@gaylittleancient
I like that they just kind of ran out of rule of cool with the Echo. We see visions of the past for exposition reasons and are immune to primal temepering. Krile can feel people's emotions on a superhuman level. Arenvald can...do something else with his echo. Alright out of ideas. What? Echo Super Soldiers from Stormblood? Nah, never bringing that shit back. No matter how interesting that may of been. You killed the head scientist for that shit remember? *2 minutes later* Alright so we're going to call your echo the Traveler's Ward now. Elaborate? pft, nah, go chase this bird girl around as she suffers a panic attack. We'll circle back to this...erm...never.
I have been endlessly fascinated by the dropped implications of what visions of the past Zenos was seeing on this topic, also how it functionally made him ascian-like
Hey guys if you stream to Twitch, they just added this feature. Its to train Gen AI to your streams. Its under Settings -> Privacy and Security tab and all the way at the bottom.
YES ITS ON BY DEFAULT.
Here's a visual for it:
Then Privacy and Security:
Then scroll alllllllllllllll the way down and you'll see this:
again YES ITS ON BY DEFAULT.
also be sure to double check that twitch actually keeps it off. I clicked off the tab and then when I went back it was on again.
Feedback was very heavily “make this opt in”, as shown here (for comparison “popular” suggestions might hit 1k votes), but that was ignored too
These things are never opt in because companies know if they were people wouldn’t turn them on and they’d not be able to justify pissing away some much money into these functions no one is asking for. By hoping that people are either indifferent enough or just straight up don’t know how to turn it off they can then say “look how many of our users use this function!”

If you could go back as you are now and comfort the little you that's still hurting, would you?

This artfight attack is on @st4rsmew !
With both of us having hrothgar characters, and a love for a certain cat boy, I had to do a little something. :3
thinking about shadowbringers and my tragic blondes (again)
HEY DON'T DO THIS!
Japanese Knotweed is highly invasive and can overtake native ecosystems so fast. It's a lot like kudzu in that way. Y'know, "the vine that ate the South"???
I know we all hate AI data centers and want them gone but this is not the fucking solution and should not be spread around even as a joke. Shit like this ruins already endangered native ecosystems.
Genuinely for the love of god do not do even consider doing this, all my fieldwork was "and also there is knotweed" in the site debriefs and the biosecurity steps you have to take to prevent spreading are really no joke. You can transport material it can propagate from on tires, clothing, boots etc very easily.
Knotweed often gets burned (with permits to do so, because you really need to know what you're doing to stop it spreading because it can propagate again from very little if it's moved off site as mentioned) but the rhizomes can survive burning because they grow to 3m~ deep and fully removing these is a nightmare in general. A lot of the time it gets buried which also needs a specialist involved so it can be buried properly and STAY buried for 50+ years so we can comfortably know it WILL die and won't breach containment. There's a bunch of crazy specific criteria required to meet for burial, it's not just digging a hole and throwing it in and it's a niche specialist task to properly manage for a reason
If you are concerned about AI data centers from an ecological or environmental perspective DO NOT fuck about with planting or relocating knotweed, it is incredibly disastrous for the environment (especially waterways) and native species diversity because it is INSANELY hardy (if the fact it can SURVIVE FIRE didn't imply this - they're adapted to survive lava flows) and very competitive. This doesn't just impact plant diversity which in itself is a problem, it will affect wildlife as well especially inverts. It's an offense to plant, sell or distribute F. japonica and the various similar species in many parts of the world BECAUSE it's so disastrous to the environment. If you see signs like this PLEASE ignore them or remove them if you're able, do not fight one ecological problem with another!
