Thinking about Buck getting a new tattoo but Eddie being confused when he sees it because it just looks like a small, random jagged line until Buck grins at him while reaching for his own keys and selecting the one they both know belongs to Eddie’s house, their house now and holds it against the jagged line inked on his skin to show a perfect match because it’s the first home he’s ever had that he’s felt unconditionally loved in, safe in, and wanted to stay in forever.
Genuinely don't think ABC would be able to resist the urge to do buddie canon. The level of attention it will bring to the show, it being one of the first (if not THE first) mainstream shows to have a queer ship go canon without immediately burying their gay(s) (even though canonically Eddie has been buried before and I don't doubt they'll do it again to either of them).
The number of articles that would be written, the talkshow appearances, the awards it could bring JUST DUE to the amount of attention...
Like genuinely I struggle to see them passing on this. Literally why not.
big fan of characters who have it all under control when theyre put in situations but no idea how to be like a regular guy doing regular stuff when all is said and done.
early seasons buck's flaw is that he's immature, bratty, impulsive, unreliable. and then he meets struggling single dad eddie diaz and he STEPS UP. he becomes a selfless caretaker, worlds most responsible man, he is in their home, he is cooking them dinner, he is picking chris up from school, he is looking after eddie after a breakdown, he is parenting chris while eddie's in the hospital, he is eddie's shoulder to lean on, he is chris's shoulder to lean on. THIS is what bobby was trying to teach him with abby in season 1, THIS is his big character growth over the seasons. he is. TRANSFORMED by love. into someone mature and responsible and steady. to love is to be changed!!!!!
it's actually truly hilarious to think about how eddie coming out first alone would have been crazy buddie canon confirmation. at least with buck there's some plausible deniability but like. eddie's the crazy one here. he's the one who did the will after vividly imagining buck and his son while dying underground. he's the one who yelled at buck in a grocery store. he's the one who took buck out on a poker date. he's the one who broke up with his girlfriend because buck told him to. if we were told that he's actually been attracted to men this whole time after doing all that. well. it would have been comically obvious

love to think about how eddie diaz is the best friend that buck tells all his love interests not to worry about. even though all they should do is worry about it. like. it’s so bad. their relationships are literally running on eddie diaz’s schedule
getting that august feeling (things that have ended endlessly are ending again)
buck not being overwhelmingly attracted to/in love with eddie to the point where he can no longer hide it or ignore it in s8 will be the BIGGEST inaccuracy of the show to date. forget medical inaccuracies, timeline inconsistencies, and maddie being one of the like 2 dispatchers that answer 911 calls for the entirety of LA. if buck isn’t embarrassingly down bad for that man, ill know this show doesn’t care for realism
