Love's Basics

Called to love God and to love people, GenConers were once again reminded of Love's essence in God's eyes. With hands lifted high, 145 youth gave thanksgiving through the songs Where the Spirit of The Lord, Your Love Never Fails, The Time Has Come, Jesus Lord of Heaven and All for Love.

Pastor Jordan, on the other hand, shared His testimony on how God's been working in His life as a faithful giver. Grace shared a song entitled You by Laura Story, afterwards.

GenConers were reminded of the approaching PGIL , the Love edition of PGIF Night, on Feb 22.

The Lord has called us to preach outside this building. In this world, everything is relative.

1. God's the source of love. We have to pattern love according to what God says.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. -1 John 4:7-8

If love comes from God, seek the source of it, God.

Human love is love inherent in our being. In this world, love has been distorted. We are capable of loving, yet it's distorted. Human love is inclined to loving his/her own, people we share a lot in common with. It is to love our own kind, tribe, peers and race.

On the other hand, divine love is love proclaiming that God is love.

God=love; love=God

If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[a] but do not have love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. -1 Corinthians 13:3-5

Perfect love is unconditional, selfless and self-empty. It is doing not only the best for someone, but also asking nothing in return.

1 John 4 defines the very essence of perfect love. We love because God first loved us. We can truly love because God's love is in us. When we abide in God (in His love), we become extension of His love.

2. Love and hate cannot co-exist.

V. 20: Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

DON'T HATE.

As light and darkness can't coexist so thus love and hate.

This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. -1 John 1:5-6

If we have hurt or have differences, we must forgive.

3. Love is an act of obedience to Christ

Seek for a Christ-standard love. Christ set an example so we would know what real and genuine love is.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these. Mark 12:30-31

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. -John 13:34

Meanwhile, holy love is described in Matthew 5:43-48. We are commanded to love our enemies. Be perfect as God is.

We must not make our own definition of love. Instead, the more we should look at its meaning in His Word. We can love perfectly only upon genuine encounter with the love of God.

Love is...

Love is indeed in the air.

Topping the first Sunday of February with love and passion, 120 GenConers sang songs of praise such as Where the Spirit of the Lord is, The Victory, This is How We know, Shine and Be Lifted High to the one and only author of Love, Jesus Christ.

Loving God isn't just through praising His Name. Ate Ricci challenged the youth to give faithfully for God's kingdom. "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." -Philippians 4:12

Band SaGOD with Jeng rendered a special number entitled God-shaped hole by Plumb. Afterwards, the Wait For You teaser, Praise God it's Love for PGIF as well as the most awaited Summer Youth Camp this May 2013 were launched.

Reminders also announced were the upcoming Town Fiesta Parade on Feb 16 and the 1st leg of the 2013 Honda National Motocross Series this Feb 17.

DaWord Love is... John 13:34-35 By Rev. Janary Suyat

Love is the true evidence that we belong to Jesus.

We have come to know love by this: that Jesus laid down his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians. -1 John 3:16

"I give you a new commandment - to love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. Everyone will know by this that you are my disciples - if you have love for one another." -John 13:34-35

Love is never new. In the Old Testament we were reminded to love our neighbors as ourself while in the New Testament we are commanded to "Love one another, as Christ have loved us."

So how is our love, then? Jesus gave us a new commandment to love one another. He said this for He wants us to follow His example,that is to lay down one's life.

Jesus' example of love is self-less, which is defined as looking at others better than one's self.

However, due to the influences if this world, we are more expose to crab mentality than with selfless love. Many times we look at people with hatred when we should be confronting people in love.

How do we show love? Do we love our brethren? Or are we just excited to see them fall? How do we respond?

We are commanded to love even our enemies. There are people who need affirmation and tender loving care. As Christians, we see the need. Therefore, we must respond. We should be ready to help whatever the cost is.

What kind of witness are we showing people? When we obey, love becomes our witness to this world. Remember: Love is Jesus' presence living in us.

