My next generation for my legacy! Whichever one becomes the heir will be the Generation 5 (or 40 as this extended from my Ultimate Decades Challenge family) for the legacy. From left the right in the group photo: Pennyroyal, Perilla and Mojito.
My Gen 39 heir, Pellam, is a rising star and he's leaving his mark on every city he visits on his tour!
I'm currently going into year 2087 - I'll be done with the Ultimate Decades Challenge in 13 more years and Kennedy is pregnant with the final generation (generation 35!) now! The final heir will be taken into a new, non history based challenge with a clean save lol
In 2040, Elliot Godfrey and his twin brother Reid came into this world early - almost too early. They spent months in the hospital and in that time, their mother abandoned them, unable to handle it all. Their father, Noah Godfrey, was a well connected programmer - deep in the development of AI - and brought them up as a single father. The twin boys were always close, though they had very different personalities. Reid was a creative soul and found a love in food - with the help of his family name - he became a respected chef within an arcology not far from his family. Elliot was sad to see him move out but he was, unknown to him, about to start a family! One of his many teen crushes, Dorothy Scott, became a permanent fixture in the house when she announced her very unexpected pregnancy. With global fertility rates plummeting more each year, it truly felt like a miracle that they got pregnant so soon. Elliot immediately proposed and they married not long after Dorothy gave birth to a rambunctious little boy named Jasper. Note: Noah Godfrey (black and red hair) is my generation 32 heir and Elliot is my generation 33 heir. Most likely, Jasper will be generation 34 heir when he grows up more!
There's something strange in the neighborhood...
The rise of Mildred Godfrey - Hollywood Starlet (generation 28 heir) Born in 1914, Mildred found her passion at a young age while watching silent films with her father. She could see herself, even then, as a leading lady of the silver screen and she worked hard to achieve it. By the time she was old enough to begin auditioning - "talkies" were an exciting new thing and she landed her first role, a small part in a small production. Her career started to take off - though she was held back by one small love affair (with a married man) that led to one small human. With her family's support, she was able to avoid the scandal of being an unwed mother and she soon found herself in Hollywood in role after role. She had made it! In the early 1950s - her career hit a rather unfortunate wall when her name landed her under the scrutiny of the House Committee... as many in Hollywood were blacklisted, she took a silent retirement and stayed in the background for nearly a decade before trying to ease herself back in. With a bit of gray in her hair now and approaching her 50s, she couldn't get the young starlet roles anymore but she was still a beloved name and landed the matronly roles instead. She was back!

Finnigan Godfrey, Generation 22
As the oldest son in a family with seven children, Finnigan became the "man of the house" young. He was just eleven years old when his father left to fight in the American Revolution. Though still a child himself - he stepped up to help with his many younger brothers - though, admittedly, his sister (the eldest and only daughter) took on the majority of it. As the war dragged on the children grew, Finnigan had dreams of joining his father on the fields of battle some day.
Though he became a great shot, his real skills turned out to be in the subtle, discreet exchange of secrets and information. He was charismatic and charming with the young ladies - who knew nearly as much as any man - and he proved more useful to the forces staying exactly where he was - at home and in society.
As happens in such situations - he soon fell head over heels for one of his sources and, as the war came to an end, he knew he had to act fast. She would sail back to Europe soon if her family had any say (and when it came to women - the family had all the say). So he offered her his heart and his future....
She said no. Unbeknownst to him, she already had an intended - arranged for by her father before his death - that she had no choice but to marry.
Finnigan had every intention of taking her rejection and moving on but he couldn't get the sweet Elinor out of his mind. When her nuptials were announced his heart took over and he found himself outside the church on the day of her wedding. He offered her nothing more than love and a promise to keep her safe, always.
As she placed her hand in his, he pulled her onto the horse behind him and they fled the city with naught but the clothes on their backs and a small purse he'd taken from home that morning.
They rode through the night until coming upon and old, abandoned cabin deep in the woods, far from home. Finnigan made them a fire that night, and every night after. They were able to scavenge and save and make the start of a life together. They waited several months before reaching out to family to let them know they were alive at least. Finnigan's family wrote back, pressing him to come home with his new bride, but Elinor's family made no attempt to respond.
