An autumn market day in Ceret, Northern Catalonia.
Photo from the Ceret town council.
In the 1970s during the last years of Franco fascism, we went to see films in Ceret that were banned in Barcelona. I spent many weekends in Ceret which was a smaller village then. The people were lovely & the food was magnificent.

Tap (Catalan for "cap" or "cork", because of its shape) is a pastry typical from the town of Cadaqués (Comarques Gironines, Catalonia).
The taps are sweet spongy cakes coated in syrup, and are often eaten by dipping them in rum. They have been made in Cadaqués since the 18th century.
Photos: taps from funnatic, taps and view of Cadaqués Joan Diví for Food Costa Brava.
I loved Cadaques, I went often in the 1970s. I sat in the chair that Duchamp & Man Ray used to play chess. I ate my first sea urchin given to me by a local fisherman.
