Plots? RPs? Yes?
âWell, yeah. But Iâve been wanting to make a little addition to the deck for a while anyway, no need to give you âthe faceâ. By the way, what is âthe faceâ? I donât have a âfaceâ.â He smiled, putting an arm around her shoulder as they examined the situation. âItâs doable. Did you really want to do it, âcause it can probably be done by weeks end.â
"Yyyess." The emphasis in her voice as if it was obvious. She curled into him and give him a kiss.
"To both. I want buns and greenery. And you most certainly have 'a face' that you give me when you think I'm being unreasonable. Like this." It wasn't quite the face, but it was a silly face.
ââŠYou know what? Thatâs actually a very good idea. Thereâs a deck branching off the bedroom, we could just put glass over it and have a Sun Room there.â
"You seem a bit too easy going about this idea. Normally, you give me 'the face' and ask if I'm sure." Meggan laughed. Maybe Jac was right, the two of them were "nesting." Comparing the rabbit ownership to a pregnancy of her own, nesting with rabbits seemed a less stressful choice.

Elsa more than gladly accepted the creamer dish, and listened to the other womanâs explanation, a small smile on her face the whole way through.
âIn that case, I just might stick around for a bit longer, yeah?â she laughed. âThatâs really sweet thoughâmonster hunters arenât uncommon. Iâm honored, really.
Everybody knows the Braddocks âround Britain. To work for âem in a capacity like this, itâs something bloody special, darlinâ. So, thanks for the opportunity.â
"Thank Your Majesty for allowing the project to go forward. We were founded in part on a royal grant. What's a few pence on the pound to look good to the mutant demographic, right?" While Meggan was very patriotic, she grew up around people who had no real loyalty to government or the crown. She knew the Royal Family had a key role in their culture, but she didn't believe them to be gods amongst people.
"I think it helps other students to have you here. Many of them have family's who aren't tolerant. You're the example that family should embrace one another no matter where their lives take them."
âBrian. Look at âem! Could we buy some for the estate? I havenât seen any.â
ââŠâŠI donât see why not! I mean, look at âem! Thereâs plenty of room for them to run around in the yard and inside.â
"Inside? OHMYGAWD, I want a sun room built off our bedroom with plants and bunnies."Â

âEither or, in my experience. Still bloody terrible, ainât it?â she grinned, thanking the kitchen staff as they left. âAh, I see. Still, you might want to try it come summer break. Little trip here or there couldnât hurt you.â
Elsa took a seat, helping herself to the finger foods almost immediately. âTravel is somethinâ Iâm used to, not so much a like or a dislike. If thereâs a monster somewhere, Iâm travelinâ somewhere to kill it. Was like that for a while, âtill I took the job here.â She laughed, âStill donât know what possessed you two to ask me to teach. Couldnât be just âcause Iâm British, yeah?â
"We couldn't bloody-well lose the Bloodstones to the Cousins." Meggan offered the creamer dish to Elsa.
"Brian would go on about patriotism and British preparation, but I think you're prefect for the Academy. You might not get the chance for the experience of a private school teacher from Eton College." She giggled.
"But you've lived and survived under strange circumstance. That kind of experience is needed here, most of all. You're the expert we can't find anywhere else."
"Brian. Look at 'em! Could we buy some for the estate? I haven't seen any."
I re-read some of my old Excalibur comics today. I really love the team, and drawing them is way too much fun.
Of course, Iâm not great at beefy dudes, but I like that everyone has different body types and facial features!
(I totally forgot Colossus not on purpose, I swear!)
Brian has had several agreements with the ministry to keep these things a secret for good reason. Not that he didnât mind people being interested in the school or anything like that. Itâs just like Meggan had proposed, though, things should stay a secret sometimes. And no matter how many people were spying on the Braddocks (Elizabeth included) Brian knew they would be able to bounce back from it.