Life in the wilderness proved difficult and sometimes Finnigan resorted to thievery to try to make Elinor happy - she longed for the luxuries she had grown up with (and so did he to be fair). Most of the time he was able to get away with it, taking only little things that wouldn't be missed by most. But sometimes... sometimes he ran afoul of one of his neighbors.
They couldn't have known what was happening. They couldn't possibly understand without any point of reference....
When he saw her, he couldn't stop the anger coursing through his veins - though he knew it wasn't anger at her. He fled into the night - leaving her and her children in the house where they'd be safe. He'd always promised her safety. He knew that... deep down under the animal. As he felt the dirt beneath his paws (???), he knew they'd be safe there.
Safe from him.
Generation 21 - mid 1700s.
After four girls, Huxley Godfrey was grateful for the birth of his first son - Colin. He loved his daughters with all his heart but he was an adventurer at heart and he longed to show his son all that the wilderness had to offer. Two more sons would come not long after but Colin, the eldest boy, got the majority of his attention in those first years.
As conflict began to rise in the colonies - Huxley knew it wouldn't be long before he might be forced away from his family and he set out to teach Colin everything he could about being "the man of the house". His efforts doubled after disease ravaged the household. Of ten children born to he and his wife, only four made it to ten years old.
With great trepidation, Huxley left to serve in the war - leaving Elizabeth (18), Catharine (16), Colin (11) and Frederick (7) behind. He entrusted his two teen daughters to take charge of the household. Little could he know the troubles that would befall them.
The eldest, Elizabeth, swayed by the influences of an older, married gentleman (a Duke no less), gave up her virtue and became with child. Unwilling to face the scandal and with no father to stop it, the Duke arranged a marriage between her and his eldest son and sent the pair back to Europe, thus leaving the younger daughter - Catharine - in charge of her brothers.
Catharine, for her part, wasn't particularly taken with the young men of the town. She knew she ought to be but couldn't help but fall for a charming young woman. Liberty was smitten as well and encouraged Catharine to form an attachment to a man - any man who wasn't unkind - as that was expected of all young ladies. And so she did. She allowed a moment to get away from her and soon found herself unmarried and with child but unlike Elizabeth, she did not tell her gentleman and instead, cloistered herself at the homestead until she gave birth. Colin kept her secrets but the gentleman eventually came around and discovered her - a marriage was arranged, against her better judgement but under the advisement of her true love - Liberty, who said it would allow them more freedoms.
As young Colin begins to come of age and start his own story - what lessons will he have taken from his father? From his sisters?
It's 1733 and we're having a ball! Huxley brought a few "modern" moves to the Governor's Ball this evening. lol
Thomas's Brindleton Bay family: Zachariah and Cassandra (twins) from his first wife, Ashton and then Claire and Hester with is second wife, Matilda. Matilda is pregnant again but, of course, Thomas is back out to sea.
Thomas's Sulani famliy - Elsa and her children: Eve, Morrow and Yvaine
Almost a year and a half after his marriage - Thomas made it home to find that his wife had died giving birth to his twins, Zachariah and Cassandra. In spite of the pleas of his father and sister, he returned to sea - determined to make his own riches to provide for his children. He knew they were in good hands at home. The siren song called to him and he met up with his mysterious woman again. He couldn't resist her charms, despite his grief. After awhile he met Matilda - a sea faring woman who sought a life on land. They married quickly and far from home and family. When they realized she was with child, Thomas felt the best he could do was take her home to Massachusetts. He enjoyed a small shore leave and met his growing twins, argued with his father again and then set out. Unbeknownst to them all, there was another family elsewhere. Eve, who had her father's hair, and Morrow, who had his father's eyes grew up in an isolated cove under the watchful eye of their beautiful, mysterious, mother.
My 18th generation heir - Thomas Godfrey - has taken to the seas. After a few years on board, he met a lovely young governor's daughter and managed to win both her heart and the approval of her father. No small feat for a merchant sailor! After they're wedding, he put back out to sea, leaving her at home with her father for now (she's never met his family and he didn't want to make the introductions so abruptly). Not long after their wedding, the ship was stuck in long drought of overly calm seas before finally finding land again and he met a mysterious young woman...
I'm really bad about taking screenshots from my save until weird moments happen... like when Nikolas was about to removed his son's head or when Evangeline keeps getting herself stuck on top of cabinets - I think she saw a mouse and freaked out myself... lol But we're now in the year 1669, living in the colonies of the "New World".
