Spent the last 12 weeks building a portfolio book for Portfolio Dev 1 class. Classes this term and graduation depended on passing. Thankfully, I did pass (all three classes, actually). But now comes the final term. With no break between terms. Just 12 weeks following the last 12. Here's hoping I survive! (Also, many thanks to the talented @lazer_beamz for permission to use some of her @fiveironfrenzy in my magazine!)

#BoysWithBraids Today I had the most comments in the space of minutes about Nate looking like a girl. It was only two comments, which seems a lot for us though many others get more comments. But it was still two comments. Both Nate and his dad often wear their hair in braids. They pray while it's braided. They are (usually) proud of their braids. It is one small measure of resistance against the forces of assimilation. One small way of saying to the world, "I defy your so-called norms". One small act of reclamation.