Love is our identity. Because of Jesus, we are bound to a relationship with our brothers and sisters. Love unites us. We love because we are loved bus Savior. We are then commanded to be identified with the love of Christ by sharing Him to this world.

When we talk about love, who do we see and who influence us? Is it Jesus?

01-20-2013: Valley of Dry Bones

With one desire and united hearts, 160 young people gathered to give praises to the King as they sang Holding Nothing Back, Free, Reign in us and You'll Come.

Ate Jeca Dela Cruz shared her testimony in giving as she claimed how able God is in blessing and providing overflowing grace to His people.

On the other hand, Ate AM reminded the GenConers of the future events like PGIF on January 25, the upcoming Metro Manila District, call for youth whose passion is to teach kids and regular church activities such as Wednesday 7pm Prayer Meeting, Sunday Morning services and more.

Also announced is the ordination of Ptr Jordan Escusa and Ptra Janary Suyat this Saturday.

Meanwhile, an AVP of the upcoming 2013 Events was launched to give a recall on the year that was and a brief preview on what GenCon looks forward this year, from the regular GenCon 4pm service, PGIF Night, Church Anniversary, to the most awaited summer youth camp, Generation Explosion, new ministries and a lot of piled up activities.

In this world, we tend to look upon great people, champions and the like. We tend to expect more from them. So when they fail, the pain is deeply felt.

Hope boosters for 2013

1. Nothing is impossible to those whose 'belief' is in God.

V. 2 - "He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry."

Our valley of dry bones is similar to things, events and issues that bring hopelessness to us. They can be problems, pressures, sickness, consequence of sin, and the like. Also, it can refer to the uncertainty of the future.

When hopelessness strikes, we tend to fear what lies ahead. Yet, the more we must remember that hopelessness starts with the mind and fear is always associated with death.

God is asking us to believe, to act in faith and to consider the sovereignty of our God.

V. 3 -"He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord, you alone know.”

When we go through problems, we have the assurance that there is hope. God will always be our hope.

2. The Lord is constantly working on building up our hope in Him.

V. 5 - "This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life."

Take a look on how God works in us. He is meeting us just where we are. God is giving us a reason to hope.

V. 6b - "...I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord."

3. Only when we allow the Spirit's leading to us can we reach the fullness of God's.

V. 9 - "Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live"

God is using situations, people for us to believe. With God, there is no room for doubts. Instead of minding anxieties, we must mind soaking ourselves in the Spirit.

01-13-2013: God's Master Plan

With its very first afternoon service this year, GenConers warmly welcomed its new time slot through praises and expectations. A total of 161 young people gathered all together as they sang Your Love Never Fails, Nothing is Impossible, No eye has Seen , Waiting here for You, and The Stand.

Ate AM challenged everyone in the Giving Time through Psalms 24:1 while Aleck Valencia and his friends rendered a song number Your Love is Strong by Jon Foreman.

Upcoming events were also cited such as the Manila District Assembly which will occur on January 24.

Pastor Jordan gave emphasis to this year's theme, No Eye Has Seen What God has for 2013 at 1 Corinthians 2:9

But just as it is written, "Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him." -1 Corinthians 2:9

God's Master plan

This world talks about 2013 as the year of the water snake. Yet as Christians, we must not allow any horoscope or stars define our lives. Every year is the Year of The Lord.

God set His plans even before we were created. He has a Master Plan and this plan is made for everyone He loves.

1. God's Master plan is not for the Worldly v. 6

Romans 12 - Do not conform to the pattern of this world.

Ask yourself: Where will we be without Jesus?

1 Corinthians 2:14

Jude 1:19

In the eyes of the world, this is foolishness. They think that we are just wasting time when we prioritize The Lord.

God's plan is not for those who are worldly. It is not for the secular. We are in the world but not of the world.

Are we worldly or not? We have to seek God always.

