You may have to operate in a contaminated area, so you need to know how to don the CBRN gear quickly, how to work in it, how to shoot or operate a vehicle or whatever else you're going to need to do, and then how to get back out of it without exposing yourself to whatever nasty stuff the gear has been protecting you from.

The way Tumblr works, it phrases this as "lederrudi asked" - but I don't know if it's a question, a comment, a statement, a proposition, or what, exactly. Not that it hugely matters - I'm always game for thoughtful input! And almost any which way, though, the answer is yes, or I like it, or Oh yeah, I'd happily do that. Complete enclosure in CBRN gear, most especially including a gas mask, very likely for many hours, perhaps a day or more. I'll note that I'm not sure if that particular mask has a drinking tube/hydration capability - if not, that's definitely a limiting factor. But add in the possibility of being with a group of men similarly geared, undergoing the same training (or recreational wear of the gear, for us somewhat "different" types!), and yes, my interest increases. I often work in completely enclosed gear upon which my life completely depends - it's just I'm 20 meters or more under water - so yeah, let's suit up!

I'm not a gimp, but I'm more than willing to take that role in an interesting scenario - and yeah, this looks like it could be just such! I'm imagining one-piece head to toe leather suits, laced at the back, such that a man in the suit isn't getting out without assistance. I'm not seeing any holes in the facial area for air exchange, so these participants are wrestling/grappling while rebreathing hot sweaty leather-scented air. Yeah, that could be fun!

I'm pretty sure this is a genAI picture, but I'm reblogging because it reminds me of how some suit hoods "back in the day" were trim-to-fit. The hood was made with a very small opening that you'd bit by bit enlarge. Put the hood on, see how much you needed to trim, take it off, trim, and repeat. I don't think I've seen one of those in quite a while.

One of the little rituals at GearCamp is to get the first-time gas mask/CBRN/MOPP attendees to take a shower in full gear. He'll get the shampoo and soap going after he's nice and wet. Nice and wet with water on the outside, nice and wet with sweat on the inside.
