IMAGINARY ILLNESS , WANDERER’S ACHE

you need to leave, you can't stay. you've forgotten how to do it - how to set your roots, how to unpack the moving boxes. staying too long isn't an option, the steady thrum of mixed curiosity and dread always propelling you forward. you've burnt all your bridges, leaving a trail of shattered connections every time you leave. but still you can't stay, can't even sit still. you tire of life as it happens, wishing you could quit your job and just become something else - anything at all. you've forgotten how to make a place into a home, feeling content only in novelty, at home only on the road.

anyway nudity isn’t inherently sexual & what i’m saying is if for some reason u want to try to get him going , stripping won’t work ( even if you try to give a show while stripping , he’ll be a little ????? confused ) , because he just thinks of it as “huh , the human form is a thing” & maybe he’ll also strip ... just to see if his body actually does still look like a human being’s . considering his can show signs of wear & tear in the ... ‘ pride’s body was breaking apart ’ , he’ll take it as an opportunity to assess his own body . 

for reference , yes , his vessel is in fact based on hohenheim’s , while the deity’s vessel is younger & he eventually did something different with his hair , it’s still “the body hohenheim had at that age” . as in yes , he has all the anatomy . which is where i guess i’ll give you guys the spice

congrats , if you see him naked , you now know what hohenheim at like 20something looked like , too . as mentioned in another post , he says his body is ‘ traditionally handsome ’ , as in he has a strong build without being bulky , he’s masculine without sacrificing elegance . there’s no one who would call his looks ‘ feminine ’ & ‘ handsome ’ always comes before ‘ beautiful ’ , but he certainly has the youthful charm ( for hohenheim , that eventually turned into an endearing ruggedness , but the deity’s vessel doesn’t age ) . 

anyway on that note , he’s 7″ hard & pretty goddamn girthy . 

he hasn’t actually had any partners before , because it takes the right person & also that really isn’t his priority . although , he has masturbated because he’s naturally inclined to explore his vessel . prior to having a vessel , it’s not like he got to watch anything , if he wasn’t being carried around by hohenheim , he was stuck on some workshop table in a stuffy lab . so he did need to learn at least about human bodies on his own .

PROS:

— he’s ‘ traditionally handsome ’ . at least , his vessel is . standing at about 6′ , he presents as a young man in his twenties with warm , tawny skin & gold hair & eyes . he has a strong but elegant build , most comparable to a danseur . 

— he’s very interested in knowing his partner ! as a deity from the gate , his domain itself is ‘ knowledge ’ . but , as a young god , he needs to reacquaint himself with the all that his former self contained . surpassing this , he will learn about his partner , who is new to him & an unknown to the former self . so , he won’t ever not want to hear about your life :) 

— he likes giving gifts . his displays of caring are often by action as well . so , you will want for nothing ! 

— the relationship will never be one sided . he’s all about equivalent exchange . so , don’t ever worry about whether or not you’re doing this for no reason , because he will always give back ! 

— he will be adventurous . in life in general or in the bedroom , it’s part of his domain , ‘ knowledge ’ . he will try everything at least once , but he will also listen to what his partner likes & doesn’t like , which loops back to wanting to know his partner . 

— your autonomy is very important ! hell , this is the god who freed a guy from slavery because he thought slavery was wrong since it left people with no choices or individuality . so , he will always encourage self expression . every person is unique & that is a wonderful thing . 

— he’s really intelligent . that’s a given from his domain alone , but he also loves deep discussion about basically anything . 

CONS:

— his true form is pretty goddamn eldritch , & he’s very , very vain about his vessel . he’s not so pretty if you crack open the vessel & he’ll get really mad if you do wreck it . this is a being who used five hundred thousand corpses just to make himself a ‘ handsome & strong body ’ . so uhhhh yeah 

— his entire ability to comprehend love is stunted . the deities of the gate are just pretty goddamn awful in general . the fact he has the capacity to care at all is actually fairly unique among the deities . if truth is any example , the gate gods are cruel & sadistic , delighting in irony & the suffering of mortal beings .  

— he’s got his own agenda . as in , caring about someone won’t stop him from doing what he wants to do . you will die . he will in fact kill you . 

— he’s really sorta hung up on van hohenheim . the human who he was so fond of , who never called him by the name he gave himself . he’s hurt deeply & doesn’t know how to cope . he may not realize that he could form that sort of bond with another person . 

CLARIFICATIONS:

— love doesn’t fix things . first , that’s not even how love works in normal relationships — love is not something that is a fix-it , love is about the good & the bad , about supporting but also advising . when your loved one does wrong , you support their GROWTH & not support the poor decisions . as in , love does not make problems go away , it also does not change people fundamentally . second , the deity , just as his other brethren , doesn’t ... understand . knowing & functioning on a human level are two very different things . he isn’t going to not try to yeet amestris just because he fancies someone . he wouldn’t even stop for hohenheim at this point . 

— just because he wants to yeet things doesn’t mean he’ll be cruel about it . in fact , he may give a loved one longevity ( either through a philosopher’s stone or deity power ) so that he can have more time with them or something . & he will make sure that the death will be painless & without suffering . he also will make sure that the soul isn’t in the whole writhing hell-mass , he has a special place for someone he cares for like that . & he will always be able to communicate , even if his partner no longer has their own body 

— really though , everything is fun & games until a god and a mortal fall for each other . then things start to suck ass & it’s a big tragedy . things are going to be tragic

beyond the gate , he watches , timeless , the tragedy that unfolds . he finds himself mourning a rotting body ; the death of something beautiful . he sees another gate open , his kin reach out . this hohenheim of light passes through the gate thinking of the face of a woman & two small boys . how shocking it is that the gods do not tear him apart , but instead gently usher him to another life in another tragic place . they are as fascinated with this man as the young god is with his own . the other gods , too , loved this man — or at the very least , loved his agony . such a powerful emotion , wasn’t it . & that man had lost so much , done so much . the young god plays the memory again , & this time , his are some of the little hands that grasp at golden hair & the worn fabric of that coat & the oh-so-human flesh . timelessly , he follows .