2. God's Master plan is bigger than our imagination. V 8

What is unseen, unheard and not conceived?

Amazingly, we cannot answer what God is saying to us that is unseen, unheard and not conceived. These are questions that are designed to be only answered by God.

This is how big God's plan for us: IMMEASURABLY

Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think.

-Ephesians 3:20

3. Is for those who love him

For whom? To those who love him.

But just as it is written, "Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him." -1 Corinthians 2:9

Men make plans but it is God who makes it succeed.

So many verses in the Bible yet the greatest of this is to love God. The greatest way to love God is by simply obeying His commandments, following Him.

The Great Commission is for those who love Him. We must go out and reach out the lost sheep.

Romans 8:28 All things for the good of those who love Him

Ask yourself: What can I do for The Lord this year?

01-06-2013: GenCon's Goal for 2013

Starting 2013 right, 150 GenConers gathered to give thanksgiving and praises as they declared God's power through songs My Future Decided, Bigger than my Imagination, Here in Your Presence and Here in My Life.

Not long after, Ptr. Elmo disclosed Joshua 1:9 as he led the youth in giving the best to The Lord. Also, Grace announced the new and official time slot of future Generation Congregations which will formally begin on January 13, 4pm at Peak Sun building.

With a quick recap of the year that was and this 2013's vision, NYI President Roy de Leon shared how God transformed and continues to transform GC as years count to numbers. P'Roy even used GenConer Kenaz's life as a testimony on how God used him to reach out and share Jesus to the bikers, to his friends.

Meanwhile, Kuya Sam encouraged the GenConers to have a vision this new year, to lead more people to experience the love of Christ.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here."

-2 Corinthians 5:17

Salvation is for everyone.

Those who are in Christ are those who have fully surrendered their life to God. Indeed, the new has come.

Taking Paul's personal encounter with God as an example, the former King Saul, a persecutor of early Christians, was given a new life.

What is new life then?

When people experience a brand new life in Christ, we will gain:

1. Totally changed heart

This is our inner self.

Kuya Bryan Dela Rosa, a former Tau Gama GT, inspired the youth as he testified how God changed his life when he decided to completely surrender his life to God.

2. Guilt-free life

When we are guilty, we experience hardships on moving on. Reality speaking, our pasts can drag us down. Yet, since God is a god of miracle, He assures us a guilt-free life. There is nothing greater than a peaceful mind and heart.

3. Purpose-driven life

We are Christ's ambassadors and we are called to represent Him. God will use us for His glory.

A totally changed heart, a guilt-free and a purpose-driven life will only be possible when we have Christ in our lives.

As said by Dereck Kwan, 100% must be for the Lord.

As His representatives, we are regarded as His mouth piece, His hands and His feet.

The question is, shall we respond to His call?

With all hands raised up and surrendered, Kuya Sam led everyone in singing Here in My Life as he closed the program with a fervent prayer.

