the way ppl talk obsessively and tbh more than a bit cruelly tbh about kylie jenner and her face and her surgery and her "RUINING" (?!?!?!??) a "generation of young girls" (!?!?!?!) only really makes sense once u realize it isnt even really *about* kylie jenner so much as she's being used as like an emblem of ppls hangups with beauty standards/buccal fat removal/all this "anti aging" "preventative botox' stuff etc and their harms 😭 and ppl are projecting/sublimating their, obvi valid complaints when it comes to beauty standards, into bashing kylie jenner.

Kind of like how angelina jolie (or insert other Other Woman here, like ariana grande/monica lewinsky/kristen stewart/ingrid bergman etc) hate was never so much *actually* about her, but more to do with ppl relating to jen aniston and acting out their real life anger at you know, whatever girl they think stole their boyfriend. And isnt she dating timmy chalamet... i mean...

Also ps why do ppl online feel so comfortable always talking about xyz "RUINING girls", whether it's like abuse or beauty standards or surgery or whatever 😭😭😭 Its genuinely really really incredibly creepy... like its really weird that they view other people as Damaged Goods guys

you would think that literally anything in the news, these past weeks, like the people protesting idf soldiers rights to rape prisoners, or even since october, would be like a turning point or crossroads or watershed moment for people, i dont know. Is it just going to be that things like this will continue and get worse, until they stop, everyone pretends they were always against it and go "how could something like that happen", like people always do with atrocities like that, like they do to victims of imperialism all over the world too

like i don't nescessarily want to use pop culture/movies as reference points but i am reminded of birth of a nation and green inferno (or rather the racism of them) a lot since last october, especially green inferno, like idk how other to describe the mindset a lot of people now other than saying they have like, a green inferno fantasy about well meaning activists/ppl they disagree with/people who oppose zionism and ethnic cleansing and apartheid being fucked over by (racist caricatures of) the people the people theyre trying to help. (See also the fact that ppl have seemingly moved from repeating "youd get raped and thrown off a roof by hamas" to saying that but with "i hope" instead now)
