Favorite plants to grow!

After trying out my garden, there are a few plants that I noticed that they’re a little harder to grow, versus some plants that just grow wherever whenever. Some of my favorite plants include Summerset tomatoes, which have a leafy wrapper on the outside of each tomato that basically shades it until you’re ready to peel it off like a candy wrapper and pop it into your mouth. Another is Meyer lemon, which is one of the easier lemons to grow, however there are many posts that may hinder the growth on your tree so beware. My last favorite would be any kind of peppers such as jalapeños, or even bell peppers. The flowers that sprout when they are getting ready to grow are beautiful, you just need to hand pollinate for the best results. For spicy peppers, the earlier you take it off the spicier, while the later, the sweeter.

Partaking in gardening can also help you ground yourself in order to become a better, more productive person throughout your life. Having a garden means you have to upkeep it, so if anything that can be your foundation to making a routine, such as getting up every morning before the intense heat of mid day, and watering all your plants so they have enough energy to get through the rest of the day. This in turn can motivate you  to get out of bed earlier while also taking care of something other than yourself so you have a sense of responsibility. This also helps to work on understanding patience, and how you have to work for some things in order to see the benefits later on.

Be your bee’s keeper🐝

  Growing up, I always used to be afraid of getting stung by bees, and also knowing people who have had very severe bee sting reactions. Most people would say that they would rather not like to see bees. But unlike the pesky mosquito, the bees have a very very important job, and life wouldn’t look like it does today without them. Somethings you can do to promote pollinator growth is the plant flowers in your garden that need to get pollinated! Also putting out little baths of water with rocks in them, will encourage the bees to stay in your garden and take a break from pollinating all day.

How can gardening get you back in tune with Mother Nature? Once investing your time to Learning the skills to be able to garden, you’ll start to notice the little things such as the micro biome that you create in your own lawn by having certain plants, which then attracts certain insects. Those insects then create a food chain in the area, and manages other pests or weeds from growing out of control. Not only are you creating your own food, but you are also lowering your carbon footprint by harvesting right in your own backyard. Adding composting to the list of skills that you inadvertently gain by gardening is another added bonus, and helps you out in the long run.

Intro

Gardening go to’s Over quarantine, I’ve done much-needed research, as well as trial and error, so you don’t have to. Here are three tips and tricks that I recommend to get your garden started! First I recommend investing in a good pair of trimmers, and also clean them in between each use. Second, invest in a good pot, whether it be clay, or plastic, just get a good enough size to contain what you are growing. Lastly, definitely look into which plants species is good for your zone (picture of zone chart will be attached), plant those in your garden and water them adequately.
