deadpool 2 was brilliant. but as much as i loved all the jokes and sweet moments and cynical shit-talking my favourite line is the one after colossus slams deadpool onto the ground in the first act

“that kid was abused. you can tell, you can always tell!”

because the thing about wade is that he was absolutely planning on just fucking around to show colossus that he wasn’t x-men material and having some fun, maybe cross something off his bucket list, but as soon as he twigged that russell was being abused, he made a decision to take messy, messy justice into his own hands.

and colossus didn’t understand why.

wade assumes that everyone can recognise the signs because he grew up with them. he grew up surrounded by shitty people who hurt him and he is on the lookout non-stop.

“you can always tell”

but colossus can’t. and he’s wrong! his rigid no-killing rule is not framed as the thing wade should be aspiring to at all. the movie doesn’t try to tell you that killing horrible, abusive people is wrong.

what it tries to tell you is that that action shouldn’t be left in the hands of a child.

John “TotalBiscuit” Bain Passes Away at 33

John Bain, known by his online handle TotalBiscuit, has passed away today after a long battle with cancer. He was 33 years old. Bain was diagnosed with terminal bowel cancer in 2015. Due to this prognosis, he recently announced his retirement from game criticism on the CynicalBrit Reddit…

Okay but what if the senshi decides to take a photography class and discovers that they have to develop their own negatives and do their own prints.

And then on one of the first days when they’re learning how to load the film onto the reels.  Everybody is struggling to do it.

EXCEPT USAGI.  USAGI HAS THAT SHIT DOWN.

And all the girls are like, “How the fuck do you know how to do that already.”

And Usagi is looking really nervous, and is like “My dad showed me how to do it a long time ago.”

Like I just got an imagine of tiny little Usagi being emarmored as Kenji explains to her how the whole method works–like unlike school or anything else, she gets strangely enthused by everything he shows her and wants to do it, wants to show him that “Papa, look! I did it” 

and Kenji beaming with pride every time she gets it right (and even when she gets it wrong and cries, because she’s learning and the fact that she wants to makes his heart pop right out of his chest)

Canonically, Usagi isn’t actually that bad of an artist in the anime (look at her drawings of the silmil in the one doom tree episode that she did to jog mamoru’s memories)

I could totally see Usagi getting into the visual arts after Stars, but still really kind of insecure about it at first and not wanting to show people.
