She smiled as he called his pack her pack, but she didnât quite believe it; fear that he would tire of her or send her away. Instead she just continued to nuzzle against him, listening to his words until an eyebrow. âYou have a right to me? The only one hmm?â her lips replaced her nose on his cheek, and effort to calm the brewing storm further lips working along his  jaw until the last sentence and she pulled back a little, as much as his hold would allow. âAn obligation? Thatâs how you see me?â Hurt flashed through her and she frowned a little honey eyes unable to rise to meet his. Obligations always came to an end eventually  and she looked back around the bar, no one was paying them any mind,  but she shifted in his grip. She should ask to get back to work, allowing herself to be too wrapped up in her Alpha was always a dangerous prospect - at least for her - but she didnât dare pull out of embrace.
âA tap lasts mere seconds. Itâs not like this, like us and if the club gets more money, surely thatâs a good thing for the pack?â She offered sweetly. They donât pay enough, true. Her head rested against his chest as  he used his hands to demonstrate what exactly belonged to him and she nodded insti his  cest, nitnsure she trusted her voice at that moment not to come out as a moan. She was his, even if she liked to test how thin his patience could wear in a single day, there was no one she would rather be with. âDo I? Iâm not so sure.â She teased and the grin on his lips was enough to draw a smirk on her hers which disappeared in a second to a sweet smile. Her shoulders moving in a small shrug. âMaybe work has me excited?â She teased playfully, âMaybe I like all eyes on me? You fetch me because you want too. Donât pretend.â She grinned.
Gavin had never hurt for self-confidence but when it came to Amelia it was completely earned. He did feel a sense of entitlement and possessiveness towards her. That wasnât by virtue of his status as alpha or even because of their shared history and the guilt he felt in all the circumstances that had brought her here. It was because of how she made him feel, the things she mamde him want and the overriding sense of completion he experienced just for having her in his arms. Where she belonged. âThe only one,â he insisted obstinately, leaning in to kiss her smirking mouth and not caring if anyone saw them. âBut no obligation. A sense of duty and one that is the easiest for me to do whatever is necessary to protect.â The iron bands of his arms around her flexed instinctively.
âNo amount of money is worth putting you at risk, Amy. Not again. I did that once and I will always regret it.â  For a moment he couldnât look at her, the pain and self-punishment he put himself through forcing even this proud alphaâs gaze towards the floor though his forehead remained resting against the needling brunetteâs. âI canât take pride in how you came to be mine, but I do in the fact that you are. If that makes any sense. Probably doesnât. I usually donât when you get me in a twist, Amelia.â