Facing its last Generation Congregation service at L. Wood, a number of 150 souls celebrated God's faithfulness as they gave thanks and praises through the songs Break the Silence, Go, Free, All I Need is You and Here in Your Presence. Another fun fact was also presented before the youth. Q: "How many sons did Isaac have?" A: Genesis 25:25-26 Afterwards, a video launched by Full Charge reminded everyone of the Christmas season. With its 'Siyempre Disyembre' outreach project, the young people were encouraged to donate toys, clothes and the like to help the less fortunate this Yuletide. Meanwhile, Ptr. Elmo challenged the GenConers during the Giving Time as Nicole rendered a special number after. More videos were showed to remind everyone of TFCN's upcoming activities. Coming this Sunday, the Church will hold its 34th Anniversary, 4pm, with the theme Expand Our Territory. Also, there will be another Friday night of live bands, games and DaWord as PGIF hosts a hip-hop evening on November 30, 7pm at Peak Sun Building. Last but not the least, the much awaited Generation Explosion 9: Digmaan rises on December 2 with Quest in the house. After eight years, GC will be transferring to a new location, from L. Wood to Peak Sun. Ptr Jordan Escusa shared this week's DaWord entitled "Generation Conquest" (Numbers 13:26-33) 26 They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They gave Moses this account: “We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan.”30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.” 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, “The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it— 37 these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the LORD. 38 Of the men who went to explore the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh survived.Number 14:36-38 IT BECAME TOO LATE FOR THEM 39 When Moses reported this to all the Israelites, they mourned bitterly. 40 Early the next morning they set out for the highest point in the hill country, saying, “Now we are ready to go up to the land the LORD promised. Surely we have sinned!”41 But Moses said, “Why are you disobeying the LORD’s command? This will not succeed! 42 Do not go up, because the LORD is not with you. You will be defeated by your enemies, 43 for the Amalekites and the Canaanites will face you there. Because you have turned away from the LORD, he will not be with you and you will fall by the sword.” NUMBERS 14:39-43 DON’T BE LEFT BEHIND! PAG SI JESUS NAGYAYA “LET’S GO TO THE OTHER SIDE” We must not be left behind. When God makes a 'GO' signal, we must obey. Let us evaluate things that are hindering us to grow. Don't hesitate or regret to leave them.

11-11-2012: Peak Sun Dedication

Today we did something different, we went to our new place for it’s dedication. I was our first service as a congregation in Peak Sun and a celebration of God’s goodness by expanding our territory. We went on praising and worshiping him then Pastor Jordan explained and announced the essence of today's event. The TFCN Ladies' choir then serenaded us with a beautiful song number. Rev. Ptra Luz Tamayo’s testimony Isaiah 54:2 extend the place of your tent. This has been an inspiration to us but how? We really don't know. But when it is God He knows what to do and He definitely has a plan. The owner of the peak sun building if the TFCN is interested in using the CFF building. Ana told her boss that TFCN doesn't need a place like Peak Sun especially there are expenses still for the main building. So she called Ptra. and asked for her concern. God just provided the place. Miraculously enough, God has a plan for TFCN. This is a blessing for the whole district of TFCN. Helps and donations started to come. It is overwhelming and amazing. God continuously touch people to reveal Himself and we honor God for that. Prayer for the Church: Rev. Timothy Kim Prayer is not offered through our mouth. But also through hymnals. "Don't you know you are a temple? You are a temple of the Holy Ghost. Full of praises, full of power, full of glory. We are a temple of the Holy Ghost. 1 Cor 3:16 Our body serves as a temple and that the spirit of God dwells in us. Matthew 18:19 The Word Isaiah 54:1-5 54 “Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy, you who were never in labor; because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,” says the Lord. 2 “Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. 3 For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities. 4 “Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated. You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. 5 For your Maker is your husband— the Lord Almighty is his name— the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth. 1. We have a reason to rejoice (Celebration) A nation called for His glory and Name, Israel was held captive for several years due to their unfaithfulness to God. Yet, God reminded them of His promise: V.1: You will have a reason to rejoice, to sing again. God clearly reminded them that after they settled in Jerusalem they will increase in number. The church being the modern Israel, the chosen people of God, is reminded that with God nothing can hinder. Nothing can prevail against His Ministry. God sees everything emerging all over the world. It is happening now. The Christian religion is the most flourishing religion all over the world. This is part of God’s promise to Israel. It will increase like His promise to a barren women. We have a reason to celebrate today. We are part of that universal church. God is giving us a reason to exist as a church who can be proud of in praising the King of Kings. “Look, I am about to do something new. Now it begins to happen! Do you not recognize it? Yes, I will make a road in the desert and paths in the wilderness.” -Isaiah 43:19 God is making a way. We may not see it, but God is already doing mighty things to prosper His church all over the world. However, with the existence of big and mega churches, many small churches limit their knowledge about a prosperous church to facilities and finances. Small churches tend to be content and complacent, just watching and waiting as others grow bigger and bigger. Remember: We are part of the big Church that God so desires. Mama Luz shared that even her husband Ptr Bernie would not have in his mind not a small church but a big one; not pastoring small church but a large one back then. However, she learned that the size of the church is not based on the number of people and facilities. What is big to us can be small to others. “Every time I pray I always seek for our church to expand. It does not matter who and when it will start. Someday God will choose His leader. It is not necessary for us to wait because God has declared even on His Words that He will make it happen. If we will just believe and desire, God will make it happen.” God has proven His faithfulness. He is showing us the fulfillment of His promise. We definitely have a reason to rejoice. 2. God has laid for us His vision V.2 : Enlarge the place of your tent. Pastor Dick Eugenio then gave the benediction. This calls for hard work. God doesn't want us to remain small. He wants a church that does not stop growing. Let us keep adding. Let us not be satisfied with our present attendance. God wants a place where the harvest can be gathered.

