Listen, if it doesn’t make me happy then I really can’t go with it, you know? Don’t feel like it’ll have my one hundred percent that I like to give to everything else i love and it’ll just feel fake. Which I know that’s what this is as an actor, but still. That’s my thing, man! You guys were so fucking inclusive about his transition and that just made me respect and love the show even more.
It seems logical, but there’s a lot of people in this world who don’t know how to be happy. Like they’re uncomfortable in it and have to fuck it up. I definitely was one of those people back in the day, so I’m glad you’re putting your happiness before the bull shit. I don’t think acting is “faking”. It’s literally putting yourself into the mindset of someone else. I’ve done my music videos and stuff and I get it. I remember back when we were filming The Ghost Of You, my brother, Mikey, fake died and I asked myself how would i react if he was really gone and that ... well it made for a powerful music video. Being inclusive is always the goal. It’s why we didn’t cast the characters by how they looked. A lot of people were pissed off by that, but we got a good show out of it and look at it now.
