Camila wasn’t always so negative. In fact, when she was a little girl she had an amazing life. Growing up in rural Italy, Camila spent her days at the beach or playing in the mountains her home was nestled in. She wasn’t corrupted by the outside world, and lived a very simple life. Even though Camila’s parents were fame hungry, and her mother was a gold digger, marrying a very rich banker after her time as a model ended, their greed and ruthlessness didn’t rub off on the red head as she was brought up by countless nannies. Along with her elder brother, Frankie, and her younger brother, Ronan, the Rodes children were brought up by the ‘help’. They rarely saw their parents, who were often in Rome or out of the country on business. Camila didn’t particularly mind until she reached the age of about seven. She saw all her friends parents dropping their kids off at school, hugging them goodbye. It made her long for parents who actually cared about their children instead of ones that just wanted to exploit them to make a profit.
When Camila was nine, her younger brother passed away after a three year battle with cancer. Her parents, who had been absent for a large amount of the time he was suffering, decided it was time to move from Abruzzo. The only thing that had been tying them down was Ronan. The family uprooted and moved to Rome. It was there that Camila was reunited with a girl, Alessia, who she had been best friends with in nursery. The pair instantly clicked and were once again inseparable. However, once high school started so did the bullying. In middle school, the popular kids had left Alessia and Camila alone except for the occasional shove in the hallways or glare in the cafeteria, nothing which bothered either of the girls very much. In their freshman year, the pair were the main targets of the school bullies. In sophomore year, they started to ignore Camila, deciding the red head was too feisty. Instead, they constantly bullied Alessia. By the end of sophomore year, Gabriella was attending her best friends funeral. Loosing Alessia to suicide completely broke Camila, and she’s never really gotten over the loss of her closet friend. After Alessia died, Camila’s parents forced her to move out to California to pursue their dream of their daughter becoming famous. She was scouted by a director a month after arriving, and was starring in her first feature film five months later.
Now, Camila never talks about her past and tries not to think about it either. Generally, Camila tolerates everyone unless they purposely try to annoy her. She’s short tempered and very blunt with people, though she never bullies anybody. Camila’s quite sarcastic and argumentative, though she has a sweet side for the people she cares about.