11-04-2012: Vision with the Mission

180 saved souls sang praises to God with the songs All about You, Open the Eyes of my Heart, Reflector, Reign in Us and Until the Whole World Hears. Find out the answer on 1 Samuel 17:51 Ate AM then encouraged us to give for God’s Kingdom as she imparted with us what JOY really is. Joy is experience through letting go and it’s something greater than happiness. Indeed it’s a great joy to know we’re giving back what God deserves. We got really ecstatic when we saw the things that are about to happen this November. From the dedication of the new PeakSun building to this month’s PGIF night, God is truly working in our church. He wants us to see ourselves as matured disciples and breeding matured ones • Prerequisite for Abraham’s reception of God’s vision • V1- After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision“Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” • Prerequisite for Abraham’s reception of God’s vision • Maturity is measured when we’re: – Self-empty • In Genesis 13, Abraham had his nephew, Lot, choose the better part of the land when their livestocks became too numerous & they needed to separate territory so their employees won’t fight • Maturity is measured when we’re: – Loving the unlovable • Loving those unworthy of our love • In Genesis 14, Abraham risked losing everything he had acquired by rescuing Lot when he was taken captive by evil kings • Maturity is measured when we’re: – Giving Tithes to the Lord coz it’s a sign that we acknowledge everything we have is His. – In Genesis 14:20, “And praise be to God Most High, who delivered your enemies into your hand.” Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.” 2. Seeing what God wants us to see • He wants to see us “Dream big & believe” • We can count on Him v.1 After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision“Do not be afraid, Abram. 180 youths gathered to praise the lover of our souls singing Your Love Never Fails, Everlasting God, Counting on God, Here in Your Presence and Our God. We continued our worship as we went on giving for God’s Kingdom as Allan Medalla shared how God has been providing for him and encouraged us to give as well. Alyssa then gave the announcements followed by a special song number by Shen and the band entitled Go and Sin No More by Rebecca St.James. A video of the concluded PGIF night was then shown. Da Word by Pastor Jordan Escusa JESUS: THE BULLYBUSTER HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED BEING BULLIED? PJ shared his experiences of being bullied as a young boy and thankfully, he turned out alright today. BULLIES ARE EVERYWHERE! -SCHOOL BULLY -STREET BULLY -A SIBLING or RELATIVE -PEDICAB,TAXI,JEEPNEY DRIVER -CYBER BULLY -BARKER -WIPER BOYS -AUTHORITY -CHRISTIAN BULLY -YOURSELF(INSECURITY) Atbp. PJ then shared pictures of young teens who were bullied, sadly they became victims of it by committing suicide. Amanda Todd was one of the latest. PJ said her story reminded him of this story in the Bible. JOHN 8:1-11 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. The scribes and the Pharisees *brought a woman caught in adultery, and having set her in the center of the court, they *said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery, in the very act. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women; what then do You say?” They were saying this, testing Him, so that they might have grounds for accusing Him. But Jesus stooped down and with His finger wrote on the ground. But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. When they heard it, they began to go out one by one, beginning with the older ones, and He was left alone, and the woman, where she was, in the center of the court. Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” 1. BULLIES PREY ON THE FLAWED(v.3-4) Here we see how the Pharisees were the bullies and they targeted this woman caught in sin. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 1 John 1:8 SATAN: THE BULLY HIS MISSION: STEAL.KILL.DESTORY(JOHN 10:10) Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 2. BULLIES ARE FLAWED! But when they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up, and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”(v.7) Bullies are bullies because of family problems in their home, or they have been bullied themselves. Hurt people hurt people. How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Luke 6:42 3. JESUS IS OUR DEFENDER …Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.”(v.10-11) WHAT DO WE DO WITH THOSE WHO BULLIED US? FORGIVE. GOD HAS A WAY OF DEALING WITH THEM. WHAT IS OUR RESPONSE TO JESUS? GOING AND SINNING NO MORE. JESUS “in the likeness of sinful flesh”(Ro.8:3) “yet without sin”(Heb.4:15) Sanctification is based on the atoning work of Christ (10:10;13:12) Jesus is our sanctification (2:11) Christ is the source of perfection for believers: “by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are made holy”(10:14) NOTICE: THE ADULTEROUS WOMAN CALLS JESUS “LORD” JESUS COULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE TO STONE HER(OR EVERYONE) JESUS CALLS THE BULLIED AND BULLIES TO REPENTANCE! Christ will not condemn those who, though they have sinned, will go and sin no more(Ps. 85:8, Isa. 55:7) Some of us who have sinned like the adulterous woman, feel so bad for ourselves we feel we are not worthy enough to come back to God or church, but the good news is Jesus is so rich in love and mercy, you are not condemned. Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 Pastor Jordan then encouraged us to pray and forgive our bullies and to remember that we, at some point in our lives have become bullies as well. Jesus is the ultimate bully buster, we only need to call on Him and He’ll take care of all our bully problems.