Being Captain Britain was a physically and emotionally taxing job that required such strenuous physical exercise and precision that he often had to justâŠnot be around. That killed him on the inside. But being in Megganâs presence reminded him of why he did what he did. His powers were built on his own self confidence, without it he wouldnât be Captain Britain. And with Meggan, he has the confidence to face each threat and enemy he knows he has to as a superhero. Meggan is his inspiration and his heart, his reason for doing what he does. Without her, there would be no power. No Brian Braddock. So whenever he gets the chance, he always hops on it. Locking the doors, turning down the lights, and justâŠspending some time with his wife for once in a bloody while.Â
Looking down to see the soft tint of blush on her cheeks, Brian couldnât help but smile and gently kiss it to calm her down. âWithout you, I probably wouldnât have my powers now. I know you work hard for your own equilibrium as well.â
He couldnât help but keep smiling, what was there to be down about now? He and Meggan were together, and nobody would bother them.
Several people told him that he looked like Daniel Craig, that they wanted to push for Brian to be James Bond on top of being the British icon he already is. The jawline just came with the territory, apparently.Â
âI suppose it is time, isnt it. I wouldnât mind one every now and again, but I would like your help to make sure it doesnât get out of hand again. Maybe slap me or something if I start getting too gracious with the stuff.â He chuckled a little and nodded, leaning down to grab his own bowl. âShall we?â Making their way up to their room, Brian thought a little while about his past dalliances with alcohol. In his life (at least in his life now) he felt no need to touch the bottle anymore, even for recreation. With Meggan in his lifeâŠhe was happy. While still at the call of every yahoo in the UK with a supernatural problem, though. But happy nonetheless.Â
âYouâre more than welcome.â He had taken the precaution of bringing napkins along so they wouldnât spill any sauce on the sheets, but that was it aside from the utensils. Being the gentleman that he is, Brian carefully opened the door for his wife before closing it behind the two of them. Their room wasnât by any means spectacular, nor wasnât anything shabby to look at either. It was slightly Victorian in style, carrying the elderly essence of the old British monarchy somewhere in itâs design with the queen sized bed and shelves filled with books.Â
âThatâs not what I think at all, trust me.â Brian pulled back the covers and slid himself in, carefully beginning to nip at his pasta as she presented her point of view. Brian didnât necessarily trust this younger version of himself for a few reasons, the main one being that heâs having a bloody affair but continues to act as if itâs completely normal. Maybe some structure or more freedom would be good for the kidâer, him. Whichever it was. âI can stay here and help him all he needs until heâs ready to work on his own, I have no problem with that. Itâs his personal issues that I have a grievance with.â She knows which ones.
Meggan climbed into bed with her husband, trying not to lose his words in her inner excitement. Her legs brushed against his as she got comfortable.
She cherished these small moments. Moments that reminded her of their earliest days together. Brian had returned from university in New York shortly before finding his future wife. Betsy was popping in and out with magazines and dresses to show off. Meggan idolized her fame and charisma. Even after Megg took her most familiar form and caught quite a bit of attention. Life, from one day to the next, seemed simple to imagine. Then Brian delved deeper into crime fighting than engineering, and Betsy went through drastic metamorphosis.
The mansion had seen changes, but this room remained the same. The bed had been the biggest she'd ever known- growing up in a caravan. Her childhood seemed like another lifetime. Memories without Brian were beginning to fade more than ever. She'd know him all her numerically adult life, but she only recently felt up to the responsibility of the word.
"I know. I know." Meggan muttered agreeing with her husband's frustration. Her mind moved to thoughts of the younger Brian from another dimension. She took a bite of pasta and thought about the two very different men. She felt equally puzzled on how to approach the younger; as a motherly figure, as a friend, or strictly as an instructor.
"But he isn't married, Brian. And he isn't you- exactly." Her face turned to kiss his cheek softly. If the telly taught her anything, it was how much dating had changed in terms of openness since she was a child.
"He might learn like you, though. The hardest lessons are so painfully given, Merlyn said. Maybe Nara should find out and let the girls sort him." That sounded like a decent plan to mull over. A bit of relationship hi-jacking as far as Meggan was concerned, but it may be the right idea. She pondered over it, and let Brian think about it, as she ate more pasta.
