It seems logical, but there’s a lot of people in this world who don’t know how to be happy. Like they’re uncomfortable in it and have to fuck it up. I definitely was one of those people back in the day, so I’m glad you’re putting your happiness before the bull shit. I don’t think acting is “faking”. It’s literally putting yourself into the mindset of someone else. I’ve done my music videos and stuff and I get it. I remember back when we were filming The Ghost Of You, my brother, Mikey, fake died and I asked myself how would i react if he was really gone and that ... well it made for a powerful music video. Being inclusive is always the goal. It’s why we didn’t cast the characters by how they looked. A lot of people were pissed off by that, but we got a good show out of it and look at it now.

I can be but then again there are times where that exact thing happens. I hate to say that, because there are people I can remember over the years of us meeting, but meeting people on the daily makes it harder for me. I think we’ll be alright, they’re just overly excited and I am not going to complain because I am lucky. For the most part, I been giving things away left and right. There’s a lot of people who love to give me things during these meets and greets. I had to let them know like write me a letter. A letter would be worth more than anything you can give me. I just had to point it out to you.

I’m definitely more likely to remember a conversation rather than a name, but it’s gotta be something very like outstanding. Like if the person just said hi and asked me to sign something then I probably won’t remember, but if they told me their whole life story and they were like hey I told you this and this about me then I’d remember. Weird brain things. That’s true. I feel bad when people would give me gifts unless it was something cheap like my favorite candy or whatever. I love letters. I keep every single one that I get or well try to. Things get lost sometimes obviously. It’s nice to have them to look back on, so I totally get why you’d want letters more than gifts.

Course not. I just have a ton of it, honestly. You definitely did so if you see it happen in 30 years just know that was all you. I like the sort of realism in the nonreal, yeah. I guess. As in things that could be real, but aren’t quite proven yet. Aliens and the supernatural. I honestly couldn’t pick one book. I’m always reading so like I just have this endless list of books I’ve read and they’re all good in their own right, y’know?

Thinking back on teenaged years is always super disorienting in my opinion, but it’s also nice to see how far you’ve come, I guess. It’s been a good 30 years since I was a teen though. Holy shit. I’m glad you’re getting there though on finding yourself and hopefully realize that it’s always a work in progress since we’re constantly changed by our experiences. Course. Lyrics are usually the first things I pay attention to when I give a song a listen.

Well that just makes me blush. Nah, that makes total sense. I wish more people who had the kind of privilege we do thought that way. The world would be a lot better of a place. Yeah, exactly! I’ve been trying to think of a way to describe it and that’s a great way. I guess that’s what I’ve been doing a lot of lately. Me making a point to remember your name makes you blush? Well, I’ll take it, I guess. It’s funny how the world is both like a wonderful place but also an awful place all at once. You have these outstanding amazing selfless people and then you’ve got the greedy assholes. I guess it’s kind of like yin and yang. Dark and light. One cannot exist without the other or some shit. It’s nice to know that I’m on good the side though, even when I’ve felt like I was drowning in the darkness.

Oh, yeah. That makes perfect sense, actually. I’ve never been in a band or anything, so, I’ve kind of always been doing my own thing – but, the way you phrased it, I hear you. It really is. I know you mentioned you’re touring, are you thinking about releasing any music as a band again? Or are you getting a feel of how that goes first? Ha, is it? He’s a good friend, I reckon you two would get along.

I like to consider bands for the most part as like a beautiful sort of Frankenstein's monster, y’know? You’re with however many people in the band who are all different in their own way and you have to figure out how to translate that into one image and a few songs. When it’s just you, it’s a bit more personal. At least, that’s my opinion. I can’t speak for anyone else, obviously. We released a new song a little bit ago actually. Whether that’s going to lead to more music is something I can’t really speak too much about. I’d like to think that I’m a pretty easy guy to get along with. Especially these days. I’m a lot more chill. You’ll have to introduce me sometime. Maybe a unconventional friendship might bloom. Who knows?

Sweet! Hopefully you’ll enjoy the show as much as we enjoy playing it whenever that may be. It’s pretty cool to see generations of MCR fans just all together and having a good time. It really does blow my mind. Thanks. I’m pretty happy so far with how we’ve handled it. Making it into a show has really helped me figure out the characters that I created more than I already had and seeing them mold into who they are now has been very amazing. Totally would have never thought I’d be in the “Netflix People” like ... group, but you’re actually right. Strange.

Oh shit. Now I actually have to go into the memories that I stashed in the back of my mind to forget, because I wasn’t actually expecting a yes. Here’s one, I actually. This was way before we made it big. This girl, she was super drunk, like piss poor drunk. According to sources she was on me all night like once we played our set and shit and were just hanging at the bar or whatever. She told me she had to go home or something and I said “Okay, Bye”. Looking back now, I can see that her face was like ... perplexed. I remember she even repeated it and added how she’d be alone except for her cat and I told her to tell her cat I said hello and bye again and it just ... totally went over my fucking head.