10-21-2012: Forgive

211 forgiven souls came to praise the Living God with the songs Free, Sing my Love, Holding Nothing Back, Dancing Generation, All for Love and Majesty. Fun Fact: How many times should we forgive our brothers? Find out the answer as you read Matthew 18:21-22. P’Roy then encouraged us to give for God’s Kingdom as he shared how God provided the needs of our newly acquired place. The place had no air conditioning system then but even before we move there, God has already provided for us by means of the former owner of the place who donated 10 air conditioning units. Talk about God’s grace! Kir and JR then serenaded us with a very special song entitled Only Love Remains by JJ Heller followed by the announcements given by Grace. The Young Professionals, collectively known as Sold Out then gave a very special dance number as they encouraged all the young adults and professionals to come and fellowship with them with the upcoming re-launching of the Sold Out mini GenCon. Why do you need to forgive? When you hold resentment toward another, you are bound to that person or condition by an emotional link that is stronger than steel. Forgiveness is the only way to dissolve that link and get free. -Catherine Ponder Matthew 6:9-14 Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Why forgive? Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. We were commanded. Matthew 18: 21-22 ff. 21 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times. We were forgiven. 1. We hurt more when we don’t. a. When we don’t forgive, we carry that burden of hate and bitterness in our hearts. b. We keep asking why we’re the only one who seems to be hurting. c. We try to hurt the person as much as we’re hurting 2. We become like Christ. a. It’s human nature to get even and seek revenge, but Christ is our model for forgiveness. 3. What does it truly mean to forgive? Pastora Jana then challenged us to let go of that burden and think of someone who needs our forgiveness. As we sang Majesty and made it our prayer, we offered our hearts to God once again. Our baggage that needed lifting and our hearts that needed healing so that we can forgive once again. Why forgive? It’s because we've been forgiven by our Mighty God.
