OHH suddenly I remember about something I was wondering about the Pirate AU
Now I know in most mermaids stories, if humans catches them they usually want to either experiment on them or sell them off to circus.
BUT THINK ABOUT A WORLD that sea people and humans can actually- coexist??
Like sea people can actually help warn the humans if there are a tsunami coming and more??
And humans know they exist but don’t bother them! In fact those people that live by the sea can know a few mermaids and mermans that visits them like friends or something.
…But then I guess it really depends on the humans and the sea people themselves www
But I guess I’m just wondering….does humans know they (the sea people) exist in the AU-
Good point! Humans actually know that the Sea People exist. Their relationships depend on what kind of experiences they have with each other trough the history and what region they live in.
In some regions they peacefully coexist and help each other. They usually don't make differences between each other and just enjoy each other's company. These regions aren't under big influence of pirate gangs.
There are other places where they hate each other's guts and often start smaller wars because the differences and that they see each other as monsters. These regions had to suffer many years under the terror of terrible kings and horrible pirates.
And as for Sea creatures/monsters; they are of course on the side of Sea People in wars.
The AU takes place in a fantasy-like world where pirates are the rulers. If you want to join the AU send a message !

This world is made mostly of water, but there are many smaller or bigger islands. There is just one magical island where all dreams and wishes can come true; The Dessert Island. There are many rumors about it but no one knows where it is.
There are two types of pirates. To the first types belong the ones who search for the Dessert Island, while to the other type the pirates that don't really have any goals just have fun with messing up the world peace.
Besides pirates there are also:
Local, island people- They can be a simply fisherman, salesclerk or even someone as mighty as a king that own one or more island kingdom
The Marine - the sea police, they have strict rules. Their goal is to punish the rule-breaking pirates. They usually wear white or blue sailor uniforms.
Pirate Hunters- Since the Marine set bounties on the really troublesome pirates there are people who go to hunt them down in order to get some money or just to have fun.
Sea people- mermaids and all kind of sea creature x human hybrids. They live in underwater cities or small islands.
Sea monsters- Basically anything that isn't humanoid. Some people keep them as pets.
Please keep it in mind:
No godmodding
Once you joined the au with one category you can change it later (eg. you start as a fisherman then with time you decide to join a pirate gang or you are a pirate caption but then you become a king of an island ....)
You can have as many characters in the au as many you want
You can make pirate gangs, name islands and such
Simply humans don't have magical powers, just magical weapons
All new ideas are welcomed!