You’re damn right! I love how the red spandex really defines my ass over how that swamp thing looks in general. Really? That’s awesome! I think there are a few things I could’ve done better or that I wish Disney would approve of, like his voices and the rivalry between Thanos and Deadpool of the fair maiden of Death. I wish I wasn’t as recognized sometimes, I have to resort to playing fart noises on my phone to get some coffee. I’ve looked the same for way too long, if I’m being honest. Wait, really?! Of course there’s always things we could have done better, because nothing is ever perfect, but you got as close as humanly possibly in my opinion. Fart noises on your phone? I’d fucking die. You have looked the same way for awhile. Do you ever age? Are you secretly a vampire or a lizard person? It’s called The Umbrella Academy. Hopefully you and whoever this special person is enjoy it. I used to feel that way with performances. I couldn’t watch videos of myself on stage, but now I don’t give any fucks. Every year, Ryan? I think your head is getting a bit big there. I mean there’s a lot of sexy men on this Earth. We have to acknowledge them all. I haven’t heard anyone mention Mike Meyers in fucking ages, man. What a throw back that would be.

I completely understand that, but I think once they get older they should experience more things the world has to offer. Just take her to all the restaurants and other touristy places. i feel that’s normal fear of any new parents that they won’t like you or you won’t be that great. it’s why it’s good to have someone else to raise your child with, makes things a lot easier and you to stress a lot less. it’s fine, i’m sure she loves her child and being a mom and as long as she keeps her in check, surely you’ll have a lovely young adult in time. oh, yeah, she’s getting smart. maybe for the future, start checking with lindsey first and make a joint decision with things she gets. aww, you’re too kind, gerard! exactly and i want harley to be apart of that! i couldn’t agree more, at least today the world is more accepting so our kids don’t struggle as hard as we did.

I don’t have much experience with normal, so it’s hard for me to decipher what is and isn’t, y’know? I’ve learned some lessons along the way. I’m just very lucky to have a compassionate, loving, and forgiving daughter. I make a point to apologize to her if I ever fuck up and we always keep an open dialogue, so I think that’s really great. I’ll be honest with you, Lindsey and I haven’t been seeing eye to eye a lot lately. It’s been ... extremely difficult on my end, but we are still doing the coparenting thing and doing what’s best for B and that’s really all that matters to me. I’d say I’m more honest than kind, but people do say that I’m kind often so maybe I am and just in denial. It feels like ... the world is more open and to an extent more accepting, but with that openness of hey we exist also comes that hate. Like how you wouldn’t know someone is like ... painfully scared of clowns unless you exposed them to clowns. You don’t know the phobia sometimes until the phobia is out in the open. I’ve had to cut off people for things like that.

Cali’s a nice place, I guess. We’ll be playing some shows there in October, but if you simply can’t wait that long, you can definitely take your pick of which one or ones you want to go to. I’ll just be spending it with my daughter mostly and some other personal shit that’s going on and then it’s back on the road. There’s a word for that, but I can’t think of it right now. English class has failed me, apparently. I’m just too logical for my own good sometimes.

Right? That’s so long ago ! At times I dont think it’s so long ago but it is! Like how was it that long ago I feel like it was 5 years ago sometimes. But my music had sure changed over the years. From what labels and people wanted me to sing and now what I wanted to do. Oh wow! thank you for that! That music was the start of what is my own for reals. Beast is one I do really love. 

It’s literally fucking crazy, man. Time as a concept just blows my mind sometimes. Good for you, man. Fuck what the labels think you should do. At the end of the day, you know you better than those fuckers and they’ll get what they get. Glad you’re sticking up for yourself. I really liked the concept of the song though. I felt that way once upon a time. Just know you’re worthy of love and you’re not a monster for having feelings.

Exactly, it’s crazy at times when I think about it. I think I’ll be able to remember who it was after the second show. Six? Not one or two but six times I’ll see this person. I’ll feel a little sketched out but I think I’ll be alright, thank you for caring. We should have thought about things like that. There was a limit for the meet and greets like when you’re in the website to buy it, but once you bought it, I’m sure you could go back again. We should have fixed that. I’m trying to fight my urges to keep on buying shit and being a minimalist, reduce my carbon print on the earth and shit but it’s hard. You’re doing it right now, Mr. Way.

I admittedly am not as good with names and faces as i would like so I have been in a few instances where someone is like do you remember me and I don’t and I feel awful when that happens. Hopefully your crew makes sure your safety comes first and that this person is just .. unimaginably supportive and not some creep. That sucks when people just ignore rules like that. But what can ya do, I guess without making an ass of yourself. I totally dig that. That’s definitely admirable. I’m a simple guy so I don’t have much shit myself. I guess I do the whole legendary normal guy thing like it’s breathing then, huh? You don’t realize you’re doing it until you think about it.
