor, and trusts his employees to get stuff done correctly and in a timely, professional manner. He’ll step in and help if they’re ever short handed, but he spends most of his time either in his office, in the front office, or helping Arthur out with something in The Workshop.
I like to think that Lance is an easy going guy and just wants everyone happy, and he generally likes Arthur’s friends, so he let’s them basically do whatever, within reason, of course. (Plus, he cares for Arthur like a son and just wants Arthur to be happy, so if it’s putting up with his friends/boyfriend/girlfriend (and the Deadbeats), then he’ll do it without a fuss-he’ll never fucking admit it, though).
