things i learnt from the update
ngozi owns my entire ass
robbie has definitely listened to tony rant all throughout a trip to the mall, while the other got his eyebrows threaded and through their lunch all for tony so make a noise of pain and robbie to just give him a smile and it was almost like the air was clear again
you can rip the headcanon that Kelly baked those cupcakes for Maggie from my dead cold hands and I'd still haunt you about it

Hey friends! Quick update.
First of all, I want to say thank you as always for the support you guys show me. I haven’t responded to every message yet, but I read them when I can, and I appreciate all the love you’re showing Maggie and the boys. I’ve said it before but they’ve been in my head for so long, it’s really fun for me to see them all embraced and picked apart and headcanon’d by you all. :)
I know this next update is taking a while. It feels like a cop-out to say, but life has been busy. I accepted a promotion at my job, my work load’s increased slightly, and I’m trying to get myself back on a normal sleeping schedule (so like not drawing til 3am). I want to give you guys the best comic I can, the comic as I picture it and how I know it can be, so that may delay my updates more than I wanted. Let’s say this: I will be as transparent with you as I can be about my pub dates as I’m able to complete them. Long story, I tried burning the candle all the way down and wound up walking around in a fever haze.
Lastly, I know that some of you had been interested in learning a little more about the individual Knights, and about the (fictional) USHL Atlantic Conference – I hear you! I’m doing my best to time-manage, but I love the idea of you getting to know the kids better, especially. I’ll see what I can whip up.
Thanks for sticking with me, I will do my best to make the comic worth it!

Fictional hockey masterlist
Since so many hockey players have proven to be douchebags in the last 48 hours, I decided to make a list of resources for people who, like me, love the sport and use it for escapism, but who currently can’t go the the real sport for that.
This list consists exclusively of fictional hockey worlds, more often than not better than ours:
Comics
Check, please!: It follows Eric Bittle, baker and former figure skater form Georgia, during his time playing hockey in Samwell University. You can start the comic here or read the whole blog (with extras) here (some extras do include mentions of real hockey players).
Blueliners: It’s about Maggie, a teenage girl (and a woc to that!) who plays hockey in a boy’s team. It just started a few months ago, but it’s great already. Start here.
Always Raining Here: Not about hockey, but hockey happens in the background a few times and it’s in Canada so it has cute stuff like Tim Hortons. I put it here just in case somebody is interested, but be aware it’s not about hockey. Start here.
Books
You Could Make a Life ‘verse: A series of stories (hosted on ao3, and one published) about LGTB+ hockey players in a universe where neither Trump nor Bettman exist. Here’s a link to the ao3 page. I recommend starting with this or buying the book, but take a look at all the series to see what you like (and feel free to ask about them if you have any question!)
Off-Campus: I have been recced this book as “VERY GOOD” and “ABOUT HOCKEY, YOU’LL LOVE IT”. To be honest, it looks kinda… not my thing? So I haven’t read it yet. But hey, it may be yours. Take a look at it here.
Movies
(links go to a torrent download page)
The Cutting Edge: Romcom about about a hockey player and a figure skater who have to compete together at the Olympics. As cheesy as most things from the 90s are.
Score! A Hockey musical: Probably the weirdest thing I’ve ever watched, but you’ll probably laugh. It’s a musical about a boy who has never played hockey but has the skills. Some real hockey players are mentioned.
Goon: A comedy about an enforcer. Funny and surprisignly sweet (I love this film).
The Mighty Ducks: This is just a classic. It’s the story of a peewee hockey team and their coach. It’s Disney in the 90s, so you probably can guess everything that’s going to happen from that line, but the first film (there are three) is fun.
Breakfast with Scot: A retired gay hockey player and his partner become legal guardians of a kid. I watched this a while ago, but I remember enjoying it a lot.
That’s all from me. Please stay safe and enjoy (and feel free to add anything, I’d love to have new stuff to get me through this).

The first thing Dex notices about Nursey is that he’s disgustingly gorgeous. The second is his tattoo.
The first thing Nursey notices, apparently, is that Dex has noticed. He hikes up his sleeve to give Dex a better look. “You like it?”
“Yeah,” Dex says, “it’s nice,” and it is, but that’s not why he’s looking. He’s heard of guys doing ink to embellish their soulmark, and, well, he has to wonder. Because Nursey is the best-looking guy Dex has ever seen, and because Dex’s soulmark lives in a similar place – high up on his own arm, wedged underneath so it can’t be seen unless Dex lifts his arm above his head. His heart thuds dully as he stares at Nursey’s ink and wonders if this could be it.
Then Nursey opens his mouth and breaks Dex’s heart.

i’ll read and love blueliners regardless but best believe the second maggie is in a frame with another girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like the second they make eye contact ill die
tbh, you should write more shit about tony and Robbie. S'good stuff right there
ahh, thank you! I’ll try my best to when we get more of Blueliners so I can have a better sense of the characters, dynamics, and etc. :)
i wrote this small thing during my class so i figured i’d post it cause why not

“I don’t think I’m going to be made captain.”
The words ringed through Robbie’s mind as he drove out of the parking lot. The walk from the locker rooms to his car had been quiet. Robbie knew something happened when he stormed off after the whatever with Maggie, but he hadn’t been quite sure where he’d end up going. It was easy to figure everything out now.
Robbie tried not letting the disappointment be evident in his face. He knew how much it had meant for Tony. All those countless hours on the phone talking about different tactics that could be used to get them to finals. Being made captain had been worth a lot, especially with all that was at stake.
So Robbie busied himself with getting the car running and out of the parking lot. Anything to avoid speaking to Tony just yet. He needed to know exactly what to say to make his best friend feel better.
Maybe he should talk to Coach Mac?
“They said it was going to be mine.” Tony spoke up again, but it was hardly above a mumble. A red light brought them to a halt. Robbie looked over at Tony, but he wasn’t looking at him. He never was. At least not in the way Robbie wanted to be, but that was neither here nor there. Tony had his face in his hands, blocking himself from the world.
Robbie reached over to stroke Tony’s hair, but found his hand hovering. With a small frown and quick shake of his head, Robbie brought it back down. Busying himself with sending a quick text to his mom.
ma, taking tony for dinner. bit down. dont wait up.
