do you think fat people are more limited in their range of interests? are you so poisoned by society that you think fat people can't be everything thin people can be? it works for every type of character bc fat people exist in the exact same range of needs and wants and abilities they're just underrepresented in all of them.

if you cannot picture a fat protagonist doing all the exact same shit a skinny protagonist does and more, you need to evaluate your fatphobia and unpack why. maybe consider breaking out of the mold media has set for you because you're your own person and capable of creating more than generic skinny protag #4.

okay people seem to be misunderstanding this a little bit- you SHOULD make gaining weight a sign of healing by all means but i don't mean "have your characters gain weight later"

i mean take one of your favs right now and make them fat and say they were actually fat the whole time in their story. because fat people can and do perform all the same feats skinny people do. fat people deserve to be perceived as the fuckable badass protagonist or the fun villain or the femme fatale or the tortured brooding hero

literally any character type you like - effeminate men? terrifying girlbosses? weaselly little nerds? himbos? - can also be fat. you assuming they MUST be skinny is a you problem and rooted in your perception of what the defaults are. the default isn't skinny white boy - you just think it is.

anyway if you've reblogged this you're obligated to take one of your favs and make them fat right now. don't change anything about their story just make them fat. they were fat the whole time, they were fat when they started the story and they were fat when they nearly died and they were fat when they got their love interest's attention and they were fat when they did incredible things. and they're fat when it ends.

Almost. Years ago my computer suddenly stopped working and lost everything on it. Fortunately a relatively recent backup still existed bc of my family, a recent parts switch, and dumb luck. But last year a friend of mine got hacked and lost close to everything he had done creatively in the last 17-ish years. Art. Novels in progress. Entire conlangs. DnD character Sheets. Music he had made. All gone. He never backed any of it up. Few months later I started this habit (or ritual, almost) of drawing a reminder beast any time I would make a full complete backup. In hopes that seeing these things might remind others and myself. (Another factor here is that I am an animator and some of the stuff on my computer took literal years to make. And the film university I go to urges us to take this stuff seriously, too.)
